AdvancedMD for Mental Health is a cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) and practice management solution designed for therapy-specific clinicians and providers. The system is suitable for both solo physician practices and large, multi-provider groups across counseling, psychology, psychiatry, speech therapy, occupational therapy, chiropractic & physical therapy.

AdvancedMD for Mental Health includes more than 40 templates for mental health, behavioral health, and rehab documentation. Templates can be customized or built from scratch, and users can also create custom subnotes for secondary complaints. Telemedicine capabilities allow users to conduct virtual consultations with patients who may be elderly, housebound, or in rural locations. Telemedicine can also be used to offer in-house consultations with specialists rather than referring patients to other practices. Insurance billing and self-pay are both supported, with a centralized claims center enabling management of the full claims process from charge capture to reimbursement.

AdvancedMD includes appointment reminders designed to reduce late arrivals and no-shows, sent out via email and SMS. Patients can confirm their appointments through a link in the reminder message, and cancel appointments via text or email according to user-defined minimum cutoff times. More than 150 reports can be generated and customized using the report center, and users can also create their own reports with the ad-hoc reporting tool. Benchmarking allows users to compare their performance with their peers.
