Frequently asked questions when selecting mobile eCommerce apps

Here are some common questions you can ask your vendors while looking for the best eCommerce mobile application.

  • Does the eCommerce mobile app visualize metrics?

Data that is visualized and presented in the form of charts, graphs, and tables is easier to read and understand. Checking if an eCommerce app visualizes data, such as sales trends, customer behavior, and marketing campaign results, ensures you can clearly understand the points. This helps in making informed decisions, identifying areas for improvement, and optimizing strategies for better results. Easy-to-interpret visualizations save time and reduce the complexity of data analysis, enabling you to focus on growth and efficiency.

  • To what extent does the eCommerce mobile app allow store customization?

Some mobile commerce apps allow you to customize both the design of your store and the products, providing a cohesive brand experience and tailored functionality. Others may only support product customization, limiting your ability to create a unique store appearance and optimize the user interface. Ensuring the app supports comprehensive customization helps align the app with your specific branding and operational needs. This customization aids in enhancing customer satisfaction and adapting to business growth.

  • Does the app support integration with third-party tools?

Integration with tools such as payment gateways, marketing platforms, and inventory management systems enhances the app's functionality and simplifies workflows. This compatibility reduces manual data entry, minimizes errors, and improves efficiency. Additionally, integrated tools can provide advanced features and analytics, supporting better decision-making and growth strategies.

Methodology

To be considered for this list, products had to:

  1. Have at least 20 unique product reviews published within the past two years that mention mobile-specific capabilities (based on text analysis), with an average rating of 4.0 or higher as of May 21, 2024.

  2. Meet our definition for eCommerce software: “eCommerce software enables businesses to conduct transactions for goods and services wholly or partially over the Internet. Typical features for eCommerce applications include online shopping carts, product cataloging, customer accounts, order tracking, and website management.”

  3. Have the highest percentage of positive sentiment (versus neutral or negative sentiment). We calculated the sentiment score by identifying the positive and negative user sentiment specifically around mobile app usage.

*Mobile features of interest were identified from vendor websites. Our research team selected the features considering what we know users expect or find important in a mobile experience.

Review excerpts are passages extracted from longer reviews written by verified reviewers. We obtain these excerpts by applying an algorithm that considers factors including, but not limited to, length, topic coverage, and thematic relevance. Excerpts are evaluated for positive or negative sentiment and receive a sentiment score.

Excerpts represent user opinion and do not represent the views of, nor constitute, an endorsement by GetApp or its affiliates. Excerpts are not edited for clarity or grammar.

We select and rank products based on an objective methodology developed by our research team. While some vendors may pay us when they receive web traffic or leads, this has no influence on our methodology.
