Pros

Excellent customer support. Company had a blog and podcast worth checking out if you want to learn about great strategies for working remotely or for management techniques.
This software was used by an executive pastor I hired and it had great channels to utilize and overall worked seamlessly. Once I figured out it was very intuitive and helpful.
Benefits are that company can post all my projects on there for me to access. Improvement can be made for making the website more appealing and maybe having a more reliable search bar.

Pros

A good advantage is the presence of a strong community that helps to find answers quickly. Smartsheet also makes quite easy to share results with teammates.
Unfortunately any system is only as good as the people who use it and I am constantly looking for systems that I can make as foolproof as possible. Smartsheet is the best I found to date to do this.
It's a fantastic way to share information and get teams collated. We use it for a variety of different reasons, so it's great to see the new features coming in.

Cons

Since there are no categories or threads, conversations get lost inside Campfire and it is quite difficult to find specific things that were discussed in the past.
Finding the BaseCamp is sometimes difficult. I have lost the link and was delayed in accessing the info.
The lack of tagging or labels in projects is a bit of a limitation, although ultimately only a minor annoyance in the overall workflow.

Cons

There is not a lot to gripe about SmartSheets other than on occasion, the app can lag or suffer an error and finding what error it is and how to fix it can be a little frustrating.
The continuous loss of features for unlicensed with insufficient notice.
I have all positive comments for this tool but sometimes when it keeps on giving notification that thing I dislike. Otherwise I have no dislikes about smartsheet.

Basecamp

Very easy to establish collaboration on projects

So far, so good.

Pros

Setting up an account is not difficult to do. Then, beginning to manage different projects via the software is fairly easy to do. The ease with which one may monitor the progress of the project is a big plus. The fact that automatic updates and maintenance to the software are not necessary is a significant bonus. The organization of project aspects into "to do" lists, with their dates, and the names of workers solves a lot of problems. The feature which allows real time "chats" and meetings among project participants is a useful one. The cost of this software is VERY reasonable when compared to the features which it offers.

Cons

The software lacks the Smartsheet and Teamwork features. It lacks time-tracking features.

Clunky and not intuitive

We ended up moving fairly quickly to SmartSheet. As we found out more of what we needed from a collaboration tool, we saw that SmartSheet checked off more of those boxes.

Pros

We were attracted by the marketing and sales process. The name was catchy too. We were in need of a collaboration software ASAP and this did come recommended from a customer.

Cons

It was not very intuitive. We felt features for project tracking/management were missing. There was no "onboarding process" to ensure we trained well on the product. We had to figure it out.

Awesome! It feels good to complete a project with clear communication and project planning that are some of the primary features Basecamp provides.

Pros

I like the communication aspect it brings to every project. It eases the team-collaboration process on large projects and allows us to break it down into simple to-dos and assign them to specific members of our team.

Cons

The only con is the cost compared to other project planning platforms such as JIRA and Smartsheets.

Pros

Better in certain ways than Smartsheet, it offers me more freedom to do what I need and has an easier navigation as well as less lists that are harder to manage and monitor

Cons

As much as it may seem more useful, I don't completely love the "to do" list. Sometimes others in the company who see it may misinterpret what actually needs to be done

Knowledge and confidence that projects are being managed properly, and adjustments are quickly reflected, esp for scheduling purposes.

Pros

Its ease of use (very intuitive) and flexibility. Whether it's a small or large/long-term project, Basecamp can handle it without adding complexity along the way.

Cons

Cons - goodness, hard to find at least 100 characters for cons. Wish it had some of the intuitive spreadsheet interface of Smartsheet (or at least the option for it since there are times Smartdheet is the 'right/better tool for the job').

Basecamp

Been using it for 6 years and love it.

It keeps everyone on our marketing and design team on the same page. It helps our team manage projects by breaking each one into separate smaller tasks and trails. As a graphic designer, I never have an issue uploading artwork proofs or final print files. It's an easy, one-stop hub for our team. I love it.

Pros

I like that it easily keeps all of our marketing managers, trafficking manager, designers, and developers in constant contact. I like being able to upload artwork files directly into the message boards. Also, the search function is easy. Email notifications keep me in constant contact. I can easily reply to message boards via the link in emails. Love it.

Cons

Sometimes the number of emails and updates gets to be too much. I'm sure this is probably something that I can limit through settings. Also, our team still uses this software in conjunction with SmartSheet, which we use for high-level, birds eye updates.

Pros

I am one who used to think Basecamp isn't a 'real' project management app because it doesn't have all the features of traditional project management like Gantt charts, resource leveling, and all that stuff. So I tried some that do and then noticed most of those features don't actually get used that much after the initial excitement wears off. The problem with a lot of that is that you end up spending...

Cons

I wish it had some kind of web form data entry onboarding feature to facilitate using it with clients. Also wish it had a gmail gadget and direct integration with Google Apps.
