Used for years, but don't anymore

2019-02-04

Pros

Basecamp is very easy to use and was the ultimate project management platform for me for years. We would create projects and tasks very simply. It saved emails being lost and tasks overlooked. We used these for small projects and ongoing work. For teams and individuals.

Cons

Over time, most people switched to Trello and we found fewer companies wanted to use Basecamp with us.

Is there Trello integration?

Pros

Great to get started with simple success. No need to learn new platform, this platform is naturally easy.

Cons

I used basecamp for only a couple of weeks before deciding that I did not get on well with it.

2018-06-07

None, I prefer Trello

Pros

I love the basecamp user interface and design, however it's a shame that this couldnt be matched with good functionality.

Cons

The functionality. I feel it missing a lot of features possessed by competitors and the software simply does not run as smoothly as these competitors.

A great project management application for creatives & multi team projects.

2018-06-21

Basecamp is a feature rich project management platform, that at one time allowed us to easily task our projects together and assign work as a nucleus.

Pros

Basecamp has a UI that has been definitely refined by a UI team to flow very well. It does an excellent job of having a multitude of methods in communicating updates and assigning individual items due dates that are visible.

Cons

I think I prefer using Trello over Basecamp, and Trello is free for the vast majority of the features.

Basecamp. Good for simple projects and small teams.

2019-01-24

We used to manage projects on Basecamp but we soon graduated to Trello then JIRA

Cons

Superior to Freedcamp and Trello in many ways, but not enough to pay for

2018-05-16

Pros

Compared to the per-user premium pricing of things like Trello, the flat fee per month is great.

Cons

It costs money up front and is not really that much better than free alternatives like Freedcamp or Trello. For startups or small businesses, the hassle of using a couple different free platforms (Slack & Trello at our office along with G Suite for businesses) is worth saving.

Powerful project management, but not as visual as Trello

2018-12-05

Pros

I tried Basecamp when I was looking for a more powerful alternative to Trello. I did find that it was more powerful and had some of the options I was looking for, but I ended up continuing to use Trello.

Cons

To effectively implement BaseCamp, your team or organization must have an all-in approach

2019-02-13

Overall I would say if your business needs all of the functionality that BaseCamp offers, and aren't already fully integrated with solutions it can replace, there is tremendous value. We ended up switching after realizing we preferred many stand-alone tools we had already gotten accustomed to. There is also a tremendous cost savings that can be had if you have a large organization (50+ users even benefits greatly from the pricing model, 1000+ can be a real budget saver)

Pros

-Replaces various other tools that may add up to cost savings and simplification -Keeps all project management in one space -Chat features are quite robust -Metrics and visualizations make real-time progress easy to track -Global search function is incredibly useful

Cons

-Not using all of its function may be cost-prohibitive -Some of the applications it replaces are better stand-alone (Slack, Trello)

Good but could be better

2017-10-20

The main advantage is competitive pricing if you actually have a lot of users who use this project management tool. It has basic features such as scheduling and prioritizing, hence, it's easy to use. They have a good team of customer service representatives as well.

Pros

- Good tool to coordinate with members on different projects - It has basic necessary features such as a calendar, to-do list, messaging, schedules and prioritization - Can be used for internal or external collaboration - Simple and clean design

Cons

- Not that great for complex projects - Competitors such as Trello are much easier to use with better features - No weekly reporting capability

Trello is a GUI based team collaboration app

2018-10-24

Its an ok app that for some people will be perfect, but I personally like the way Basecamp breaks up projects over Trello's teams and cards.

Pros

It's not to hard to setup overall and tries to do some of what Basecamp does.

Cons

It seems like a better looking Basecamp, but in all other factors seems to fail to achieve basecamps usefulness.

Pros

Trello is an awesome kanban-style management tool

2018-05-15

Pros

I use Trello the most as a secondary project management system. I've found that it's excellent for large projects with a lot of moving pieces and initiatives that need to be tracked across statuses. For example, we use it for websites where we can move bugs or features from "to do" "doing" "needs review" "approved" "live" - etc

Cons

It's great software for what it does, but it's hard to use as a Basecamp or Active Collab replacement.

I used it for a long time, and still do on some items, but clients did not understand the use of trello.

Pros

If you are using Trello for a technical team or projects it is awesome! Easy columns to manage tasks and tasks can drag and drop as well as continue down the rabbit hole as far as they need to.

Trello is a great task manager. I'm able to work with my colleagues and manage tasks much easier than controlling it manually.

Pros

It's one of several software sites I'm exploring for use with clients who are intimidated by Basecamp and Google docs.

Pros

I really like the graphical interface. I'm a visual user and having graphic elements to prod my memory helps a lot.

Trello is Basecamp for visual people

2019-01-01

Trello allowed me to stay on top of my projects and visually see where I was with each one until it was completed.

Pros

Super simple user interface! It's quite rewarding being able to move your task from it's inception to to completion and see it all along the way. It's makes project management super easy and even kind of fun!

Cons

I didn't get to use Trello very long because our company moved to Basecamp, but when we were on it, I loved it!

Project Management Has Never Been So Easy!

2018-08-31

Pros

Been using Asana & Basecamp for various projects and been doing cross-collaboration with different teams.

Cons

Nothing as such. When you have too many tasks running at parallel, your board might look a little messed up.

Great little software

2018-10-02

Pros

For small projects it is the perfect, user-friendly layout to get visually organized.

Cons

This is not a heavy PM tool, and sometimes I find myself starting projects within Trello only to realize that there are too many limitations and wanting to move my planning to Basecamp.

I found Basecamp much more user friendly for my purposes

2018-03-06

Visually appealing not as great to navigate

Pros

For me, Basecamp works better but for many of my collegues Trello works better.

Cons

I found it difficult to organize my projects/clients information. It did not feel as user friendly for me as I would like.

When you just need to get going on a project, there's nothing better

2019-03-02

I can't really comment on the likes of Basecamp and Asana, having only been invited to other's workspaces, but have used Monday.com fairly extensively and yet still return to Trello for personal organisation and projects.

Pros

- The Free option gives you everything you need to get going (and their Freemium model works well—I've already gotten enough value out of Trello to be feel happy upgrading as the team grows) - There's very little (if anything) to learn to get going - Completely customisable, and super flexible. There are enough power-ups to make any style of project work - Super collaborative. Easy to bring people in to cards and notify them of upcoming deadlines, as well as share boards with those outside of the organisation. - Has a fantastic cross-device experience. It's just as easy to jump into a board on mobile

Cons

Honestly, I really cannot think of any cons to Trello right now, hence why I keep returning despite having had the opportunity to work in more expensive project management software.

Simple task management software with tons of features for professional use.

2018-05-31

Trello helps our company to manage wordkflows, tasks and clients. Reall helpful piece of software!

Pros

Tons of plugins and features can be added with connecting Trello to other services like Basecamp or Harvest.

Cons

Adaptivness to smaller screens is not the greatest. Also it woud be nice to be able to remove features not requied to current workflows.

A great way to organize your day and keep track of various projects

2018-06-13

Trello keeps me organized with their simple, visual interface. Great for personal use or tackling small projects at work.

Pros

As a free platform, I think Trello is better than Asana and Basecamp.

Cons

I like to be able to customize the layouts, workflows, and other things I can do in Asana and Basecamp but only come with the paid plans.
