SurveyMonkey vs SoGoSurvey Comparison

Survey Monkey is easy to set up and use for basic surveys. I like the options for displaying the results and the surveys usually look bright and fun.

They didn't have some of the question types I needed for a particular survey I was designing for my research project so I had to use SoGoSurvey instead. The surveys don't look as "official" as other survey sites.

This software platform compared to its competitors like Qualtrics and SoGoSurvey offers a better User Interface and a smooth end-to-end product flow. It is really simple to create surveys and assessments in this platform and distribute and generate reports based on the data collected from participants. The overall usability is also pretty well thought off! I would love to appreciate this tool for its simplicity and it's user-centric focus as it keeps the most important features used by the public in mind. If you wish to purchase this, there are various packaging options too and it's a real value for money based on the features the package provides and based on your requirements. For an Indian, I would definitely recommend this tool.

The support team is really obnoxious! There are a lot of issues noticed at times and when we try connecting with the support, we don't hear instant feedbacks or resolutions. I personally believe SoGoSurvey does a wonderful job in this regard. Most of the features are missing as compared to its competitors making this a less preferred tool for k12 schools or other areas.

The overall flow from creating a survey to distributing and sharing it with others and obtaining responses and analyzing results based on the data obtained is pretty simple as compared to other competitors. The overall user experience and usability is 4 out of 5 and the UI is 3.5 out of 5. We are using SurveyMonkey for the last few years and how found it useful only because of the pricing, being the biggest advantage over other competitors. It generates decent visuals to represent the overall data collected, in different formats efficiently.

The overall quality of this software is ordinary and not that feature-packed as compared to other competitors especially SoGoSurvey and other top notch companies. It provides a decent user interface but the enhancements and overall flow is very difficult to understand. The support team is very poor in responding and does not give impromptu replies (have waited more than a day to hear back from them).

It is very easy to use. Much easier than SurveyMonkey and we've been using them for a long time.

You only get 15 surveys for the lowest tiered package (the basic, free) whereas others offer unlimited surveys.

It is user-friendly and has a clean interface. Additionally, it is a pretty easy process to generate questions needed for my surveys and in-depth interview guides (much easier than SurveyMonkey).

I have not used the research tool long enough to give a critique about the product; however, I can say that the task in trying to secure a student discount is pretty onerous.

Being able to save questions in a question bank, copy surveys to re-use after editing, and reviewing the survey before sending are wonderful features. I can send test surveys to others for review as well. Free upgrade for non-profit does increases our survey limit so we don't worry about losing survey results because we reached our limit. Customer service is the best with responses almost the minute you ask for help!!! This is huge for me! I hate waiting day(s) to get answers to solve problems I may encounter. I haven't had very many problems with SoGoSurvey, so I don't contact them often, but the few times I have, they have always responded promptly. We can download all the results we need, no need to print it all up in order to share with members of our organization.

Getting a QR code was not as intuitive as SurveyMonkey, but their customer service easily bypassed this problem. The benefits of SoGoSurvey heavily outweigh the few things I liked slightly better about SurveyMonkey. The first year we applied for the free upgrade we needed to provide a review of their product. Because we had not used them before this was a problem, but the company was willing to work with us on this so that we could provide an honest review.

Ease of design, administration and especially reporting.

I had trouble changing the color scheme when I copied a survey but I'm sure there is a quick fix if I'd taken the time to ask for help. Was doing it last minute and very late at night so didn't reach out.

As a marketing nerd, I LOVED using this software! I worked for a larger company when I used it, and oh my gosh it drove me crazy seeing companies our size using SurveyMonkey. This is a powerful tool with lots of data points for a large organization with a large data set.

Being a larger software can have its downsides... I now own a sole proprietorship and don't use this software. It's more than I need, and SurveyMonkey is better suited (and priced) for a business of my size.

Earlier I have tried many survey platforms such as Google Forms, SurveyMonkey, Typeform etc., but they all have many limitations in their free versions. Some dont allow more than 10 questions, while some dont allow conditional logic or accessing the analytics. For students, SoGoSurvey provides free upgrade to licensed features and saved hours of manual work while not costing you.

Nothing as such that I didn't like about the software. Nice features are present.

The simplistic design, the intuitive setup, and the clean presentation.

I have no complaints!

I like specificity the software allows me to do...skip patterns, rotate questions, standardized list, etc. I am also able to track who responds to my surveys and avoid "ballot stuffing". As a marketing research consultant, it provides WAY more usability features when compared to SurveyMonkey or even Google surveys. Additionally, SOGO allows me to customize each survey to fit my client's brand image. Providing my client's with up-to-the-minute results through SOGOs customize reports is also pretty slick.

Initially, I struggled with email invitations getting through my client's customers fire wall - this would result in many surveys not being received and ultimately a poor response rate. SOGO developed a 'text only' survey invitation allowing the survey invite to reach the inbox of the intended recipient. I would like to be able to have access to their panel. However, as I understand it, I was told my "premium" level doesn't afford that.

Our organization is a modest size (few hundred members) and this is the first time we're putting out a survey. We started out by trying to build this simple survey in SurveyMonkey, but kept running into issues where they required us to buy more expensive plans. SoGoSurvey on the other hand had all those features available in the free and trial level, and then we found out about their discounted pricing for education, non-profits, etc. All the features, easy to use interface and meaningful pricing sealed the deal.

We're just getting started with the software, and so far, no issues.
