Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

ReleasePad overview
What is ReleasePad?
ReleasePad is a changelog and release notes management platform designed to automate creation, publication and distribution of product updates for SaaS companies and development teams. It addresses the need for structured communication by transforming code deployments into user-facing announcements and synchronizing updates across application interfaces, search engines and AI assistants. The solution targets technology organizations with frequent release cycles and supports stakeholders ranging from founders and product managers to engineers and customer success teams. It bridges the gap between code merge events and customer awareness by integrating within existing development workflows.
ReleasePad automates release note generation through a GitHub application integration that monitors repository activity and applies an AI engine by Claude Opus to draft user-oriented changelog entries. The system reads commit messages and pull request descriptions, categorizes updates as new features, improvements or fixes, and creates initial drafts in plain language. Teams retain editorial control by reviewing, editing or discarding AI-generated entries before publication. Commit filtering is supported via a configurable skip tag for the exclusion of internal housekeeping changes. AI output parameters including tone, language, level of detail and emoji usage can be customized to align with brand voice and audience expectations.
ReleasePad delivers update visibility via a lightweight embeddable in-application widget and hosted public changelog pages. The widget appears within the product environment through a single line of code and presents updates during active user sessions. Public changelog pages are hosted on custom domains and optimized for search discoverability with metadata tags, structured data and canonical references. Pages feature visualizations of update frequency to highlight development momentum and provide a machine-readable markdown endpoint accessible via URL parameters. Large language models and automation tools can locate and parse changelog content through automatic link discovery in the HTML head.
ReleasePad provides analytics to track page views, post engagement and user interactions so teams can identify which updates resonate most with audiences. It supports multi-product management from a unified dashboard, with isolated configurations and branding for each product line. Role-based access control distinguishes administrators from members with defined permissions for changelog tasks. A version two REST API enables programmatic access to posts, categories, product settings and view data. The platform offers OAuth authentication for GitHub and Google, email notifications for draft generation, bot protection with invisible verification and geographic traffic insights. A brief cache duration balances content freshness with performance on public changelog endpoints.

“It's a key integration since that is what allows closing the loop between what get's developed and what get's communicated to our users.”
“GitHub Actions integration is essential for automating our CI/CD pipelines. It allows us to seamlessly build and deploy containerized microservices directly into our Azure Kubernetes Service clusters.”
