Pros

It works for me on soo many levels and I'm glad to be a user for a long time. I love that they are always making amazing changes to make the software even better.
I like how it makes easy to just forward and share notes with the team, how fast and reliable is. It reminds me of passing notes in class without the teacher noticing, to be honest.
My department likes to use for all types of projects, and they act as a nice log for accomplishments as well. We also can build nice documentation thru this.

Pros

For this price level, the tools available are fantastic. One of my favourite tools is the ability to solve maths equations and provide step by step hints on how the whole thing is done.
So if I do not have my laptop on me because I am out of the office I can use my cellphone. My team also likes that we can share our notes with each other for progress updates and team notes.
In summary, it is an excellent application that fulfills what it promises.

Cons

The only downside I see is that it is difficult to get the app to recognize that you want to start writing. Sometimes I have to tap on it several times and it can get annoying.
The only complaint I have about Evernote Business is that it's expensive.
Subscription prices keep going up, and features are disappearing. Support is terribly slow.

Cons

One of the most frustrating aspects of this program was the loss of information. Annual program updates would lose data from the prior version to the updated version.
The level of familiarity with the app by my team had some people ineffective at using it in the beginning.
I'm confused why it's not possible to integrate it with Outlook.

As good as Evernote is, it's not for everyone. OneNote anybody?

Reviewed a year ago

I have been using Microsoft One Note and the way it's integrated into all my windows applications, its hard for me to fully integrate anything else. I have also adapted my workflow to work for Microsoft OneNote. It keep me just as organized. After using Evernote for a few weeks I went back to Microsoft One Note.

Pros

I love the task management capabilities because of the reminders.

Cons

It's not a bad app. I just prefer to use Microsoft OneNote. Evernote does not integrate as easily with all my windows and Microsoft applications that OneNote does.

Make note-taking easy with the ability to search through your notes

Reviewed 4 years ago

Searching handwritten text, keeping digital copies of business cards, all along with pdf attachments both on mobile and desktop versions are just a few of the key features that I greatly appreciate from Evernote.

Pros

Very user-friendly, perfect solutions to keep notes and attach files, with the ability to search through them with no hassle. Amazing tool.

Cons

The premium plans are a little expensive but this solution is really the best available, better than OneNote by Microsoft.

Evernote Business is perfect for non-Office 365 Users

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

Evernote is quick and easy to setup. There's most functionality that you would want out of a note taking application and more. Cross device syncing is huge and the biggest thing that you need out of mobile note taking. Folder structures and tagging make it simple to keep things organized.

Cons

It isn't OneNote. Microsoft OneNote is the premier note taking application for business and normal users. There's no weird device sync limit for the free version and the ability to structure your notesbooks like old school binders is massive.

Pros

As far as a note taking system goes, it works, but it isn't anything amazing. I've used much better tools (Microsoft Onenote)

It was a little complicated to use. It seemed like I would save a note and then not be able to find it again. Simple note taking tool though.

Pleasant, efficient experience using Evernote Business.

Pros

Evernote is the perfect program to take simple notes, whether it be at school, work or simply on the go. It functions smoothly and without technical issues, and note are continuously synced to the cloud.

Cons

The software is lacking in some features when compared to it's primary competitor, Microsoft OneNote. More features can be unlocked through the Premium version of the software.

Mediocre notetaking software

Reviewed 3 years ago

Overall, Evernote is decent for notetaking, but not perfect. There are many other options that are better.

Pros

Evernote allows easy categorization of notes and putting things into boxes and folders is a good way to separate different topics or tasks.

Cons

Evernote does not work as seamlessly as other similar softwares such as OneNote or even just Microsoft word. Many of the tools are difficult to use.

OneNote comparability

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

I think that Evernote is very comparable to a Microsoft OneNote. You can create notebooks, pages, tasks, etc. It is a good software to keep notes, organize things, etc.

Cons

There are not as many features as are available as a OneNote, or something along those lines, but it is still very good. You must have a verified account, and it is constantly asking you to upgrade to the premium version.

Evernote keeps the internet organized

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

I like Evernote because it helps me organize my internet searches and thoughts. It is very easy to clip a part of a webpage or create a list to save for later. Also, everything is available across your devices.

Cons

While Evernote is helpful for saving almost anything you wish, it is not the most robust tool available. I find it does not have as many features as Microsoft OneNote.

Gave it a Try

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

The thing that I liked the most about Evernote was Its sync engine. The platform makes a great place to collect all your data.

Cons

I was a previous OneNote user, and as such, I was used to the integration with the other Microsoft products. That is ultimately why I switched back to OneNote. Evernote did not have a lot of the features that I had come to love while using OneNote. I was not able to use my stylus to take notes in Evernote even though it was one of the selling points when I bought the app.

This worked well for me. I used it for many years but they have been topped by onenote. I know a microsoft product? but it seems more responsive to the market than their other products.

Pros

versatile inputs methods fairly quick search. Intuitive customer interface. There are windows, and android apps so you can work seamlessly between platforms.

Cons

it is not as fast with searches as onenote is. If you are looking for this kind of app you should compare these two side by side to see which one best fits your needs.

It's good, but with caveats

Reviewed 5 years ago

Evernote is quality software that's well made. However, there are other options that are just as good and offer it at low or no cost. Unless there's something specific about Evernote that you just can't live without, you're better off choosing another option.

Pros

Evernote is easy to use and administer. It makes keeping track of notes very simple, and bringing a newbie up to speed is a breeze. It's generally performant on all hardware, and the device sync capabilities are exceptionally useful for having access to important info on the go.

Cons

Honestly, the pricing. It just doesn't make sense, particularly in a larger organization that already uses Microsoft Office 365 for business. OneNote is every bit as good, but it costs nothing to use. Even if you're just an average joe customer, not affiliated with a company, you can use OneNote for free on all your devices.

It's fantastic ... for a single device.

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

Just great - digital notebook at its best, really. The web-clipping function is what got me there in the first place. Syncs flawlessly, easy to use ... much more reliable and consistent that Microsoft OneNote; not an MS bashing, just true - Evernote syncs right quickly and every time. Definitely the standard for digital notebooks, I think.

Cons

One device, or you gotta pay. This was such a deal breaker, as I need this on my phone/iPad/Mac - and instead of a one-time purchase, you're looking at a subscription. Probably only a matter of time before Microsoft OneNote and the associated MS products push me over the edge and I go for the subscription, but OneNote was already in the MS suite and I've become proficient with it.

Great note-taking app, unfortunately the value-for-money still needs some tweaking

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

Overall, this is a great tool with many functionalities and options to take/review notes everytime and everywhere. The mobile and desktop versions allow for tagging of notes (which I love) as well as very versatile searching options. There are many apps out there with seamless integration to Evernote.

Cons

The value-for-money equation is not there for me. There are many other options that allow for a free and limited use or, when it comes to paid options, OneNote from Microsoft makes more sense as it's part of a bigger bundled options.

save and organize everything

Reviewed 7 years ago
Pros

ease of use, cross-platform support, web clipping tool, intuitive layout. it's the free and better evernote

Cons

can't save notes to local drive (instead of just the cloud) on mac, it could do better with more mobile widget options, and there's no custom tags on mac.

One Note Connects Seamlessly

Reviewed 6 years ago

One Note came through for me one time and I have never forgotten it deep down in my subconcious.

Pros

One Note is owned and operated by microsoft so you can’t fail with it. It truly is a great addition to all other office products and services.

Cons

Evernote is stiff competition and other note programs are really fighting hard to differentiate themselves. Its a congested arena.

It connects to other Microsoft platforms and that's the best part.

Reviewed 6 years ago

If you use other Microsoft products and value integration, use this. If not, stick with something better like EverNote.

Pros

I like that I can easily use tasks, insert emails, and keep my Microsoft functions connected. I like being able to have multiple notebooks with multiple sections and pages.

Cons

The interface is not pretty and also frustrating. The newest version is buggy and often doesn't load for me - it's prettier than the one I am using but not worth the hassle.

Canvas style note taking at its finest

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

Unlike other note-taking apps, OneNote truly assists with creative aspects of your work. The canvas-style free-form notes are ideal for taking text notes, inserting images, drawing notes on those images and then reshuffling all those elements if needed.

Cons

Syncing issues. While OneNote will eventually sync your notes, but the process is not as fast and smooth as in Evernote.

Note taking made easy in Onenote

Reviewed 4 months ago

Great overall experience managing my notes and sharing them with my colleagues. I would highly recommend this over other resources like Evernote.

Pros

The ease of sharing my notes with someone, commenting on notes by both primary author and collaborators, auto sync on the one drive.

Cons

For some reason, one note seems to perform better on Mac systems but not as much on windows. It crashes a lot on windows.

Great for staying organized with little maintenance required

Reviewed 5 years ago

It does what I need it to, but I feel like there's another solution out there like Evernote I might like better.

Pros

It's very easy to learn. You build a folder for each main topic and a tab for each sub-topic. It's also very easy to insert imagery and PDFs, while drawing on top of them to illustrate points.

Cons

Frequently it crashes, pushes pages to a "misplaced area", and says that it ran into an issue where a back-up needs to be restored. Also, it can be tricky to handle embedding horizontal slideshows.

Worklife organization = peace of mind

Reviewed 2 years ago

Migrated from Evernote a few years ago and never looked back. Keeps my work life organized and in sync across all my devices!

Pros

It's free and offers all the tools to keep your work life organized. I use it daily to organize my tasks (great and easy to use ToDo list features!), to keep and organize notes from meetings and to write memos or analysis of tasks I perform. The Notebook>Tabs>Notes organization is simple and effective.

Cons

The notebook>tabs>notes interface could be rethinked. As it is, it is functional, no doubt, but I can help feeling that some other views of this greater organization of your notes could be improved. It would also be great if double clicking to tray icon opened the app instead of the quick note shortcut (it can be changed in the options thou). Small grievances.

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

free on PC, solid for basic note taking, formatting, and jotting down some quick ideas. Easy to get started with

Cons

Their mac app is bad, and i don't know if there's an iOS version. Evernote and other competitors are much more fully functional and are also free.

Microsoft OneNote: Acting like a leader

Reviewed 6 years ago

When one size fits all in Automated Notetaking/organization Software App, EverNote isn't free, but Microsoft OneNote is - free in two versions and works across all operating systems, flawlessly. Did I say, FREE? And free is the least of the features included in Microsoft's state-of-the-art notetaking and organization OneNote. Free as a stand-alone, or packaged in Microsoft Office 365 which includes everything from Word through skype and more.

Pros

For any business, school, or personal use, quick uploading and organization of unlimited multipage notes have never been more user-friendly and reliable than Microsoft OneNote app and software. No matter what platform the note was taken or written. And, since one version is an online app while another can be downloaded onto the desktop, all notes remain in one place and follows the user wherever there's an internet connection. Last, but not least it's Free, the perfect companion for MS Word files, Excel, etc. I'm always in need of the notes and research references I product and save from online sources, whether, in PDF or some other formate, constant availability is my lifeline for school, personal and business endeavors.

Cons

Synchronization between OneNote desktop and the online version would blow EverNote off the map. But since it doesn't, a few extra clicks to save in both versions solves the problem.

One Note Too Many

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

I guess the main pro is that it's a Microsoft product. You know it will always be around and supported. It has easy to use writing features like Word.

Cons

Overly complex. Difficult to learn. I really, really wanted to make it work for me. I tried multiple times to organize my notes in it. In the end I always returned to Evernote.
