What is Agenty?
Agenty provides a set of web-based tools, referred to as agents, for web data extraction. These tools are capable of detecting and extracting data from public, as well as password protected, sites in plain text or XML format. In addition, Agenty's optical character recognition (OCR) capabilities allow it to identify and extract text from PDF files and image files.
Agenty's data extraction capabilities can be used for competitor price monitoring, change detection, feed automation, lead generation and e-Discovery, among other use cases. The tools are capable of extracting both text and metadata from any type of document or text including Microsoft Outlook mail messages. Agenty is multi-lingual and can recognize and extract text in various languages. Agently can also be used to extract text data from images, and the OCR functionality facilitates the identification and extraction of numerical data from barcodes on photos taken with both mobile and regular cameras.
Agently tools are deployed via an API, and plugins and webhooks are then utilized to post data to customer servers. Scraping jobs can be scheduled in advance with an email alert delivered once the task is complete. All historical scraping data is logged and available to users for future analysis. Developers can review activity and message logs within Agently in order to gain additional insight into each job. Besides the standard ready-to-use tools, Agenty supports the application of custom business rules and logic through advanced scripting capabilities.
