What's great about Shopify is that it is constantly improving and the costs remain the same. I'm sure that any issues I have now will only get smaller or fully solved.

Shopify has been great as a shopper because it helps me have all of my information in one place.

Also the way that the hands held card reader is shaped is very nice. The software itself integrates smoothly with my Shopify store, and it runs perfectly.

Inability to set up a variable-priced item. To do this, the item must be rung in as a "Quick Sale", so there is no identification of sold products or inventory tracking.

I normally am trying to fit in when I can during my off hours so the more simple it is, the better for me.

Easy to navigate in the backend; can handle many users on the website at once; great customer service to reach out to.

We don't use barcodes, but I love that that's an option to make it even faster. But being able to search quickly for a item and add to cart worked great.

My favourite thing about this software is how user friendly it is. As someone with limited computer knowledge, I found the set and up upkeep to be very easy.

Simple set up, reasonable price point, easy to add and adjust our product offerings, so nice to have a system that does the "heavy lifting" for us by providing our online storefront, so to speak.

Overall  this is very convenient to use and i love how it integrates directly with shopify.

Shopify makes it easy to add and edit products to your library. It's great that it tracks inventory and can easily see sales and customer data.

If I had to complain it would be that there are some things you can't customize that you might be able to with one of the self hosted carts such as magento, woocommerce, or even magento 2.

Customer service was also very responsive to our needs.

The customer support is abysmal. Shopify screwed up the tax rates.

I used shopify POS for a pop up shop for my business. It was very easy to use, simple and functioning.

Over all it really makes selling items at events really easy and quick.

It was hard to set a temporary sales tax. I live in Oregon where we don't have a sales tax, but sometimes travel to other states for conventions or shows.

Although there are some minor imperfections, I continue to utilize Shopify POS because it remains the most user-friendly point-of-sale solution for my business. Moreover, I find the pricing to be reasonable.

Overall it's a great system once you can get all your information to set up which can be a bit tidious, but the finished product is exactly what you  need for your business

Best Way to Become an Online Seller

John:                                                  My name is John, and I am an author and editor with a company. It's a small company of about four employees. I give Shopify POS five out of five stars.
                                                       Before using Shopify POS, I was using Square and also probably PayPal for a while. These two methods were expensive, and I had tons of connectivity issues, which really slowed down the process and actually lost me a couple of sales.
                                                       So, we decided to use Shopify POS because, first of all, we were using Shopify, so we already had it integrated within our website and within our company, and so inventory and stuff showed up automatically when we were doing in-person conventions and using Shopify POS. So, it was pretty seamless. We were also able to use it with other people at other conventions that we weren't at. So they were also able to access Shopify POS to sell books at conventions where they were.
                                                       So, using Shopify POS, it was really, really easy. We had to get a card reader, and so the setup was pretty quick. We were already familiar with Shopify, but the POS system was basically point and click. It allowed us to set up different conventions in the books that we were selling, and all you have to do is just push a button on a screen and you're ready to go.
                                                       So the advice I'd give anybody starting to use Shopify POS is to practice. To get familiar with the system and to do all of your work first, setting up what products you want at that particular convention, and making sure all of those work. We ran into some issues early on that we thought that some books and stuff were on the system, but they weren't, so we found out that we spent about 10, 15 minutes before we're going to use it to make sure everything is set up and ready to go, and also that our card reader is set up because you need wifi in order to use the system. So we make sure all of that's set up before we ever begin a day of selling.

                                                       Before transitioning to Shopify POS, we literally were using a third-party vendor to run our bookstore and whatnot. And when that contract was over, and we brought our bookstore in-house, we were looking for a solution that would allow us to be able to sell both in-person and online. After doing a significant amount of research, we were able to find Shopify POS, which allowed us to be able to sell right here with the convenience of an iPad and allowed us to be able to sell to our students, our staff, our faculty. And it was just a fantastic decision.
                                                       Several of the reasons why we love Shopify POS is, first of all, you get to run a store on an iPad. It really doesn't get any simpler than that. It also has a great feature where you can integrate with a cash drawer and a receipt printer, again, both connected to that iPad. That makes things real simple, not having to buy super expensive hardware or third-party solutions there. Another thing I love is the fact that I can click and send an email or a text receipt to the person who's checking out, eliminating the need for a physical receipt if that's what they choose. I also love that Shopify POS allows me to customize the interface on the iPad so I can move buttons around. I can customize buttons. I can add discounts. All of that is customizable, which really makes things simple for us here.
                                                       You can actually also scan barcodes. So for us, we've got some barcodes on our merchandise, and you can literally take the iPad, scan that barcode, and it recognizes it right away, adds it to the customer's cart. The last thing that's great is that you can accept cash. You can use their own built-in Shopify payments or use a third-party vendor for your payment processing, which gives a lot of versatility. So those are some of the great reasons why we really love Shopify POS.
                                                       Getting started with Shopify POS was literally a piece of cake. I'm a pretty tech-savvy person, but some of my team members were not so tech-savvy. And the interface, the setup, it gives you a lot of control behind the scenes on the control panel and how you're setting things up. So literally building out your inventory, these things were all very, very simple to do. So when it came time to actually open up our shop, we felt like we had a really strong partner with Shopify POS, and it just made the whole implementation process very, very simple.
                                                       One of my recommendations if you're considering Shopify POS with other solutions is to really think about whether you can create a single inventory database to be able to both sell in-person and online. That's a significant selling point for using Shopify POS, the simplicity of being able to do online orders while also selling in person out of a single inventory. We haven't been able to find another vendor who does that well. And being able to have all that inventory under one umbrella was a strong consideration for us, and I'd encourage you to check that out as well.
