Contains the vast majority of required features to operate a successful e-commerce store. Nice layout, not too bulky, and sticks to what its good at.

Over the past 6 months this has gone from bad to worse. The odd hang, became frequent hangs, then time outs on the server.

The ability to customize reports in word is amazing. The team at Dear are still updating and improving the system.

DEAR is a fantastic system which will manage the inventory and sales/purchase process for various channels.

Frustrating, unsatisfying and I have real worries about the ability for the software to keep up with my business as it grows.

I also like that it has a fairly strong inventory management and production modules. Purchasing / Receiving is average but the WMS below average.

Its flexible to use, has ongoing gold standard support at no extra cost, has a great looking interface and has very customisable membership extras.

Although the integration process was challenging, DEAR team was there to help on every step of the way.

Ever since CIN7 took over DEAR Systems, the shift in focus from quality service to maximizing profits has been blatantly obvious. The deterioration in service is both rapid and frustrating.

Disappointment: Steer Clear of CIN7

We have used DEAR / Cin7 for 7 years now. Up until recently any bugs or issues that popped up would get resolved in a somewhat timely manner however now that has changed. They are focusing on rolling out new product features that are great for marketing while sacrificing having a system that actually just works. 
Do not onboard your company onto this software, you will regret it, as it seems the company who acquired DEAR has no intention of fixing the buggy nature of DEAR and just wants to try and focus on selling more subscriptions.

Buggy software with lots of issues and poor customer support

Cin7 Excellent Inventory Management

Promised a lot at the initial sales onboarding and specifically some items were not correctly allowed for. As such all new users will then need to add the $$$ add-ons with Cin7 which quickly diminishes the value of this software. Cin7 admits the failure and the requirement for add ons but would not offer a satisfactory outcome due to their mistake

A Powerful Tool for Managing My eCommerce Apparel Business

They do not seem to have a very good handle on their "Official" integrations. We have a Woocommerce store that does about 30,000 orders per month and we recently had an issue where no returns or refunds were being imported to DEAR. In the mean Time our CS agents were entering all credit notes and restocks manually in DEAR. It took almost 20 days of back and forth for DEAR to finally point out that their system was not receiving web hook notifications and was in polling mode. 20 days! 

New situation, shipstation integration just stopped working. Submitted a ticket with the error details and steps to reproduce. Instead of getting any meaningful feedback, instead of their technical team just simply trying to reproduce it on their end which they would obviously do if they were developing the integration, they replied back that they needed to know the request details that shipstation is trying to send. They want the JSON payload presumably. But how in the world can they develop an integration if they don't already know what that response is supposed to be? How can they develop it without having a shipstation account of their own to test? The answer is they do and they can but they don't. It is much more convenient for them to simply kick the can down the road by telling the tier one person they need more information. 

Growing SMBs / Midsized Companies are taking a chance with DEAR, Enterprise should avoid at all cost

New User Setup

If I could leave less than one star I would.We have been using similar software for over 6 years, but Cin7 Core acquired the company and to everyone's surprise decided to stop supporting it and we were forced to move to Cin7 Core , uniting us that it offers the same functionalities as the old system. The onboarding process was OK, but even then, we noticed that Cin7 Core has much less functionality than the previous software we used [sensitive content hidden]The real problems came when we launched the system and started actually using the Cin7 Core.We have several channels through which we sell: our own sites and a marketplace, and all our orders are processed by a 3PL ( fulfilment center) 

The worst and most useless support you can get. Terrible Software

Average when it was DEAR, improvements showing with Cin7 but many issues caused due to upgrades. Tax rules have been particularly challenging.

I am still learning and getting a feel for the system.  [sensitive content hidden] has been absolutely AMAZING during the trainings and helping me to get everything started properly for the switch over from Orderhive.

It does what I need and a little more. But takes a while to get going.

When a previous platform closed down in Australia (thanks Quickbooks Commerce) we were forced to look for another platform. We thought Dear was the one, but boy were we wrong. We used it for 12 months, but it was like we were working for the software, instead of the software working for us. One of the worst platforms I've ever used.

Powerful automation, great UI, and outstanding support

Steve:                                                 My name's Steve, I'm president of my company in the automotive industry, and I give Orderhive five stars.
                                                       We switched over from Brightpearl, which is an ERP system, to Orderhive. We didn't think that Brightpearl was the right product for us. The user interface is pretty dated, and it required a lot of clicking around to get any basic things done. We needed a product that could do two things, it could manage our inventory well, including our purchasing, and it could do automation of processing of orders, so backend order processing. And both products can do that, we felt that Orderhive had a cleaner, more contemporary user interface, it's automation engine is much, much stronger. The customer support has been much stronger. Brightpearl lacks a lot of the handholding that's necessary to onboard properly, and overall Orderhive offers a much greater value. It's monthly pricing, and even annual pricing is extremely competitive, and we felt that it was just a more beneficial process for us at a better price.
                                                       We chose Orderhive because Orderhive offered a quick onboard, strong automation, good inventory management, a user interface that's really a joy to work with. A manager and I who work in it all the time say that we're drawn to using it like a moth to flame. It's not a click intensive process, but instead you can get the work done and you can see the work as you're doing it, and that's pretty rare. I mean, it just feels streamlined. And on top of that, the customer support has been both technically, and just in terms of having somebody to talk to, has been absolutely outstanding. I would say that the product is India based. They do not have a US side customer service team, but they make themselves available on US time. So we have not had any issues with that, although you do need to learn to work with that.
                                                       Onboarding is always expensive, it takes a lot of labor, there's some wasted effort. But in this case, we found that onboarding on to Orderhive was actually pretty much as good as you can get. There is a lack of support articles and self-help, so you really are dependent on their team, but they have a good team. Their folks are right there with you, they feel ownership over your success. Early on we expressed some concerns during the sales process that we need more help than they could imagine, and they told us not to worry about it. And we weren't sure if that was just a sales pitch, but in the end, what we found was that they were right there, and that they did follow through on all their promises. We couldn't be any happier with the people at Orderhive and the way those people have supported us and taken on our problems as their problems. They often approach an issue as, let us see if we can figure out a way to make that happen, make your workflow work, rather than asking us to fit into their products. So that's been a pleasant surprise.
                                                       Any backend system that helps with inventory and order management needs to be scaled properly for your enterprise, and I think that we found one that works for us. I think a business that's very large and needs a full ERP system with order level or transaction level financial analysis, they wouldn't get everything they need out of Orderhive. but for us, where we can use our accounting software separately and look at numbers rather than just tracing every transaction to its exact margins, we don't need to do that, so we really are focused more on the labor efficiencies of having an automation system. In that case, Orderhive is perfect. It does a good job managing inventory and purchasing, and it does an excellent job of automating the order processing, and I think that that's who it's good for, and that's exactly what we needed.
