Very reliable and secure with a good future outlook
Paypal is very safe to use. If a website does not accept Paypal that's a red flag. I have an experience where I never received an item from ebay and I paid through Paypal and was able to get the issue resolved with little trouble
I wish it bought Venmo because Paypal does not have a social presence like Venmo does, but if they either bought Venmo or had personal money sending like Venmo then game over.

PayPal is an easy way to pay or get paid. You dont have to physically have a credit card reader in order to receive money. It is nice to be able to pay on the go.
PayPal is comparable to Venmo, and personally I prefer Venmo slightly more because it is a tiny bit easier.

I believe more online services accept Paypal than any other of my payment apps that I have used. I also have a Paypal debit card now, so I get a percentage back, which is great. Definitely my tried and true payment app that I use more than most.
I can use Paypal pretty much anywhere for my online shopping, they do offer some great deals with their debit/credit card plans too.
It doesn't link to Facebook like Venmo does, and just seems a bit dated now, compared with Venmo.

Honestly for me it’s my preferred safest method of payment
I’ve used PayPal for years to send and request money in my craft business. It’s easy to set up and use and many people are familiar with it. So most have an account.
Venmo doesn’t charge for use like PayPal does. Others are using Venmo for that reason. It charges if you send money

PayPal is a more established company and I feel safe sending money through their website.
Not quite as easy to use as Venmo. Doesn’t have the same “community” feel as Venmo with their public feeds.

Secure, reliable payment service that links easily to all the major banks and credit services.
PayPal was the first mainstream payment service to make it and set the standard on reliable, easy person to person payment services. The UI has improved over time, I’ve never had a transaction glitch or fail. The security appears to be top notch.
I think PayPal over time is losing to other payment services like Venmo due to ease of use and mobile adoption. I only use PayPal and Venmo for personal transactions and Venmo over time is winning the UI battle.

Despite not being able to be used on Amazon or Venmo, having Paypal at the ready makes internet transactions seamless.
Nearly universal integration makes the app so easy to use. It's nice when purchasing something online and not have to pull out my credit card number each time.
The only con is that I can't transfer money between Venmo and Paypal, for whatever reason. Especially odd because Venmo is a Paypal product.

It's great, I feel very comfortable using them without worry that you have when giving a 3rd party your financial information. Also they have protections in place for purchasers and businesses.
A way to transfer money or pay for items online without directly using your bank or credit card information. You can feel more comfortable paying online if you can use paypal and not enter your bank or credit card information directly. Also a great way to pay friends and family without having to go to the bank and pay with cash.
I like the interface and ease of use of Venmo better, but Venmo is a PayPal company. So it's basically old-school and new-school of the same product. PayPal is more widely used while Venmo is really just to pay friends.

Overall my experience with Paypal had been positive but then I found Venmo after being frozen from Paypal. Venmo is better.
I like the ability to send and receive money without having to go to the bank or even get in my car but it is not the best software offered.
Paypal is hard to deal with. We had some issues and they froze up our account, wouldn't respond to any correspondence, all over $9. We tried to pay many times and they kept making it so difficult. Venmo, also owned by Paypal, is SOOO EASY to work with. They respond quickly and make it easy to get business done.

Poor experience prior to venom acquisition.
Up until PayPal purchased Venmo, I would rarely if ever use this product. It was too much of a hassle to have to login to a website to send money to people, and you'd have to use their email addresses or phone numbers to send the money. Venmo made this entire process 1 million times easier and thank god they purhcased Venmo because I use venmo anytime I need to send friends money.
I disliked the whole online platform for sending money back and forth to people. Once they acquired venmo and the app based platform, it became a product that I was more than happy to use.

I like how venmo is created by PayPal without actually being PayPal. It uses the same features and most things are generally faster than using paypal.
The Only thing I didn't really like was the card options. You can only pick from 4 colors and that's it.

Now that there is the integration with PayPal, this has been huge for our website. The younger customers like to use Venmo.

Venmo has solved my problem of struggling to remember to pay with checks. I simply use the app to instantly send money.
Venmo is a great solution for anyone needing quick, painless money transfers. It can be used to pay vendors electronically, or for simple tasks like repaying a lunch debt. I recommend it for any business that could use a fast transfer application.
There are no negatives, just be sure your users link their PayPal if they already have one (Venmo is a Paypal service).

overall easy to use and send and receive money from friends or other or send in money that you owe
Similar to paypal but unsure on the fee system-as been told less than paypal but havent used it enough times to notice. easy to send and receive though, similar to paypal...
cons is putting additional information out there on the web and if you dont like having it out there-probably should not use, even though i believe it to be very secure and havent heard of any issues

Well I tried to use my PayPal Business Debit Card and I couldn't use it to receive funds but I could use it to send funds.
Well you pretty much send money to friends and family. You have the option of getting a card to pay in stores or online so that's good.
Even though they're a subdivision of PayPal you can't really send or receive using your PayPal balance or card.

I really like venmo because it is so widely accepted. Even the local ice cream truck will take it as a form of payment.
Even though I use venmo a lot, I actually do prefer paypal. There are more perks and incentives associated with paypal.
