I work as a consultant with the tool and use it to work on all supply chain management issues, from improving forecasts, sales and operations planning, material requirements planning, process automation and automated master data maintenance to supply chain and logistics strategy.
It is fun to work with the tool and turn the cogs to continuously improve the efficiency of the supply chain.The dynamic interaction of markets, items and planning algorithms has become so complex that it is hard to think through it and find the right settings from experience. The simulation engine in DISKOVER is a fantastic tool for testing strategies and solutions. You can use it in such a way that it even automatically finds the optimal parameter settings. And the Ruleset Engine acts like an expert system in which the complete logistics strategy of a company can be mapped.
I like practically everything about it. But what I observed is that some planners who are used to make replenishment decisions manually dislike the automation features because they fear that they have less possibilities to play the game in their own way. But this perception is not really true. If the users are given the appropriate rights, they can still override everything manually in DISKOVER. But fortunately the tool is so good that you don't have to be granted these rights.
Dear Hendrik, thank you so much for the in-depth review and sharing your observation regarding the users' fear of 'losing power', so to speak. This phenomenon always baffles us as well, since DISKOVER is meant to lighten the daily work load of the users - which will naturally require to shift responsibilities towards the tool and off the user's back. But usually, once the users have experienced the results of letting DISKOVER do its job, they relax and appreciate their virtual co-worker.

DISKOVER offers a brought variety of showing and using optimization potential. By using this software we have now the ability to have a robust data set up in our planning processes.
Ability to be adapted to reflect 100% our needs in regard to planning, optimization and tranparency. Implementation was a very constructive process, customer support ist very helpful. DISKOVER brings a huge benefit to us.
DISKOVER is run by a rather small company. As this might be a pro during implementation etc., there is always the risk that some key players might leave the software company and knowledge could get lost

We are still on the run for small step by step improvements - but in general we are satisified with what we have implemented
We were able to increase our planning efficiency, transparency and quality even more, due to DISKOVER’s flexible standards
We are on the way to salve some performance problems to make the software "faster"

„Our key experience with DISKOVER: We saw a screenshot and immediately found all the information we needed. The special thing about the cooperation with SCT GmbH: The developers take up ideas very quickly and implement them just as quickly. That is customer-oriented work!“
The visual structure is clear, easy to adapt to users wishes and gives you on one look all information that are needed. Also jumping from one view to additional information connected the with item is easy.
Setting of rules is so easy that you might create too many and finally loose control and view.

Due to DISKOVER SCO, we now have a virtually unified, global production site, which has increased transparency enormously. We can now in- or decrease inventory levels much more precisely. Plus, we can monitor the company’s current state and thus determine the next steps. Our inventory goals, which are connected to our promise of delivery and the company’s KPIs, are now determined clearly, as needed and transparently.
There are no negative attributes i would take into consideration.
