Pros

I love that it's so user friendly and the customer service is great. I love that they are always contacting us about new ideas to integrate into the program and they have implemented them.
Our office LOVES Canopy!!! We love how user friendly it is and they have great customer service.
Help with Tax Resolution!!!! I love being able to send client request. Completing forms within the system is very helpful.

Pros

I think their help screen & YouTube videos are very helpful in setting the program up. They do have awesome customer support people who can help with individual set up issues.
It has been great, I did a lot of research to find the best software that fit for me and my business and this is a great option to keep everything organized and bill clients in one place.
I actually love the auto-reminders for clients to complete documents or organizers. The organizers are fantastic for onboarding new clients.

Cons

After a lot of $, we have been so frustrated we haven't even gotten off the ground. The support is terrible and there is very amateurish implementation planning.
Honestly, customer support is the lowest on my list with this software. It's difficult to get answers and then when I get someone, they tell me no one has every reported that before.
Customer Service is Terribly - This Company is too new to meet deadlines.

Cons

The first problem I had with TaxDome was the support. This program is difficult if you intend to just jump in at the beginning.
The main item missing was the notification system for when an organizer is updated / changed no notification is given.
I disliked the lack of notifications about information.

Overall, TaxDome may be the best choice for small tax accounting firm.

Pros

TaxDome got most features of Canopy, but price is cheaper. TaxDome makes my team works efficiently.

Cons

I can't find the customer service number.

Pros

I really like the integration of all features in one package. You have a basic CRM, you can add custom fields, you can add pipelines that link to task, accounts, and accounts to contacts. I have the ability to create or delete any of these. High level of customization. You can save documents and interact with clients through this software.

Cons

The software feels slow and it doesnt look as sleek as Canopy or Karbon but price and potential compensates for that. Plus TaxDome keeps getting better.

The All-In-One Solution

I am excited to use TaxDome on a daily basis to organize my workflow, client deadlines. The interface is super user-friendly vs the beta-looking ones I have used in the past.

Pros

It does everything you can imagine, plus more. With this software, I have my client accounts, workflow, pipelines, emails, checklists ALL in one! And unlike Canopy you can create templates and customize each engagement!

Cons

If I ever want to bring on an additional team member, the $75/user/month isn't ideal and more $ compared to the original license. That said, I get it and I know it would be worth it!

TaxDome picked up where Canopy left off

Pros

I was an avid Canopy Tax user for many years, but was disappointed by the constant changes to their product. Most recently they disabled several beneficial features unless I paid an additional annual fee and I didn't like that they product was based on client quantity. TaxDome offered everything I felt I had recently lost with Canopy Tax and packaged/priced it in a much more user-friendly manner. I don't have to be concerned with awkward or unpredictable future billing and I won't continually lose features.

Cons

I'm starting to get further into my setup and I've noticed some improvements could be made to the letter templates to allow more customization.

Feature rich

So far, very impressed. Loved the layout and look and feel of Canopy, but they are far behind TaxDome in features, plus they are more expensive. TaxDome has much more power. I feel the company is super dedicated to making this program easier to use, more powerful and productive tool for the user and firm. It shows in the constant weekly enhancements, fixes and updates.

Pros

Loved the thought that the company put into this software. They are definitely focused on the user and adding day-to-day practical features. I feel that they are in overdrive adding enhancements and new features several times a week now. Love the Kanban look and feel along with the features of the Pipeline with Automove. This is super powerful.

Cons

The GUI is a bit flat and dated. It could benefit from a fresher look, crisper fonts and some depth to screen. Also, the CRM is OK, but could be better laid out with more usable fields. I.E. it just has generic text fields for date of birth and does not calculate the age of the contact. This is super important as advisors need to know the age of clients as major financial events happen at age 18, 21, 59.5, 65, 72. I feel that they will circle back to this and improve it over time. BTW - TaxDome name needs to go because imho, it is too limiting, this program is so much more than just a tax industry/CPA program! It is great for any type of consulting, financial planning, wealth management and almost any other service related company.

I looked at several CRM packages. Cost was a factor but value was more important. I think so far the value this package brings is far superior to anything else I looked at.

Pros

the people here are very friendly and very helpful...I told [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] when I started that I am probably the most computer illiterate person ever to meet and to talk to me like a 2 year old to explain things [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] was very patient and walked me thru the set up so I almost felt like a pro...many thanks for that I have tried Canopy, one of their competitors, and the experience was horrendous

Cons

I'm still getting used to how the software works so I can't say I have any real negatives at this point. So far, so good. Everything they promised and their response time for help is minimal.

So far, so good. Did my online research and now that I've personally used, believe it is a solid product that I'm looking forward to using more.

Pros

I've liked the secure portal. I've added my logo, and with the optional client app, it just has a more professional feel than I had using Google Drive. The optional templates, such as the organizers that allow doc uploads directly from the questionnaire are a nice touch. Had to reach out to support once, and had a response via chat feature within 5 minutes. The price point was also very attractive, significantly cheaper than Canopy (also looked into). Also like that the price is all-inclusive, so don't feel like I'm getting nickel and dimed for extra clients, storage, etc.

Cons

I'd say the two biggest improvements I'd request are the ability to bill on a recurring basis (subscription model) and the ability to upload more video types (I use screen/audio recording tech to walk-thru client data, currently via Loom) to portal.
