Trepide is an OCR and document conversion tool that turns PDFs, including scanned PDFs, into editable Word (DOCX) and Excel (XLSX) files while keeping the original layout. It is built for people who receive documents they cannot edit and would otherwise have to retype: translators, translation agencies, accountants and small businesses.

PDF to Word with the layout preserved

Most OCR tools output plain text or a Word file made of floating text boxes that has to be rebuilt by hand. trepide reads the page and recreates its structure as a normal, editable document: tables come back as real Word tables, and headings, paragraphs, lists and columns stay where they were in the source. It works on scanned PDFs, photographed pages saved as PDF, and digital PDFs, including stamps, signatures and handwritten notes on the page.

PDF to Excel and data extraction

For tables and financial documents, trepide converts PDF to Excel and extracts structured data. You define a template of the fields you need, such as dates, reference numbers, totals, or the transaction lines of a bank statement, and trepide pulls those fields from each document. Results can be reviewed side by side with the source PDF, checked with consistency rules, and exported to Excel, JSON or Word. This makes it usable as a bank statement converter and for invoice and receipt data extraction.

Translate PDF documents

trepide can convert and translate a scanned PDF in one step, returning a translated Word document in the original layout. Existing Word documents can also be translated directly. Dates are kept exactly as printed rather than reformatted. It supports 36 languages written in Latin, Cyrillic and Greek script, including English, Romanian, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Ukrainian.

Privacy and data handling

Uploaded files are held in private storage and deleted automatically after a retention period you control in your settings. Documents are processed only to produce your output.
