I use this tool daily. I support school administrators and teachers with their student information system. Creating a screencast to actually demonstrate what I'm trying to teach or troubleshoot with grades, etc. is priceless!
It has a Chrome extension that when installed only takes two clicks to begin your recording. It also saves to your Google Drive.
The free version of this software does not allow you to edit your videos. I wish they included that. But the mere cost of $49/year/users isn't too pricy to get the editing feature.

We started with the free version (limits to 5 minutes of recording and, I believe, has a water mark). After realizing that showing staff how to do something is more beneficial than creating "how to" documents, we purchased a couple licenses to try it out. From there, more and more staff wanted to use it and we currently sit at 15 licenses that we can "check out" as needed to any of our staff. No regrets in our purchase and our staff love it.
Very simple to set up and easy to use (even our non-technical staff use it often). Installation is simply adding a Chrome Extension and then assigning a license to an email account. Having the flexible licensing (allowing us to transfer a license from one user to another as needed) is great since recording videos, typically, isn't a daily need. The options are easy to understand allowing the user to share a desktop, browser tab and even show the presenter in-screen on the recording. The addition of drawing tools really enhance the entire package. Cost is low and well worth it.
Honestly, there is very little to not like about Screencastify. Any issues that we've had have always come down to user error (such as the webcam not being installed or plugged in). I did not rank customer service since we've never had to use them. That, to me, says volumes about how easy the product is to use.

I have been using Screencastify for years. Ever since I was a classroom teacher and now that I train teachers in my district and around the state it is one of my top 5 go to programs to show and use with all teachers K-12.
The ease of use coupled with it's integration into the GSuite platform makes this an invaluable tool for all school employees but especially teachers and even students to create and demonstrate learning at a fundamental level.
The free version is great but the lack of being able to do basic edits made it hard to implement across the district. However, at the current price point purchasing the district license is a no brainer.

Screencastify is a great, free screen recording program for people looking to get started with making videos.
Screencastify is simple and intuitive to use. If you are looking to make short screen sharing or presentation videos, it is a great tool. The video quality is high and the integrated browser add-on makes it easy to record quickly.
The price of pro features, at an organizational level, is a little pricey. Also, only allowing 5 minute video recordings in the free version seems a little short. All you are promoting is users making multiple 5 minute videos as opposed to one long one - still the same end game. Let the user have unlimited recording length and just brand the video for free users.

Screencastify has dramatically cut down the time it takes for me to create user tutorials for supporting my users in various capacities. It's a great tool and a good value for the money.
I administer our nonprofit's database system. As an admin, a big portion of my job is ongoing user training. I used to build user manuals with tons of screenshots, which takes approximately forever. Now, I use Screencastify to do actual screenshare videos of the processes that I need to compile into user manuals. I also use it on a one-off basis to share processes with users if they're having trouble with something specific. The users love it, and it makes my job loads easier.
It does take a while to download the videos, but it's not that big of a deal.

I use Screencastify primarily to record how-to lessons for my students. There's a free version which works well, but it was well worth it to pay a little to get access to a direct mp4 download that I can edit without having to go through a file converter.
It sometimes takes a little while to get long videos ready for download and sometimes the program freezes during the conversion process. The video still exists, but you have to reload the page to access the download or restart the conversion process.

Great value, great tool. Makes communicating to remote team much easier on both ends.
Recording screencasts has made our internal communications and collaboration much more effective. Game changer for a remote team.
Hard to say anything bad. Maybe the processing times when uploaded to Google Drive (not sure if that is actually Google issue?) could be faster.

Using the free version is good enough for my needs.
The free version works for our needs Very easy to use (intuitive) Convenient for short video presentations/recording
The solution is great but it would be better to have pricing for non-for-profit organizations. The Let's talk school pricing is a little intimidated to approach. As mentioned, I use this tool probably 5 times per year.

Recording short presentations (and longer ones) to present as promos, webinars, etc.
Great for running software demos, recording videos of presentations, and creating videos direct from browser or other app screens, with or without face camera embedded. Upload to Drive and YouTube, with some limited editing features
Editing features are a little limited, in my opinion, but for the price, it's not a big issue. it gets the job done

It has been a great experience. I’ve created dozens of demos and tutorials and I’ll continue to use this app. Also the price is very low and a great value for me.
I like the ease of use and versatility. The tools are very to use when recording and the go right to my google drive ready to go.
The editing options are somewhat limited

Quick way to share video tutorials.
This is affordable and simple to install solution for screen capture and video sharing. I like to use the software for capturing video tutorials and explanations to accompany my email clarifications. It is conveniently accessible and ultimately does the trick. It is nice to have the options to save or upload and share a link.
This is not always compatible on mobile. Some time the uploads for videos freeze and must be recorded again. Also, the selection of the screen that you wish to record is sometimes confusing and I have managed to record nothing but my voice. Overall, it does the trick but I wouldn't be able to confidently recommend.

Problems solved just by sending a little 'follow me'
I love using this to screencapture little guides, it's easier to follow than a written paper. For me the 10 minutes are enough for now, I even tend to split it up in multiple parts. The biggest plus for me is the ease of use.. nothing beats that
The pricing for our organisation is a little on the high side. We can't afford to get the paid version as of yet.

For the purpose of showing students hoe to do things on the computer, the watermark is not a big issue. As a result, this is an asset to those in the field.
Having a screencasting application that works directly off of the Chrome browser is so nice. You don't have to worry about filling up space with saves.
It does cost monthly to get the watermark off of the screen. It's not terribly expensive, but if you don't want the watermark it does cost.

It does not work well to record something that is in any sort of window that is not a web browser. You cannot zoom in. You cannot edit you cannot highlight you cannot do anything to make your video better if it is in an application. It is a low level piece of crap. That’s why they don’t offer a free trial.
If you want to record something that you were doing in a web browser it works fine.

We used screencastify to create some video SOPs for new employees so they could learn how to perform some basic tasks without taking too much time from more senior workers. The platform is easy to understand, doesn't break, and produces videos exactly like what you're looking for.
It is easy to use via chrome extension and the free version has almost everything you need for short videos.
If you're going over a certain time limit (10 minutes last I checked) then you need the pro version of the software. Also there's a watermark, for those who are anti-watermark or want people to not think you're cheap.

Deam simple to use screencast software that makes great recordings. Pricing is fantastic for what you get, even the free version worth using.
Honestly, I have NOTHING bad to say. Add the ability to save to Google Team Drives, and it will be PERFECT!

1) With the help of the software I was able to screen record and create webinars for all
1) Best feature we see is that of it being available as a chrome plugin 2) Integrations with YouTube and Drive makes it a better up
1) Like all the other apps the only other problem is the pricing scheme and it can easily be made better by helping the INR economy
