Pros

It is a fantastic product and its security features give our business confidence to be in compliance with all regulations we are required to follow.
I like the simplicity and good features and the appropriate speed of Box platform, you can easily transfer files from any device to the cloud storage space of the box.
The interface of Box is great, and it is my favorite of the primary file-sharing platforms. Upload times seem relatively fast and sharing links with people outside my organization is great.

Pros

Quick synching and the ability to organise folders and sub-folders is great. Overall, a decent program and certainly useful for small businesses such as myself.
What I like best about this software is its ease of use and integration with Microsoft products and services.
This allow my team members files to be in its own "space" and this was a good thing. This was what I liked about the OneDrive but.

Cons

Sadly it does not work on my kindle Ir the android tablet I had. With everything going mobile these days, you would think they'd be compatible by now.
This product has very limited functionality in some areas which could be a bit frustrating at times.
The organization of Box is awful, but this could be my company's fault.

Cons

OneDrive has changed in 2021 and this change has brought about headache for all. No syncing because the OneDrive is locked and awaiting action by users who has no idea as to what is wrong.
Where do I begin, it constant instability, it is very hard to use use, sharing process and access permission are coming from hell and the version control is simply sadistic.
The most problem I have as a user is the sync problem, sometimes it gets stuck and you have to restart your computer.

Box user review

until the time I have been using it was perfect, I would recommend users to use Box over similar applications if the cost is not an issue for them.

Pros

I like the reliability that Box has over OneDrive or DropBox, but unfortunately, my employee shifted from Box to OneDrive.

Cons

The Con of Box is that the user fee is so expensive for the business version of the application. I wish it was less.

Box is better than Microsoft OneDrive

Reviewed 4 years ago

My company used Box for 1-3 years before switching over to Microsoft OneDrive. Unfornately, OneDrive is much less user friendly than Box and I wish we could go back.

Pros

The program was super easy to use. Installing Box Sync on the PC, you could easily sync files locally and remotely between Box and your local PC. It was also super easy to share files with customer externally.

Cons

Trying to automate Box Sync in a scripting language was kind of confusing. Their API supported scripting, however, rather than having a normal folder structure, each folder had a unique ID which made it more difficult to go through a nested list of folders to scan for files.

Box is one of the premium file storage services

I shared course content with other students using Box, we also collaborated on files together (project or homeworks stored on Box)

Pros

Never lost a file that I had stored on Box, the downloadable windows application is good for storing files and automatically synchronizing them too

Cons

I prefer other services such as Google Drive/Dropbox/OneDrive because the websites for these programs are better, the downloadable windows app isn't great either. Finally, unlike OneDrive people cannot work on Office simultaneously

A bit on the expensive side

Reviewed 2 years ago

Because of the above reason, we ended up moving to Microsoft OneDrive. We already had a Microsoft account because of the Office365 suite and while setting up OneDrive was far more complicated than Box, we now have nearly three times the storage for no addjtional cost. With better pricing options, Box would give both OneDrive and Dropbox a run for their money.

Pros

Ours is an Apple environment and Box integrates really well natively with the MacOS. The Sync is reliable and the setup is super easy. Effortless to set new users up.

Cons

We found iurselves running out of space rather quickly. And the pricing options after a certain threshold are a bit high. For a small organisation, this may be a bit tricky.

Box is not as reliable as others

Reviewed 3 years ago

We've used Box and OneDrive for file sharing and document management and overall Box was not as reliable or easy to use as OneDrive. It's not the worst software in the world, but it's not the first one I would recommend.

Pros

Box offers the ability to file share and document management which is important for our team.

Cons

There were a lot of issues with consistency. We had many times where files weren't being shared when they were supposed to be and it was not as easy to use as other softwares.

At one point our users were using Box quite frequently. When we entered into an agreement with Microsoft for O365 services, our divisions moved their users to OneDrive in order to avoid paying twice for essentially the same services. We still have a footprint of users in Box, mainly for collaboration with other companies. I personally find the Box experience better than OneDrive.

Pros

Ease of use, integration with Active Directory, audit trail, collaboration with other companies, admin console/reporting

Cons

SSO cannot be undone, and there is no mechanism for preventing the creation of a new user. We have to prune inactive user accounts each quarter to stay in licensing compliance.

OneDrive

A great Google Drive alternative

Reviewed 5 years ago

Extremely good alternative in case you don't like to use Drop box, box, iCloud or Google Drive

Pros

How easy it is to utilize and to set up inside a Windows Environment. You just sign it with your Microsoft Account and your files appear in the OneDrive folder that can be accessed from Explorer or the sidebar. You can also set up how and what files to sync in case your computer is running low on storage. So far I've not noticed that once it's syncing file it takes a lot of your network bandwidth and still, it manages to upload the files or sync them quite quickly and painlessly. You can also view your files in other systems, phones or even on your browser if you need access to them. The pricing is in line with what you'd expect but if you got an office subscription, you get the best deal there!

Cons

Wish it was more flexible with the file formats it recognized and that there were ways to edit files offline in the browser like google docs and so on.

Overall I like this better than the box.

Pros

I like that it's a one place repository for our daily work documents. My team and I can edit work papers at the same time without having to email the file each time. I love that it lets me know someone is editing the file as soon as I open the file on my desktop. It helps to keep us organized and hold each other accountable. I also like that it will display who was the last person to touch a file/document.

Cons

It's a web based repository and whenever you have a poor wifi connection the wheel will spin for a few minutes before you're able to open your file.

OneDrive perfect for Work and Home Use

Reviewed 5 years ago

It totally excceeds my expectation. I love it much better than Box.

Pros

I can use OneDrive to save my company folders and personal folders and access both from my work and personal folders. It is really convenient that I don't have carry my work lap top home or my personal lap top to work anymore. I can access files from anywhere. On top of it, all my work software can be trusted onto my personal lap top for use.

Cons

I think Microsoft can design a better GUI interface for accessing folders from explorer so that you can access both work and personal folders seamlessly.

Sharing Files Has Never Been Easier

Reviewed 5 years ago

Will replace Share File and drop box. OneDrive is included with Office 365.

Pros

Your data is backed up! Lets you easily share files that are too large for email. I can setup an expiration on shared folders.

Cons

I have not come across anything that I do not like about OneDrive. Works well and have not had any problems.

Onedrive is my personal go to

Reviewed 4 years ago

Very good. Ever since I lost an important document to hard drive failure I always back up and I like the right integration onedrive provides.

Pros

We have onedrive and box available for free to use at work. Onedrive for me is so much better. It integrates so smoothly with windows and office and I don’t have to worry about losing my files. While my boss prefers box, I use onedrive for my own backups and put the things he needs on box for him

Cons

I have had some issues with the versioning when, I’m moving between computers. Don’t know if it’s an internet problem or what but sometimes I end up with conflicts and multiple copies of files. I notice this happens more to me on onedrive than other services.

OneDrive Review

Reviewed 5 years ago

I tried it for a bit, but I prefer using google drive or drop box.

Pros

I like the concept of backing up files in case an of an emergency where one would lose all their files.

Cons

I don't like how it automatically chooses which files to store. For a new user, one can hit the cap for data storage pretty fast. It also makes some processes slower when it's uploading your files.

Microsoft OneDrive is an easy to use cloud storage service with some drawbacks

Reviewed 6 years ago

OneDrive is a great cloud storage solution, though it lacks some features that Dropbox and Box have.

Pros

One of the biggest pros for OneDrive is how well it works with Microsoft Office 365 and Windows OS. It runs with minimal system resources and the ability to save directly to OneDrive from the apps is fantastic!

Cons

Previous versions of the OneDrive mobile application were clunky and had constant notifications asking me to upload photos. The newer version seems better, so hopefully this is fixed. The Microsoft customer service has always been underwhelming, and most issues are better solved by visiting the Microsoft forums and asking the community for help.

Storage platform but not as user friendly

Reviewed 3 years ago

I switched from box accounts to Microsoft one drive so it’s taking a while to adjust to the changes

Pros

Good storage, less outage and less possibility of getting hacked. Helps in working with several other users so collaborating is easier.

Cons

Difficult to have everything at one place - the shared items from personal items is so delineated that it’s difficult to keep track.

Great value for the price

Reviewed 6 years ago

Overall it was great for keeping cloud backups of the docs normally stored on the local machines.

Pros

We've migrated from Box to OneDrive just because it was included in our Office 365 subscription, and looked no back. While the functionality was not superior to Box, it still was very much usable so we stuck using it for the following 2 years.

Cons

-We had some issues with setting up sync for onedrive. -Search function was mediocre compared to Box's.
