What is AdvancedMD EHR?

AdvancedEHR is a cloud-based electronic health record (EHR & EMR) solution designed to assist users in automating workflows and improving their clinical accuracy and outcomes.

AdvancedEHR offers customizable and flexible patient encounter documentation, which allows users to configure documents based on their clinical approach or individual work style. Note layouts can be customized using the visual note designer, and third-party speech and transcription tools can be used to enter notes according to desired workflows. Patient charts can also be configured to suit user preferences, with user-definable folders for organization of charts, and role-based preferences & views for each user and provider. AdvancedEHR can electronically receive and exchange medical histories, consults, referrals, orders, results, and more, and health-related data can be electronically transmitted to various registries.

Customizable health plans can be created using HealthWatcherTM within AdvancedEHR, enabling users to build custom medical plans to manage conditions based on a range of factors, including age, sex, diagnosis, and lab results. Patient alerts are generated and sent automatically for appointment recalls, lab orders, and prescription refills. Plans can also be assigned to groups or individual patients. Population health can be monitored and analyzed using built-in or custom reports.

  • Users can design their own note layouts and configure patient charts to organize information according to their own preferences.

  • Patient health can be tracked over time using automatically-populated predefined or custom flow sheets with table or graph summaries of changing factors including weight, vital signs, treatments, and medications.

  • Custom medical plans can be created to manage specific conditions based on patient age, diagnosis, and lab results, with alerts automatically generated for appointment recalls, lab orders, and prescription refills.

  • Health-related data can be electronically transmitted to public health, immunization, and cancer registries, and transition of care can be managed through the sharing of clinical information with outside entities including hospitals, health information exchanges, and new care providers.

  • Documents can be uploaded into the system and attached to patient records, with support for a range of file types including Word documents, PDFs, JPG, GIF, TIF, and BMP files, and multiple audio and video file types.

“AMD freezes and crashes pretty often and also starts to run very slow sometimes for all of our staff and providers.”

    Long customer call wait times

This lack of reliable support complicates their experience and hinders their ability to fully utilize the software.

“The customer service that you call to deal with software related issues is ok and tends to do a decent job, but when it comes to doing things like adding on services, providers, etc and having to deal with our "account rep" this is where the communication and follow up is not acceptable at all. ”
“Our direct account manager has literally told me that she doesn't have time for us, our emails go unresponded to, calls go straight to voicemail - they make it impossible to set up an account with them once you sign the agreement.”

67% of reviewers feel negative about AdvancedMD EHR's value for money/pricing. Some users say the high costs, including additional fees, are concerning.
