Pros

Great array of tools to use in making the building process methodical, tools like the documents folder for all project drawings and specification are great. The integration with Xero was a big plus.
It has many great features that streamline communication with trades and help them to get paid on time. It’s a great way to organize multiple projects at a time.
As mentioned above, job costing is such a great thing that can be accomplished. Sending bills out of BT is also a great aspect of the software.

Pros

Hands down they win a badge for best software. Houzz already has a great reputation in the industry.
The messaging features and leads features are very helpful, and I like the concierge. I haven't used the estimate feature because we have our own system for that, but I like that it exists.
The ease of use of the product is certainly there and integration with the business model was easy. The client success manager that we are assigned is amazing.

Cons

Unable to autosave to-do's or the daily log is obnoxious. If you accidentally close out the program you lose all data.
This isnt to blame on buildertrend its just we struggle to get our sub contractors to cooperate using our online services.
Our trades hate it because it is hard to use on their phones.

Cons

Being directly connected to a potential client by a computer on the phone, when they have no idea who you are or why your are calling at what is usually an inconvenient time for them.
I have had a few spam encounters recently and the # of leads I receive has dropped.
But the automatic responses are irritating as they continue to ask you to respond when that's already be done. The program doesn't follow through as you move through the process.

Absolutely amazing! It has helped our company run so much more smooth with ease of communication, documentation and scheduling!!

Pros

I don’t know where to begin... -The Scheduling aspect in builder trend is so critical and is easy to use for both the contractor and subs to stay on task -Selections are made and categorized per project so all users can see -Never lose money on change orders again with the client signing off on each selection - ease of communication for team members on a job-specific basis. This is just touching the tip of the iceberg with all the amazing functions builder trend offers.

Cons

If any would be that the financial side is a little less easy to figure out but there is always a customer service pro ready to help!

Gathers all discussion in one locationKeeps all paperwork for each job in one location.Excellent reporting tools are provided by exporting data while utilising filters.The option to save many filters is fantastic, and filtering is done nicely.

Cons

Montly cloud service is much more expensive than Microsoft projects, and the application is only available online. No separate customer support for priority clients. Many features available in the pro version are absolute and un-necessary.

Pros

Best feature is the ability to interface with 3rd party software - example Buildertrend with QuickBooks. Function works amazingly well and any glitches encountered are easily resolved. Another Pro would be the ability for homeowners to monitor the progress of their home building - unfortunately this feature is only as good as the construction progress inputs

Cons

Homeowners often misunderstand the information shared with them - there needs to be additional checks and balances so homeowners are not misled or confused. Example - AR balances - customers are often confused between billed AR and paid AR.

Pros

Ease of creating bids and ability to download docs and pics to provide detail to subs on how to bid. My trainer is the best. Very helpful and keeps me from making time consuming mistakes.

Cons

Needs a mass action function to be able to pay multiple PO's in full. Now you have to click on each PO and three more clicks to pay each PO individually. Build Pro has this function and it drastically reduces workload. Right now I'm happy but if continue to grow, will consider this a strong deterrent to continue to use BuilderTREND.

Bad FInancial Reporting. Don't use this software.

I really don't like it and each year as they grow their customer service gets worse and worse.

Pros

it has great visual organization and options.

Cons

the payables and receivables don't link. it is very difficult to make sure you have billed everything you have done and even harder to report this to your client. Also, they claim to have product integration with QuickBooks but it does not work. They couldn't figure it out nor could a QuickBooks pro consultant we hired. We paid quit a bit of money and never could get QuickBooks to communicate.
