Impressive functionality and features, but be prepared to invest a lot of time.

2017-06-07

Advanced email automation functionality at a fraction of the cost of Infusionsoft.

Pros

ActiveCampaign offers most of the power and functionality of much higher-priced software like Infusionsoft. In my experience, it's the best value-for-money email management software for businesses that may be new to email automation.

Cons

Features and builders are unintuitive, and the pop ups designer for websites is awful. You need to have a PhD in CSS in order to make it not look flat-out bad.

Great Featureset for the money if it fits what you need

2017-08-15

If you need email automation and don't want to spend money per month for infusionsoft, this is a great alternative.

Pros

Great drip campaign and email automation functionality Compares to Infusionsoft for much less money Email builder is workable overall

Cons

Supposedly has CRM functionality but it comes nowhere close to meeting the needs of most companies Complicated and difficult to use at least in the beginning. I don't know how they could fix this though and still maintain the features available

Advanced Email Marketing

2018-09-30

You can create whole email funnels much easier than you could in infusionsoft.

Pros

I like the automation features of ActiveCampaign. For example if someone opens an email I can then send them a different email. If they buy my product they get taken to another list. If they don't buy, you can send them emails about the product.

Cons

It costs more than Mailchimp and it's harder to use.

ActiveCampaign Was My Confusionsoft Replacement

2018-12-04

ActiveCampaign has been great, including customer service.

Pros

It has robust features to rival Infusionsoft yet so much easier to use.

Cons

The email template builder could use some updating and a wider selection of templates.

Love the extra features that they provide when trying to do just more than send emails.

2018-02-01

Time! Setup it up once (and pretty quickly too) and forget about it. Nothing better than that!!

Pros

The flow of what you want to do is completely visual. Add in the tagging feature and you have a complete automated system that nurtures your clients from entry to sale. It goes beyond what most platforms out there do and doesn't cost you an arm and a leg to get started!

Cons

It's not a for fledged CRM like InfusionSoft but it's not a crazy amount of money either so I can't complain to much.

Fantastic Design, A Real Time Saver

I was using InfusionSoft and found it to be VERY expensive and quite difficult to manage.

Pros

Ease of use Features and controls Price

A great alternative to InfusionSoft - Active Campaign automates you mailing.

2017-12-14

Pros

Active Campaign is cheaper and easier to learn than Infusionsoft and it has all of the features that I need for email automation.

Cons

The CRM is not as good as I would like. So, I continue to use Hubspot CRM and only use the email features in Active Campaign.

Not perfect but a decent value for what it does

2018-11-09

I've only been on AC for a few months now but so far, I've been reasonably satisfied with what it can do. I think there's still lots of room for improvement and feature upgrades but overall, I've found my email deliverability to be even better than when I was on IS.

Pros

I migrated to AC after using Infusionsoft for over 10 years.

Cons

I haven't experienced it myself (yet), but I see a lot of complaints about slow support response which is worrying. I do find the email editor to be clunky and rather dated compared to Infusionsoft's email builder. The UI could have better and quicker access to certain sections where it takes a few clicks to get to sections (e.g. takes too many clicks to go and manage tags). I see a lot of feature requests that are pretty much there for a long time with no real timeline for implementation which is a little worrying.

It's good, but not quite there

2016-12-08

After using OntraPort and InfusionSoft the logic is just different.

Pros

The entry point pricing is good for the amount of features you get. It's pretty easy to get in-depth customer and prospect information, including social data. But you have to pay for it.

Cons

The campaign builder is slow in response. The more complex an automation campaign gets the slower the responsiveness. Deliverability isn't the best. Lack of SMTP supports to fulfill emails via SendGrid or Amazon SES which could improve the deliverability a lot.

A decent ESP with lots of configuration options but geared towards sales teams.

2018-03-04

Pros

Overall, some good automation triggers and reporting features. Easy to set up broadcast emails, automations, and more. Decent pricing for the features of what normally cost more with an enterprise-level CRM and marketing platform. Good flexibility to configure the platform.

Cons

Additionally, ActiveCampaign is making their tool more and more like an Infusionsoft or HubSpot CRM platform instead of focusing on email marketing.

The Best Kept Secret in Marketing Automation

2017-06-06

Pros

ActiveCampaign is one of the best kept secrets in the marketing world. The automation builder is both easy-to-use AND powerful. You can trigger actions and segment by almost any criteria you can imagine. In a lot of ways, the automation builder rivals the (what I consider) best-in-class solutions such as Marketo. The email builder is intuitive and the template library comes with a lot of good looking emails to start from. Zero HTML/CSS needed. The built-in SMS messaging is really cool and somewhat unique in the industry. Building an automation consisting of emails and SMS messages is drag and drop, with no integrations needed. While it's limited (as of today) the CRM is really intuitive and clean. If they continue to add functionality in this area they may have something incredible in a couple years. Importing contacts is simple and goes far beyond the typical CSV file. Google contacts, Google Sheets, other email providers. no problem. Possibly the best import tools I've seen in this industry.

Cons

I'm really hoping they invest in this area (much more important than having built-in landing pages in my view), as it would really elevate the solution and make it an easy choice vs the Infusionsofts of the world.

A Truly Powerful System

2015-12-11

I initially looked into Infusionsoft, but after their horrible hard-selling techniques, flat out lies, and ultimately a BBB complaint and subsequent refund, I was hoping to find something else and was very leery at that point.

Great Little CRM for Beginners-Moderate

2018-05-16

Pros

Its very user friendly if you have used any of the others like activecampaign or hubspot you can use this.

Cons

It doesn't do much to set itself apart from the other platforms that compete in this space. There needs to be more 3rd party integrations.

This is why I'm not working with them in the future.

2019-02-08

I'd advise staying away from this company and sticking to Activecampaign and whichever landing page builder you have.

Pros

Systematic process is great, how the follow works is great also. Easy to use. API's with most everything.

Cons

External client solutions. Impossible to cancel. Keap will not cancel you without you speaking directly to your affiliate account manager. People don't follow through with what they say.

Great platform for users.

2017-12-10

Pros

It goes way past simple platforms like aweber, mailchimp, constant contact and even activecampaign. You can take a contact all the way from option forms to fully tagged and segmented marketing campaigns and finish the job with an order form waiting for their credit card all in one piece of software for a reasonable cost.

Cons

I don't like how I have to change my password every90 days. however, I totally understand that. I wish it worked better on Safari as well (the email campaign feature). I cannot create the emails in Safari, but I can do so on Google Chrome.
