Pros

The greatest benefit that came from this software, for me, is the ability to conduct business, specifically, complete a payment transaction, no matter where you are located.
Square is an awesome piece of software to use. The retail side has great capabilities for sales, inventory, gift cards, rewards, and much much more.
Square is very simple to learn and use as an end user, and it has gain a lot of popularity recently, customers feel more and more comfortable with this system.

Pros

I love the way you can customize your subscription to meet whatever needs you have in your space. The site and app are easy to navigate and I love all of the reports that are available to me.
This has been the first program that I used to start my business with, and it is super user friendly for any beginner business owner and current to keep track on your progress.
Clients love how easy it is to book appointments online. Love how you can customize confirmation notifications for clients.

Cons

If I am to complain about something I would complain about the percentage I am giving back to square but that it the cost of doing business.
The only thing that has ever been slightly frustrating is the traditional card reader being sensitive when swiping cards. Sometimes I'll have to try 3-4 times to get it to register.
I dislike that it fails sometimes and it is not accessible at many different vendors and restaurants.

Cons

I had some trouble refreshing the page and getting linked to another site. There was a lot of advertisement for other companies, so I also got distracted at times.
Needs Apple Pay support desperately, especially in this era of COVID-19, this is a glaring omission.
Switched to Vagaro from Booker and I hate it but I’m trapped.

Auto drafting, session tracking, point of sale of services and products ease of use and modification of sale and scheduling formats.

Cons

Honestly the only thing is waiting for deposits. 24 turn around would be great vs waiting for specific business days. This hasn't been an issue at all just a preference

It's a point of sale and calendar all in one, it confirms your clients and tracks your income.

Pros

I loved the platform's appearance, it's sleek looking, appealing, and has a great feel to the software. The price point is good, the services plans are nice too.

Cons

I did not like the inflexibility. It doesn't sync with any existing calendars, so you have to be a start up business to really get the value of this, otherwise you're leaving behind your existing database unless you want to pay a high fee to get them to transfer it over, and even doing that you have to download it yourself to csv files. Tender methods are not modifiable either. If someone uses paypal to pay you it won't track it.

Hello Brianne, We do import all calendar data, but as you indicated it is a paid option. The main issue around doing a direct data sync automatically is that competitor software or third-party scheduling tools often have significantly different data formatting in place and don't easily book directly into Vagaro. This software is great for scheduling and point of sale. I've been using it for almost 4 years now with much success!

Pros

I love that I can do everything within one software program and that I can access it anywhere!

Cons

I wish the checkout process was more user friendly. It would be great to be able to save a customer's checkout to switch names or add their name without losing the cart and needing to start over. I would also love to be able to automatically add discounts to customer profiles or have pop ups at checkout.

I've used Vagaro for over 5 years. It has all the functionality I need: credit card processing, scheduling, automatic appointment confirmations, point of sale, inventory tracking and sales reports. I love it!

Pros

I love being able to run reports, capture client info/ spending habits, the ability to capture credit card information when booking, and the ease of running a promotion and tracking gift certificates. I love the auto reminders for appt confirmations and the ability to pad appt times so clients don't get double booked. By the way, I am the 2017 referral winner for Vagaro, so I talk up this company all the time!!! Couldn't run my biz without it.

Cons

The marketing templates look a bit elementary, so I have to upload my own images since I'm not a huge fan of the premade ones. I usually just use mailchimp for marketing because of the templates. Also, every Massage & spa forum online says how Vagaro REALLY needs to get a SOAP note for massage therapists, as well as online intake/ consent forms for clients to digitally fill out. I really wish Vagaro was compatible with SQUARE, bc I refuse to use Vagaro's Point of Sale system for services bc the fees are slightly higher than square.

Exactly what I was looking for

Before Vagaro, we had one system for point of sale, one system for booking and a third for customer information management. We wanted a system that would do all of that and move our business to the next level. Vagaro was the answer to that, bar none. To have everything in one software package eliminates errors we were making when entering in things in multiple places previously. The reporting is top notch and the ability to access everything remotely from our phones and see appointments and transactions in real-time is a great benefit.

Pros

We were looking for one single system that could do everything for our business. Point of sale, booking, inventory, online booking, excellent reporting, custom forms, email/text marketing, etc. Vagaro has it all. It's one complete package that we can access remotely and via our phones at any time.

Cons

While this software was made mostly for Salons with numerous Stylists (Service Providers), it took a big of tweaking and being creative when setting it up for us. With us being a Sauna Studio, clients don't book people, they book actual rooms. There was a little bit of a learning curve on how to set that up properly but it works brilliantly now. I wish there was a little more customization on some deep settings, but all in all, I can't complain at all.

Multi-faceted Retail and Salon Setup

Pros

I was a Square user with multiple apps to run my business. I utilized the Square Invoices/Square appointments/Square Checkout paying $31.00/mo.;HOWEVER, the price instantly jumped when adding contractors so I decided to go with this platform and have one app to run my business from.

Cons

I do not think that there should be additional charges for adding contractors/employees to the calendar.

Helps me operate my business seamlessly

I switched over to Vagaro from MindBody Software and I am super glad I did. I have just about everything I need in one place that allows me to run my business seamlessly.

Pros

I like that this software is a one stop shop for me. I can schedule appointments, offer online booking and gift certificates and use it as my point of sale system. I am able to email and text my customers reminders, note and even send out emails with promotions and newsletters.

Cons

It would be really great to be able to customize the reminder and confirmation reminder emails. As well as be able to have a text number attached to my account that a client can text back. Many clients text back the confirmation email and they are confused when we don't get their message.

Affordable and Easy to Use

Overall great experience. Easy to use, affordable... I would definitely recommend.

Pros

I like that this software is easy for me and my clients to use. It works great as a scheduler and point of sale system. The price is great and it has all the features I want and need. It allows me to customize in a way that works for me.

Cons

I feel that Vagaro is slighty geared more to the beauty industry. I wish it was slightly more comprehensive in terms of marketing what I do as a Pilates studio. When creating class and session types, the options were limited and I ended up having to create my own. That part was easy but it is my understanding that a custom made category cannot be searched by potential clients on Vagaro.

Not worth the price

I am much happier with Square

Pros

The app is somewhat easy to navigate, once you familiarize yourself with it. Though it seems dated for 2017.

Cons

Customer service is not very helpful for getting started or for navigating the system. They are short and unapologetic on the phone. If you don't stay with the service for a year, you are charged for the simple iPhone card reader that most other companies provide for free. The system is often down and credit cards are not accepted. It's an embarrassment when you have to later call a client to run their card.

does everything I need it to do.

keep track of appointments on the go and inthe salon...the love the mobile app. the auto emails to clients..makes my job as a aministrater easier

the easy of making and changing appointment. email features...competative to the square. pretty much every thing

I cannot put in the same email for a different client. i would like to use the credut card feature but they do not take apple or samsung pay

Amazing !!!

I had an amazing experience. I've been using it now for close to 4 months and it's super easy to use.

Pros

I can see my schedule on my phone,laptop, iPad or desktop. Its very user friendly.

Cons

I wish it would be compatible with my square. I tried the one they offered, its not terrible, but I love my square for payments.

I've used this program for some time now and I've been able to keep track of my everyday clients. I've been very satisfied with the options and it only gets better for me.

Its user friendly and keeps everything organized without any hassle.

The swipe percentage it a bit more than what square offers.

fast quick and easy and makes my business run more smoothly and keeps track of daily sales and all activities its like my second pair of eyes and at the end of the year all I do it hit the print button to file taxes
