Confluence is a critical tool for significant documentation from an engineering/product standpoint. I don't think it will be the only tool fast agile businesses will use for documentation but it is still best in class for engineering functions.

We've been strongly recommended by colleagues to use this software as our main Wiki. We really did test A LOT of software before, and at first we were excited about Confluence. However, after about 1 year of use we decided to drop it.

It might be suitable for big, heavy, slow by nature organizations, but not for an agile SMB that needs to operate fast to get ahead. The software is buggy, unnecessarily complex, and very restricting in nature. For our purposes using Clickup Docs, Google Sites, Notion, or any other countless simpler options proved a more sane choice.

Hoping Confluence will improve the software, because there's lots of potential. However, with the current limitations we don't see ourselves giving it another chance.

For a wiki software the FREE tier is decent. If you're planning to pay there are better options

Allowed us to improve and automate our customer & relation service processes using direct integrations via Zapier and Integromat (instead of having to build this ourselves) and efficient project management.

Great project management tool for a startup or small team

It's getting more and more difficult to justify to my team and our customer why we work with ClickUp. We had high hopes when we migrated to ClickUp last year and were «big fans», but right now we are actively considering alternatives.

Great, but more and more unstable

Clickup is pretty subpar if you deal with anything that requires security or privacy. You would be better served going with Jira/Confluence unless you really cannot figure out how youtube works.

As you mentioned, ClickUp attachments have private URLs that can be shared by users in your Workspace in order to access files.

To enable easy sharing of attachments via links, this was an intentional design decision (and common practice in software) where we developed a key using a randomized sequence of characters in the URL. This makes it impossible to guess. 

We're excited to share that we are allowing users of all plans to disable sharing links that they can share with people outside of ClickUp. To enable this setting, please navigate to Advanced Permissions and toggle on Private attachments.

It feels like a toy. Nice for small teams than are happy to fiddle with it. No so good for corporates that need a robust tool.

This tool is an excellent knowledge base. This is the primary use for it that we have, and it does it perfectly.
