What is Firsthand?

Firsthand is a cloud-based alumni networking platform designed to help universities engage with students, employers, and prospects using mentoring programs and virtual events. Administrators can create online campus communities to enlist students as ambassadors or alumni as mentors and host group discussions, open houses, and one-on-one meetings on a centralized dashboard.

Higher educational institutions can utilize Firsthand to create, organize, and manage mentoring programs for different departments and provide additional access for instructors to modify sessions according to requirements. It includes a reporting and analytics module, which lets departments quantify, score, and visualize the performance of student interactions and relationships. Universities can also use virtual career fairs to let employers create custom virtual booths, conduct live events, display job openings, engage with students via group chats, and gain insights into attendees' preferences.

Firsthand facilitates integration with applications, which are already in use by organizations such as LinkedIn, Salesforce, Oracle Netsuite, Simplicity, Microsoft Outlook, and more. It also lets educational institutions run targeted email campaigns, build onboarding pathways for students, and provide access to webinars, resources, and knowledge base content on a unified platform.
