Qvera Interface Engine (QIE) overview

What is Qvera Interface Engine (QIE)?

Qvera Interface Engine (QIE) is a healthcare integration engine. It receives messages from source systems, transforms and routes them through a configurable pipeline, and delivers them to their destinations, whether that is an EHR, a lab system, an imaging archive or an outside partner.

STANDARDS AND FORMATS

HL7 v2 and v3, FHIR, DICOM including native DIMSE, X12, NCPDP, ASTM, CDA, IHE profiles (XDR/XDS, PIX/PDQ) and EDIFACT, plus XML, JSON, CSV, fixed width, delimited and binary.

CONNECTIVITY

MLLP, REST and SOAP web services, HTTP/S, FTP/S and SFTP, file system, SMB network share, direct database queries, message queues and DICOM DIMSE. OAuth and SAML are supported for authenticated endpoints.

BUILDING INTERFACES

Channels are built visually: one receiver, any number of mapping and condition nodes, and one or more destinations. Transformations are written in JavaScript rather than a proprietary language, with a Code Wizard that surfaces available functions and their documentation inline. The built-in AI Companion helps build and troubleshoot interfaces without leaving the application.

RUNNING AND MONITORING

Live status by zone and channel, queue counts, message search, an error queue with replay, and configurable alerting. Active-active high availability recovers in-flight messages if a node fails. The Remote Management Hub lets you register, monitor and control QIE instances running inside separate customer networks from a single console.

DEPLOYMENT

On-premise on Windows or Linux, in containers, or in your own AWS, Azure or Google Cloud environment. Runs on MSSQL, MySQL or MariaDB, so there is no proprietary datastore to adopt.

Qvera has built interface engines since 2008. SOC 2 Type 2 attested. Free trial available on request.
