In the end we left them. I reached out to their Customer Success manager to get a good deal on the Enterprise plan. They didn't pick up my signal that I was also looking at other systems. They didn't seem interested to keep us as a customer, so we left.

Recurly is packed with features. It's not the cheapest one in the market but it fulfills our need. There are some features we wish would be an add-on which will save us some dollars because we don't use it. The customer support is important to us and they are responsive and knowledgeable. There is a little learning curve when rolling this out to new hires.

Recurly's dunning system is incredible and retrieves a lot of our revenue which could have been lost if not for the dunning system.

Invoicing is made easy and general setup of pricing, coupons, etc are very easy to follow.

Our sales reps and admins can use the software easily with very little training. 

When I offer consulting services to small businesses, I often recommend that they start billing services with Recurly - and I'm not even a Recurly affiliate! My clients do well with Recurly, which helps me do well.

                                                       Recurly was honestly the first truly subscription oriented platform that we've used at our company. Previously we were using... I mean, I don't even remember the name of it now, but a very basic system for collecting payments. Recurly was the first one that was specifically designed for recurring, hence the name, subscription payments.
                                                       We chose Recurly cause it was presented to us as the industry standard for SaaS companies or other companies that are collecting revenue on a subscription basis. It is, and it seemed to us at the time, easy to implement, very natural, intuitive to use, and the data analytics that you can use were big selling points for us.
                                                       Getting started with Recurly was really easy; easy to implement, easy for people in the company to get a log in and begin using it for whatever role. Some complexities when it comes to extracting data. They've got some great analytics built in, but if we're looking to pipe data out into other business analytics tools, that was a little more difficult than we expected.
                                                       One thing that I would recommend if you're looking at Recurly or a different tool out there is with Recurly, like I said, it's really intuitive, easy to implement; we found there were some limitations when it came to applying discounts and managing what types of subscriptions you could create. Some systems will allow you to have different discounts or different approaches to elements within a subscription. Recurly, basically, if I'm going to apply a discount to a subscription, I'm applying it to the whole subscription. I can't target a specific product or elements of that plan. So, I think you just have to look at your business process to figure out, is that something we're going to need? Or if we're applying a discount, some sort of a reduction; it's across the board for the entire subscription.
