Pros

The ease of creating a quote, changing it to an invoice once the client has accepted it, is a great add on. The ability to add inventory items on the fly is very welcoming.
Finances are easier to keep up to date and more frequently, the software updates are seamless, the reports are great, the integrations are outstanding, and the service is super.
On the dashboard you can see clearly, outstanding invoices and overdue invoices. This is essential for our team to access these numbers quickly and clearly.

Pros

Great tool-- from what I know, this is the only provider that does what Hubdoc does. I love all the features and tools available that are offered.
The fetch technology is world class. This is a great product that I recommend to accountants and bookkeepers.
Hubdoc is one of our favorite apps here at Entreflow, it's a perfect place for us to store all of our client's documentation.

Cons

Remember clear that when there was some technical problem the take no accountability. First It made me angry but then everything arranged.
Constant problems with integrated software for synching with bank & transactions. EXTREMELY poor customer service and it's ALWAYS the other software regardless of the problem.
There is no simple customer sales reports available. Quite ridiculous for a financial platform.

Cons

So much of my time has been invested into just trying to log in through Hubdoc. It only works with BofA and with the other two it just keeps giving me nonsense error messages.
The sale taxes feature is broken for Quebec users. The half-tax rule for meals and entertainment simply does NOT work.
I even passed security verification through Hubdoc with PNC but the message just says "having problem communicating.

Once you spend some time, it becomes easy to use, the interface is pretty colorful as well with different colored Favicons for different modules.

Pros

It offers the most features and integrations including a free Hubdoc account. For partners, it also has Xero Ledger and Xero Cashbook plans which are even cheaper for clients with limited requirements.

Cons

Before starting to use the software, you have to dedicate some time to understand its workflows as they are quite unique from other accounting software

Pleased I jumped to Xero

It took a while to get used to it after using Sage for 30 years but I'm so glad I jumped ship. It does far more by way of integration, especially now since their collaboration with Hubdoc

Pros

I like the integration and automatic information sharing between bank accounts and on line services from bank and xero

Cons

I often get rejections from payroll and pension provider. I simply can't fix it. I've asked for support but get no meaningful responses.

I can't wait for it to be finished!

It's a lot of money to get setup with a certified consultant. Very few consultants available in Canada. When we did find one she was great but she bills you for every second she works. As in not any free advice. My lawyer is easier to work with.

Pros

As a former quickbooks user of about 20 years, it was a big deal to switch platforms. At first glance it looked like it would do everything we wanted. I loved the price point, the interface and relative ease of use. The multi currency was great as was the ability to integrate with Stripe. You make a lot of compromises to save on the huge monthly cost of quickbooks but there are workarounds.

Cons

There are so many things that are just common/must have's for any business. Things like progressive billing, job costing and even the ability to make your own journal entries are missing. We had to hire a consultant and spend around $800 just to get it to add purchases easier to the mix with HubDoc. You see job costing catagories at the invoice level but not software or 3rd party app to back it...

Mostly positive. It is pricey but now included in the monthly cost of Xero

Pros

Fetching of popular bank statements and accounts is great - saves much time. The auto organization is also good if a bit confusing for new users

Cons

Xero just purchased this company which makes me leery of using it as a QBO user. I am considering moving to Xero now...

Automated Bookkeeping... Almost

Generally happy with the product and I recommend it to my clients

Pros

Ease of sending invoices / receipts via multiple options. Fetching of bank and supplier statements. Fetches bank statements in .csv which is great for manual importing into Xero Ledger. Fast and helpful tech support.

Cons

Usually needs some user input to push transactions to Xero correctly.

Hubdoc

I had no idea how much I needed this!

Before Hubdoc I was having to manually create bills and upload & attach receipts in Xero. It wasn't bad, but Hubdoc saves several steps in the process. The OCR works great, too, and it recognizes my repeating monthly invoices and files them under the correct vendor. Truly a great timesaver.

Pros

Being able to synchronize with Xero is awesome. I love being able to upload my business bills & receipts and have them publish to Xero tied in to the right vendors and accounts.

Cons

I have yet to discover anything I don't like about using Hubdoc. It's fast, simple, and secure. No complaints.
