- Efficient management of various courses - Creating learning modules, quizzes, courseware - Customizing on top to add more functionality to features

Pros

- Alot to do, right from managing courses to creating quizzes and what not.

Cons

- A bit old school - More options with design could help - The user role management should be more elaborate

We use it to check the SCORM compatibility

Good tool for testing elearning courses.

Pros

It also has every possible feature that can be found in learning management systems.

Cons

The interface is highly customizable, but it can (at least to my opinion) work out of the box.

It is a manager of virtual classrooms, of academic resources, it is very interesting and recognized.

2018-04-20

Pros

In addition to offering the management system for courses specific to an educational institution, it also offers Moodle.net where you can create and search for free courses for your users.

Cons

Disadvantages of Moodle itself may be that it expanded in such a way that the teacher has more freedom to select certain contents for particular students, since nowadays the classes and resources are presented to all students equally.

Being able to access my courses from mobile, easy to use intuitive course technology.

Pros

Being able to upload files to it and take my courses and quizzes directly within the app.

Cons

Few tech issues here and there that gave anxiety about reaching a deadline or two, but overall got the job done.

Offline teaching and learning

Pros

free (open source), flexible Course Management System, great community support, robust and easy to use

Cons

Not in my language, yet, so many users of the application would strongly resend it. Also a down-side, you have to learn how to use each (of many) tool most appropriately to get the best results

Beautifully put together, easy to use.

The amount of organization, planning, and time management that Moodle offers makes my life so much easier than ever before.

Pros

Moodle allows you to create your own courses, evaluations, forums, and classes with ease.

Cons

Although Moodle is typically easy to access and use, if you are attempting to create minor course details or smaller classes, the minute customization tools can be difficult to access.

I was a student for 4 years at an institution that ran the lowest tier

2016-05-24

Pros

It got the very basic job of a learning management system done.

Cons

It's not very intuitive or user friendly. Typically the platform that delivers great content should go relatively unnoticed. In other words, it shouldn't cause distraction by being too flashy or too clunky that it's hard to navigate. Moodle was the latter.

Online examinations are very convenient. I was suspicious that it would prove cumbersome to manage online exams but it has proved, with one or two hiccups, pretty straightforward.

Easy to use and you can't beat the price

2017-12-05

I found it easy to learn on my own, build a course, and interact with students through Moodle.

Pros

I used this software to teach a fully online course for a couple of years.

Cons

The most challenging part for me was to follow the various threads in the discussion forums, although I believe the students did not have the same problem (they were likely more tech savvy than me).

A platform to support teaching. Is very complete. I had an excellent experience.

2018-03-23

Pros

It allows to publish resources to so many courses the teacher has open.

Cons

Each educational institution that uses it must have a good server for the platform so that it meets technical storage requirements. The management of so many user accounts falls on each institution and that is why it must be careful to have good personnel for these required services.

Moodle open source LMS

2018-03-13

Virtual LMS that is free and easy to use.

Pros

There are also features for backing up you class page which personally I find useful so when I build a new course I can import things I have previously done.

Cons

Also, Moodle is a little dated and lacks some of the slick advancements in user interface some of its paid competitors have.

A cost-effective

2018-01-17

Because it is free, my Institution (public University in Brazil) could afford to implement it to improve the quality of undergrad courses.

Pros

Although it is mainly developed for education, it can be tailored to be used as other kind of content management system, such as general websites and a plataform for team-based activities online.

Cons

Finally, upgrades (notably major ones) must be carefully planned and executed to avoid data loss.

Moodle Makes Learning Management Systems (LMS) Implementation A SMART Investment

2010-10-29

It's easy to get lost in it, very complicated

2018-05-10

Try to maintain a university course at a distance, but it brings more problems than it solved, I do not recommend it

Pros

Moodle platform is a simple and practical way, so that Teachers and Students who are in remote areas could share their experiences and stay relatively in communication.

Cons

To access it, it is recommended to carry out a course for its management and compression, In addition to having support staff that can attend, which, in my opinion, It is a lot of "logistics" to keep teachers informed with their students, Many other platforms simulate the experience better and without so much protocol.

Online learning platform

2018-03-02

Pros

The best thing about this platform is mainly that it is translated in multiple languages and the Attendance plugin is excellent for courses where you should keep a record of the attendance so be an online course.

Cons

the limitations are given depending on the server, bandwidth where it is installed since it has happened that the platform becomes slow when a large number of users connect at the same time

Great product if you can figure it out

2018-05-05

I don't use Moodle anymore, as the current university where I teach uses a different system. There were aspects of Moodle that I preferred, but overall for ease of use, I prefer my current university's system.

Pros

There is so much ability to do things with Moodle that you cannot do with other similar classroom management programs.

Cons

They offered free online courses for teaching users about Moodle.

One of the best applications for instructors.

2018-04-23

Have at hand an educational application that allows me to prepare courses and complete classes for work groups or students, where I can evaluate them and keep track of each class or team, knowing what are the strengths and weaknesses to improve the group every day.

Pros

Every professional of the instruction that has knowledge of the technologies of learning to used moodle, is par excellence one of the favorites to the hour of teaching, be it at university or professional level, this application is very flexible and complete, it allows you to create courses, evaluations, create forums, classes, upload videos and more, much more, when you need to prepare new staff or improve the resources you already have, you can always count on moodle for this task, plus it's free, but, you will need a development team to customize to suit your company.

Cons

Maybe the wide application can hinder the development for a specific task, or if you want a simple course, it can take a long time to customize for a small session where example you just need a course or evaluate something, maybe in these cases is better another option.

As a Teaching Assistant, I used this software to manage class progress and submit grades

2018-05-28

Interface with students and messaging was easy.

Pros

Reports were generated and the statistics features were nice for both teaching staff and students

Cons

For one class, the grades that were counted were therefore stored on a different software (we informed students that moodle had raw scores only)
