THE Post-Production Solution

2021-05-31

AMAZING, solid, robust and (if well calibrated) unmatched!

Pros

Fusion Page is practically an other software (compositing software) for VFX, Fairlight Page the same (a complete audio solution) and Delivery Page a semple, clear export function.

Cons

Especially for Project Management. It need a High performance machine... especially GPU.

it does half the work for you before you even start

2021-06-15

A skill which now allows me to produce our success story videos and partner engagement video content. Often from videos shot with poor cameras, but with Resolve, the finished product is always beautiful.

Pros

my personal favorite is the wide ranging LUTs available for use, even in the free version. With these freely accessible presets, I save a whole lot of time from not having to do the all the tweaking and adjustments manually. Additionally, I can make changes to existing presets and customize them to my own preferences.

Cons

And the downloadable third party plugins have always ended up crashing my system.

a Fully Free Featured Video Editing Software

2020-10-11

Satisfied using it and would recommend to anyone i know that works in Art & design

Pros

- Free, i can not imagine how can this fully featured software be free - Mature based user, means better problem solving are readily available. if you have questioned just google with the top result are your friend - Easy to use - Many free transition available

Cons

I move from Power Director which is easy, just drag & drop render done, Davinci Resolve is for Professional use video editing user, still drag and drop but there are many variable to consider (frame rate, res, preview res) - rendering, sometime need can stop mid way if you use a lot of transition, there's a setting for that. - rendering doesnt fully use the available ram, i am using i7 dual channel 16GB ddr5, but when rendering only took 3gigs, even though i permit it to use all of it. - workflow, inconsistency and slow loading preview rendering for high-res editing.

New Kid on the block

2021-07-15

The best feature about Davinci Resolve is its capabilities for collaboration in teams and also each team member have separate timelines.

Pros

Davinci Resolve might be a new kid on the block but it comes packed with a lot of tools all in one.

Cons

As much the suit it self its cheap to buy, but the others tools like control panels are also very expensive to buy.

Full Featured NLE for Content Creators at an Accessible Price Point

2021-05-31

It's not hard to use if you are used to similar software yet it's very powerful and full featured.

Pros

Lastly, like most software, there is an abundance of instructional videos on YouTube from third party content creators on how to use Resolve which has been very helpful in ramping up my skillset quickly.

Cons

I'm hard pressed to find any cons so far. My experience with Resolve has been primarily a positive one thus far.

The Best Free Video Ediing Tool

2021-09-28

Absolutely love it. I use it in editing all the videos I post on Youtube and the quality is very impressive

Pros

Easy and excellent video editing tools Fusion is amazing for creating different effects The free version is far better than many other paid video editing software available online I also like that I can download it on my system and access it anytime without an internet connection Export as mov , mp4 or even to youtube direct should you want

Cons

Takes a bit of getting used to as a result of the many functions and tools. So you will need to take a couple of hours to learn how to use the software.

The best there is.

2021-09-30

Transition and effect libraries have more than enough options. The exporting process deserves a shout out - it has prebuilt channel-specific export templates, i.e.

Pros

DaVinci is one of the few software tools that I am genuinely happy to open and start using.

Cons

It's also a bit less user-friendly than other bigger name film editing tools. If you have experience using film editing software, the transition won't be too bad as it operates essentially the same as the others.

Limitless possibilities, diminutive price tag

2021-05-20

My small bit of video editing work for a local group is a breeze and takes me much less time than in Premiere Pro.

Pros

I also really like the simple exports straight to video services like Vimeo and YouTube.

Cons

I have experienced some difficulties understanding and using the export tool, great if you want to just go with whatever it suggests but more tricky if you want to customise.

Davinci Resolve is a powerful video, audio editor and animation creator

2021-04-18

Its main benefit is to attend all stages of content production such as video editing, animations, colorization, audio editing and video export.

Pros

It also accepts import of subtitles from other software, with the possibility of editing them easily.

Cons

In its version for Linux it is not possible to edit videos in MP4 format, needing to convert them to MOV format. It does not accept the customization of some shortcuts.

Excellent video editor for enthusiasts who need free and powerfull features

2021-05-07

I've learn to do color corrections, edit and equalize audio, import effects (video and audio) and a lot more.

Pros

It's really free for almost all features. Works really well also with old Macbook pro computers.

Cons

A lot of frequently updates. Some features (not so professional ones) cost money. Need a lot of time to understand to use certain features if you are familiar with simpler free editors.

Davinci Resolve free is all you need for most small to medium scale video editing projects

2020-09-06

Pros

The free version of Resolve is by far the most functional and feature rich video editing software out there.

Cons

If you're moving from Adobe Premiere, you're going to miss the ability to import content from other apps directly inside of your project.

Simple to Use Editing Software

2021-07-07

DaVinci is fast, powerful and reliable. If you have ever used an editing software, DaVinci ranks among the best and is extremely affordable.

Pros

I enjoy the variety of export format options for projects.

Cons

There is a learning curve with working with the project manager and setting up the database. Project files aren't the easiest to navigate in your PC's folders.

2021-06-07

Overall the tool gets the job done at the end of the day.

Pros

There are loads of features and effect library considering it is a free tool. The text intro library is quite extensive for video intros and credits.

Not the best for Multi-Camera

2021-08-22

Pros

As an industry-leading colour grading software, DaVinci Resolve is at the top of the list for our team to colour grade all our work once the EDLs have been imported from Premiere Pro.

Cons

Our organisation stuck with Adobe Creative Suite due to the integration it has with Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.

great program to editing videos

2020-10-21

it s great, i think for a free program its the best program that you will find.

Pros

its free to use all functions, doesn t have a logo in the video after editing and its seems to be easy to use.

Cons

could be more easy to use, i think most of the features is kind of hidden and its a little complicated to find.. but the most problem with the program is the fact that you can t export audio files like MP3... if i edit something and just want the audio, i have to save as MP4... i d like the possibility to export just the audio of the thinks that i edit.

DaVinci is a good option for....starters

2021-08-04

DaVinci is a good software for "emergencies" it can really provide a variety of options for a simple video or a large scale production, but if you can afford other program. You should ditch DaVinci whenever you can.

Pros

The things that I really like about a good software is their friendliness towards the user (even if you dont edit so much) DaVinci Resolve, provides a really easy to use interface to edit content, from simple productions to large scale.

Cons

Unfortunately even if its a good option for new editors, DaVinci hides its best potential behind the paywall of its "payement features" Also there are other softwares in the market that do a better job; like Final Cut or Adobe Premiere.

Incredibly powerful all-in-one editing suite.

2021-07-27

It has allowed me to output content much faster especially when comparing the color grading to Adobe Premier.

Pros

It has a simple workflow-driven framework that is easy to follow.

Cons

It requires a pretty powerful machine if you are trying to do anything but cut and edit. Also you need to have a decent size screen to fit everything in front of you.

be a professional for free

2021-06-01

the interface is ok, user-friendly enough. some option can be hidden but i directly got used to them. resolve can also be very practical in the way it manages the video parts that you are adding to the timeline, they are easy to manipulates, and to replace keeping the same effects and editing. those are some minor tips that makes lot of difference!

Pros

this software is free, so i don't see any reason not giving it a try. open YouTube, and you'll get tons of one minute tutorials for this software. I learned this software by my self.

Cons

to work on this software, you need a good pc, it is understandable, but it limits the accessibility to many that doesn't have the adequate hardware. another con is that some important tools are not available, it it made my work slow and tricky.

Wow so much functionality

2021-06-29

We are creating video content for a training course and are new to video editing.

Pros

This product does so much! Anything you want to customize about a video, you can do it with DaVinci Resolve.

Cons

DaVinci Resolve is overwhelming for someone new to video editing. There are so many buttons and settings, and I have no clue what they all do. I use a couple YouTube how-to videos for guidance.

My awesome experience with DaVinci Resolve

2021-08-08

Love the product I'm glad it exists, DaVinci is great quality and I love editing without disruption or bugs. Better than Protools, Adobe premiere and Prologic X.

Pros

My favorite part about this software is its quality and real time editing capabilities. Hardly any bugs or fixes needed.

Cons

The black screen could bea lighter color to prevent eye strain and perhaps a couple of more templates could help maybe more sound fx too.
