The support is excellent. It is easy to use and has a low learning curve. Since it's prehosted users doesn't have to worry a out hosting and SSL
Too expensive compare to woocommerce and ecwid

Shopify has been the easiest and most convenient online store platform I've used to date - it has easily replaced VirtueMart, Ecwid and Square and greatly simplified things for me. It now takes a fraction of the time, for myself and my clients, to set up and complete transactions and browse my online store. It's powerful - I've kept all the functionality of my previous online stores (and gained some new ones) - and support is always efficient and friendly. I've been recommending it to most of the small business owners (like myself) that I meet or know, and am looking forward to expanding my wholesale business with ease.
Stable, easy to use, good value for money, savings on shipping with Canada Post, POS.
Unable to split payments across different payment methods.

Ecwid is a great e-commerce solution for small business owners who wish to focus on selling their products, not troubleshooting IT. It is one of the easiest e-commerce platform to set up. Highly recommended for beginners.
Easy to Use, can sell on your own site quickly.
Lacking some newer functions found in Shopify or Magento.

I love the multilingual functionality, especially when compared to Shopify
This is definitely best for a small or medium sized business, rather than a large one.. So if you are planning on growing significantly, you will have to switch over eventually.

We can offer a cheaper alternative to shopify yet compromising the quality.
Very intuitive and provide good marketing tools.
The only downfall is that I am in Canada, and them in Russia, which make the Customer Service a little bit out of time zome.

Loved being able to embed my shopping cart anywhere I want and a drag and drop cart is a nifty feature
Wish it had plugins like shopify does so integrations are easier. Countdowns and things like that would be a cool addition

Ecwid is getting better at what they offer. They had a great customer support and it will help you get what you need.
They don't have the budget or support that shopify and others have. So they are not able to offer you as much.

One of the things that constantly worried us was the integration with our header site, with Ecwid we have successfully and in record time, integrate without difficulty or additional payments what our store needed. Besides, we get a complete platform to enhance our products to other business niches, participating in social networks with the full support they put at their disposal. Another solution,...
One of the things that I like most, is the simplicity that they offer to all their clients, it is one of those platforms that allow you to venture into e-commerce, without the worry of going through long training processes, it is as simple as register and start uploading all the products you have available to the platform. It is a platform that does not abandon you in the sales process, on the contrary,...
I have been using Shopify for years, and I can say with responsibility, that Ecwid is the rival that in a short time will give a surprise to the world of E-commerce, I have no negative aspects to identify so far, on the contrary, it is simpler and more intuitive than its Shopify, a platform that causes a lot of headaches for many reasons.

I've been using ecwid for a year and a half; it suits my small business needs and I'm happy with the features. Two features I would like to see added are more partnership with shipping services (I use ShippingEasy which integrates well) but not many of the other services integrate with Ecwid so that could be a problem for some people. I also would like to see ecwid offer shipping services for different size boxes - 99% of my shipments are the same size but for the other products I had to get creative to incorporate the shipping costs.
It's easy to use, and integrates with ShippingEasy for easy shipments.
It's small compared to shopify which means not all add-ins integrate well. I also would like to see ecwid to allow multiple shipping locations in Canada and USA

My overall experience has been amazing I'm under the venture plan which is $17 a month and you can basically compare the venture plan to Shopify basic plan which is $29 a month.
What I like most about the software is it's very easy to use whether you're doing it based from your browser or from the app. Very simple and easy website design and setup.
The thing that I like least about the software is that they actually don't have their own payment processor versus Shopify. But it gives you the option to use square, stripe,2checkout&More.

A solid solution to creating e-commerce platforms. I've sold my own club's merch using Ecwid and am pleasantly surprised with the results. Would definitely reccomend as an alternative to Shopify.
Very easy to master the interface. Relatively straightforward to plug in your merchandise into a website if your choosing. The stores are very responsive. Also works seamlessly with social media. Their onboarding checklist helps new users integrate themselves into ecwid quickly. The pricing is very fair, and free for smaller sellers.
Phone support costs far too much, there is no alternative than to use it from my laptop. SEO support is integral, and it costs a bit.

The software is very customizable. Easy interface with cc processor. No complaints. Its a great alternative to Shopify which is getting pretty pricey. It would be great to see some better options for wholesale businesses like myself.

Ecwid is a proper choice for your e-commerce needs especially if your primary marketing channel is social! I use my Ecwid store to showcase products that perform better with social traffic and this works perfectly with Ecwid.
Ecwid offers the best social commerce for Instagram, Facebook, and Google shopping. With its in-built integration, you can in no time showcase your products on your social network platforms. Ecwid offers a lot of channels but the social ones are a stand-out for me.
Ecwid's SEO is not as robust as its competitors like Shopify. For your site to be discovered on Google search with just its SEO won't cut it. You will need to push more SEO towards your connected blog, and perhaps other third parties services you have connected to your store.

It's been great. I needed a selling platform that was not too expensive. That was user friendly and easy for my customers to navigate. ECWID solved it all.
Easy to use. The free trial is actually free...You can stay on the free plan and still sell. It's not like shopify where you can't sell anything while on the free plan. This actually allows you to have 10 products until you start making enough sales to upgrade. That was the best part for me.
Nothing really. The only part was knowing I couldn't get much support until I went on the paying plan both I can understand it from a business side of things. And even then when I needed support I still got a good reply and support for my question.

It did what it said it did, but what it does isn't revolutionary. It may have practical applications for some, but for what I needed it for, I outgrew it very quickly
I like that it did what it said it does - turns a web site into a web store. That's about the extent of it's features thought!
It's lack of features and flexibility was a real letdown. Having built a web site from scratch and then wanting to turn it into a web store, I thought Ecwid would be a good solution. Turns out that I'd have saved more time and ultimately money buy just going straight to Shopify or something similar.

Overall my clients who are not "big sellers" have been very satisfied with Ecwid. Sellers who require more robust features may wish to explore additional options. I have never had any problem integrating any credit card processor, and have never had a security issue. I DO NOT, however, recommend Ecwid for selling internationally, as the shipping becomes a nightmare.
While not as robust as some larger e-commerce platforms like Shopify, Ecwid is easier to use and more affordable for small sellers without an IT department. There are no per-transaction fees and the monthly fees are lower than other 3rd party e-commerce platforms. Sellers can even use it for FREE indefinitely to sell up to 10 items.
Customizing the look/design requires basic CSS knowledge - so it typically looks less "slick" than Shopify. I have encountered some great Ecwid support reps, as well as a few that are undertrained. Biggest downside is that it is terrible for International Sales. It rejects orders from overseas if the International address is entered in certain formats, which is a real problem.

Blows Shopify out of the water. They ability to embed the website into my website (by only copying a chunk of code!) is amazing. I sell only a few products with 300+color combos, and ecwid is able to do it all. Customer service is THE BEST for any service that I use. You call, and they fix or help with anything you need....really, ANYTHING!
AMAZING Tech support and customer service. Customers stay on my website for the webstore. Amazing features and functionality. I have 300+ product combos and ecwid is the only one that can handle it all!

Overall, Ecwid is a very nice store that allows a lot of customization. For some of the changes, I needed to contact support and change some CSS code to make it work but in the end, it is a very nice store. I looked into and tried Shopify in the past but very quickly realized this was not as easy as Ecwid for me.
I really enjoy the user experience as a whole. It is very simple to understand and get a store up and running. I use a built-in Ecwid plugin for a Duda website-building platform. So, it is like a 3rd party Ecwid store. Because of this, there are a few features that are missing but overall, you can still build a very nice online store. The framework and layouts are very easy to understand and use as well as you are able to customize many things on each page. The catalog page, single item page, checkout, and more.
One of my clients is a greenhouse and they have around 2,000 products. Until recently, there was no way to bulk change pricing or other features for select products which was a pain to have to change every product individually. Ecwid has made an update so this is possible which has saved about an hour of clicking and pasting which is awesome. However, there is still room for improvement. For example,...

This site is perfect for every level of business including for beginners who may only be selling a few different items at a time! The site is easy to put together and navigate through. I have tried the free plan and the venture plan. The venture plan is currently $15 a month or $12.50 annually which is way cheaper than sites like Shopify and a better deal than store envy. They also have a market place in the business plan which is $35 unlike Shopify's $30 plan.
I like that the site has a simple sleep look. I reached out to their customer service via chat and there was no wait time. It is easy to get started and very simple to build your site. The banners are really easy to create through your store editor if you don't feel like creating your own or want to save money.
I didn't like that the fonts were limited leaving little room for creativity. The sizing of the product images can become difficult to get right if you want a certain look but they do give you different sizing options. I can also become difficult to add you logo to the site depending on your template and the style of your logo.

I've been using Ecwid for about 2 years already and I can say that it's one of the best solutions for e-commerce that you can find. It has some reasonable prices if not free, if you're selling up to 10 products. For startups like me having no fees for few products was a God send. The interface and set up is one of the fastest and easiest to get accustomed to. They've also improved many features...

Overall, Ecwid deserves special mention for its fully free plan and extensive multilingual selling capabilities. When it comes to SEO, though, there is some room for improvement. Ecwid is a simple, powerful way to add ecommerce capabilities to an existing website or to set up an online store on a Facebook page or other social media platform. There are better solutions available if you're constructing a separate site — I'd recommend Shopify or BigCommerce — but Ecwid does exactly what it says on the tin: it allows you to simply add ecommerce to any website. Ecwid is an excellent choice for small businesses since it is simple to use, offers a comprehensive set of ecommerce functionality, and is competitively priced.
Multi-currency selling is simple to set up (although you will need to pay for an app to do so). You won't have to worry about manually setting up state tax or VAT rules because tax rates are applied automatically. Ecwid can be easily integrated with major content management systems using plugins and apps. Ecwid offers a completely free plan that includes a lot of useful features. It allows you to have many language versions of your store. All plans have real-time carrier quoting capabilities. It allows you to have many language versions of your store. Ecwid is an easy method to integrate ecommerce into any current website. Point-of-sale capability is available and can be implemented in a variety of ways.
The SEO features might be improved. Ecwid does not allow you to generate AMP versions of product pages. While beneficial, the Instant Site feature is not a replacement for a fully-specked standalone store. Only the most expensive options include phone support. Only iOS devices are compatible with the mobile POS integrations. You can't use any of the SEO capabilities in the free version. While the multi-currency capabilities is generally good, the local currency is not displayed at the last level of checkout. In the Ecwid App store, there are a limited amount of apps and integrations. Product variants are not available on the free or entry-level plans.

Ecwid is a fantastic alternative to Shopify that may not get enough exposure. A fantastic small and quick shopping cart that can easily integrate with your WP site or Facebook (some integrations may require you to be on a higher priced tier on either Ecwid or the target). Ecwid offers something extremely hard to find that should have it a household name, a free tier. While some shopping carts or larger...
Fantastic introductory features and pricing - Great bunch of features and integration - Integrates with Square - PCI compliant shopping cart for wordpress
Some integration for what would be free services are only available on higher paid tiers, which is perfectly fair, but is also a bit of a con and there is some confusion as to which tier you need to be on to unlock certain premium add-ons.

I wish there was more interface with Wix. If Wix is allowing users to use the ap, they should also have access to the full functionality of ECWID aps, such as the Multiple Promotions at once feature...otherwise we are happy with the ease of use.
That is easy to follow the process of an order from processing to fulfillment
If you sell on a made-to-order basis, there is no way to go and see how many of that item you ahve old over time without manually counting up from the orders. Should be some kind of feature that allows you to view how many times a partcular items has sold on the back end, where you edit the item maybe? If you don't keep an inventory, then there is no way to track and I can't show an inventory because...
