What is Recap?
ReCap Pro is software developed by Autodesk which specializes in the digitization of data from the building world. Its main functionality consists of an import module capable of reading data from a plain photograph or from other more complex models.
Once data is imported, it is then possible to manipulate it by creating a cloud feature with editable points. This can help optimize the construction process when it is necessary to make corrections or add further elements to an existing structure.
The application is thus optimized for each construction phase, from planning to renovation, and including construction itself.
ReCap Pro is a BIM (building information modeling tool) which forms part of a comprehensive methodology for centralizing data which can then be manipulated in real-time by different trade sectors. Architects, engineers, and various service providers can all make use of this kind of information. This helps to avoid a good number of mistakes, which can also save both time and money.
Finally, ReCap Pro offers an additional service that uses the power of the cloud to process photographs taken from drones in order to model buildings as accurately as possible. This data can then be exported and used in a large number of BIM-related tools.
