What is Set the Tune?
Set the Tune is a scheduling workbench purpose built for music schools and private lesson businesses. It replaces spreadsheets and manual scheduling with an AI optimizer that places a full student roster against teacher availability, instrument match, drive time, and daily hour caps in a single pass.
Core functions: drag and drop schedule grid, one click AI Suggest scheduling, automatic conflict detection for double bookings and travel time, CSV import with automatic data normalization, teacher and student profile management, utilization and load reports, and print ready family schedules.
The platform runs on Next.js with a PostgreSQL database and integrates Google Maps Platform for traffic aware drive time calculations between lesson locations. Billing runs through Stripe with usage based tiers that scale with the number of placed students. Access is through secure passwordless magic link authentication, no passwords stored.
Built for owners and office admins who run a roster across multiple teachers and instruments and need a system that fits how music instruction actually gets scheduled, not a generic calendar tool retrofitted for it.
