I love the Wishbox software. It is so "user friendly" that it cannot be equaled by any other platform or experience.
YOU WILL BE AS SORRY AS WE ARE TO HAVE CHOSEN IT. It has become an embarrassment to us vis-a-vis our guests and an operations nightmare.
It is simple to use, user friendly, evolves according to user needs and I think it is on its way to becoming a great alternative to a PMS.
And the support is dismal. They are in Australia so nothing is real time and they get back to you when they get back to, sometimes days later, no matter how urgent the issue.
Reliable software with good user and guest interface.
It is virtually non-existant. I submitted an issue to their "urgent" email address 4 weeks ago, have chased it 4 times since and it is simply being ignored.
Very helpful in communicating with guests. Optimally fulfills our needs in managing customer experience and offering upsell for stay.
The guidebook is a great way to provide guest information. Pre-checkin is also useful in terms of collecting the guest's real email address, signing Ts and Cs and collecting ID.

Upsells is a great way to generate revenue from baggage storage, late check-out etc (you can add many different types of upsells). Guests can upload their documents using wishbox.
The only reason we chose Wishbox was because it integrates with Cloud Beds and allows secure uploads of guest IDs.
But it turns out it actually doesn't integrate very well and requires us to hand sync multiple times throughout the day.

What is really good about protel is that it gives you reports on almost everything. So for revenue and any kind of analysis it’s pretty amazing.
Account Manager : absolutely useless and complained numerous times about no call backs. Their answer "no record of this.
I still think Protel is an amazing system the team is always there to help and this is the most important thing, its not the cheapest in the market I must agree, but overall I'm very happy with it.
Everything that you can report is in GROSS - not NET. Useless guest confirmation letters and invoices - we cannot pull any guest facing material out of the system and we have to manually build it.
The possibilities are amazing. We had great support from their partner "Flow.
Also the reservation module needs to show more information. In some new PC's sometimes the software crashes ( weird but unacceptable issue,).
It is a good system for international hotels. The system also has great language translations.
Absolutely shocking, if I made my customers wait so long for solutions for a non functioning system and errors I'd be bankrupt. The company need investigating top to bottom.
Love how quick and easy I can access and drill down through screens and information.
Most troubling is the fact that while growing they made the backend too complicated with staff from the past version contradicting itself to newer features.
I like the front end display, easy to use and with the initial setup we were able to design our own confirmation letters.
Protel Germany is unreachable for several months after more than 250 calls to Protel there was no one who was able to give answer to some simple questions.
What I also like is the support team which is always there for you.
Ease of use is not that good but it can be learned without much effort. Connectivity with third party software.

Cloud based with , for the most part, a reasonably good set of canned reports. The front of the house functionality is good.
The problem is the fact that you have to open multiple pages and do your own calculation for single counts and case counts. If you made an error on a price it is very difficult to make a correction.
