Box is a great alternative to Dropbox

2018-06-22

Pros

I like how simple it is to manage files and how it is to control how they are shared, plus there are apps for all my devices.

Cons

I wish there was more free space offered like there is with Microsoft OneDrive.

Great tool to store data, access and share it from anywhere

2018-12-16

Pros

1. It is easy to upload data on to the Box application and store it in different folder structures. 2. It provides limited storage i.e. around 10GB and the limit can be increased at some extra costs. 3. It is easy to sync data at any time from anywhere. 4. We can access all documents and files at any time. 5. It is also easy to share documents, items and other contents easily. 6. The user interface is pretty decent and does the job just like Google Drive. 7. It allows uploading almost all major file types and allows offline access and viewing capabilities too. 8. It is available as a mobile application as well, so syncing data becomes easier

Cons

Also competitors like Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive are highly secure and reliable and trustworthy as compared to Box with limited features.

A platform that provides suitable cloud storage to access data securely and remotely

2019-03-31

Pros

This has been one of the very first cloud storage platforms that I've used and it provides a really great user experience. Also, the user interface is very intuitive. It is really easy to upload our personal files and manage it in directories on the cloud, without investing in personal storage. Also, it reduces the worry of loss of data, data threats, security and virus issues, as everything is managed on the cloud. It provides decent amount of storage online (initially 50GB) and we can access data remotely from anywhere in the world, making it a really great solution for us.

Cons

There are a lot of top competitors that offer better solutions and functionalities like Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive.

Best File Storage/Sharing Utility That Integrates with Canvas

2017-10-20

Integration with Canvas is a huge benefit. Box's security is probably the best for its intended use. Box is also very simple to use. I love how the sync tool just works seamlessly in the background.

Pros

We have Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive integrated with our instance of Canvas as all, and Box stands head and shoulders above those.

Cons

Box doesn't allow its sync tool to be used on beta OS environments like a beta version of macOS. It kind of sucks having to wait for the general release of an operating system just because you're dependent on a file-storage service.

OneDrive

2019-02-01

Overall I like this better than the box.

Pros

I like that it's a one place repository for our daily work documents. My team and I can edit work papers at the same time without having to email the file each time. I love that it lets me know someone is editing the file as soon as I open the file on my desktop. It helps to keep us organized and hold each other accountable. I also like that it will display who was the last person to touch a file/document.

Cons

It's a web based repository and whenever you have a poor wifi connection the wheel will spin for a few minutes before you're able to open your file.

OneDrive Review

2019-02-12

I tried it for a bit, but I prefer using google drive or drop box.

Pros

I like the concept of backing up files in case an of an emergency where one would lose all their files.

Cons

I don't like how it automatically chooses which files to store. For a new user, one can hit the cap for data storage pretty fast. It also makes some processes slower when it's uploading your files.

Microsoft OneDrive is an easy to use cloud storage service with some drawbacks

2018-04-16

OneDrive is a great cloud storage solution, though it lacks some features that Dropbox and Box have.

Pros

One of the biggest pros for OneDrive is how well it works with Microsoft Office 365 and Windows OS. It runs with minimal system resources and the ability to save directly to OneDrive from the apps is fantastic!

Cons

Previous versions of the OneDrive mobile application were clunky and had constant notifications asking me to upload photos. The newer version seems better, so hopefully this is fixed. The Microsoft customer service has always been underwhelming, and most issues are better solved by visiting the Microsoft forums and asking the community for help.

Great value for the price

2018-11-01

Overall it was great for keeping cloud backups of the docs normally stored on the local machines.

Pros

We've migrated from Box to OneDrive just because it was included in our Office 365 subscription, and looked no back.

Cons

-We had some issues with setting up sync for onedrive. -Search function was mediocre compared to Box's.

Personal and Business Cloud Storage

2018-07-16

The payed options for more space are affordable and with the features that OneDrive offers a real strong alternative to Box or Google Drive.

Pros

Very intuitive use and management of files and folders modeled after a windows like experience. The direct integration with windows makes it even easier to use OneDrive. You can seamlessly transfer files from you local machine to the cloud, maintain backups, version files and so on. A great solution that offers a limited amount of free storage for anyone. You can pay for additional space if you require it.

Cons

The only con is the amount of space that you can get for free is limited to 5GB. while acceptable for personal use, may not suffice for a professional use case.

OneDrive

2019-02-14

So far I have no complaints on the OneDrive.

Pros

you will have unlimited space to store the date which will save space on your laptop. Even if you forget your laptop you can access your data from any part of the world. Good collaborative tool i.e. you can share the documents with one drive and others can update the same document if needed.

Cons

it still need to be developed like Box i.e. some what not straight forward when sharing the documents.

Good for file backup

2019-02-19

Pros

I use onedrive to backup important files for our website - its a good platform for backups, cloud storage and its pretty cheap to store a few GBs of data

Cons

I think Box has the best platform in terms of competitors so its hard for me to say thats a flaw with onedrive but at end of day i prefer box over onedrive, as well as over Dropbox and Google drive for file storage and sharing

Another cloud based storage system with it's secondary functionalities not very easy to use

2018-08-29

I have OneDrive but I don't tend to use it very often. I find it's apps quite clunky to use.

Pros

It integrates well with other Microsoft software and should make collaboration easy.

Cons

I use OneDrive, both personally and professionally, for file storage.

2018-06-20

Pros

It's simple and intuitive. It doesn't take a genius to figure out how to leverage it without needing any form of formal training.

Cons

Check's the boxes for file storage - a better tagging system might be the only recommendation I'd really throw out there.

A cloud storage solution that leaves much to be desired

2018-04-12

A better solution would be Dropbox or Box.

Pros

The nice thing about OneDrive is the integration with Office 365 in terms of file access and saving. It doesn't appear to take up much in the way of system resources when I have OneDrive running in the background on startup.

Cons

OneDrive has file count limitations due to its use of Sharepoint on the backend. This has prevented the use of OneDrive for my professional use.

Great For Most, Not Linux Developers

2019-03-05

If it had linux support, I'd use it. Otherwise it's just really my main deal. Works great though.

Pros

Just works great out of the box. Security is lovely too.

Cons

As a developer who switches between Linux and Windows, the lack of a Linux client is a no-go to use it for my main solution sadly.

I use it for business and personal

2018-10-03

This product is awesome and blows the other file storage options out of the competition (box, dropbox, etc).

Pros

The business version comes with 1TB of space and the ability to apply templates for compliance and governance - no one is doing that! The home version I started a long time ago and got "grandfathered" was if you invited friends and family you got space... so I have a ton of personal space as well. Never had any problems setting up, accessing, or securing. It is a part of my work and personal life.

Cons

When there is a problem troublshooting can be a bear for the faint-hearted

Can't go back to life with out it

2018-12-12

This allows for easy file sharing between devices, as well as between users inside of your organization or outside.

Pros

My company has onedrive syncing our desktops which makes everything much easier to use on different devices. I use it on my iPad, iPhone and PC and it syncs seamlessly.

Cons

Good if you already use Office 365

2019-04-12

It works, it wasn't any additional cost, but it isn't as easy to use as the other "box" and "drive" sharing programs.

Pros

Well it is included in any office 365 plan, even the dirt cheap essentials. It does have alot of space and integrates into the office suite. Sharing within your domain group is very simple as it will use the contact details provided, sharing outside will need an email to send the links to.

Cons

It is menu upon menu to get anything done, sharing files and folders is not as easy as it should be and can get confusing with the different locations of shared and owned folders in the Windows directory tree. You will need to train and drill the process to share items and give permissions into peoples heads to get them to understand it.

OneDrive not bad cloud storage solution.

2018-05-23

And the main thing is that it is installed with Windows out of the box.

Pros

Quite a good cloud application that comes with Windows as they say out of the box. Pleasing deep integration with Microsoft products you will love it, especially if you use products from Microsoft, such as Excel, Word and so on.

Cons

From him no way to refuse and to remove, as it is in Windows out of the box.
