Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

ratepay overview
What is ratepay?
Ratepay operates in financial services as a direct provider of white-label Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) products in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and The Netherlands. The company enables large online retailers (merchants and marketplaces such as Ebay, IKEA, Eurowings, ShopApoteke, Flyeralarm, or About You) to offer end-customers (buyers) the possibility to pay for products or services via open invoice, direct debit, or in installments.
Being natively integrated at checkout, Ratepay is invisible to the buyers and does not dilute the merchant’s brand and trustworthiness. Buyers are not required to abandon the checkout interface and create an additional account or download an app and therefore, constantly remain in the brand world of the merchant.
This leads to a higher conversion rate, an increased average basket size, and more repeat purchases. Being truly invisible also means that Ratepay does not interact with buyers retargeting them with promotions and discounts that lead them to other merchants (or even competitors) to generate referral fees. This enhances the overall customer experience while protecting the reputation of the merchant and boosting customer loyalty.
Key benefits of using ratepay
This means that:
- Throughout the entire process, customers only interact with the merchant’s brand they’re already familiar with and trust
- The entire payment experience occurs within the merchant’s checkout interface. At no point are customers redirected to an external payment platform or requested to create an account or download an application
- After selecting a deferred form of payment such as open invoice, customers only need to provide their email address, name, date of birth, and home address and the system automatically accepts or rejects the transactions in milliseconds without them ever abandoning the merchant’s store
- Customer care, communications, and payment operations are carried out by Ratepay in the name of the merchant in their look & feel
