Pros and cons

The staff are very supportive and helpful and seem to actually care about their work and getting answers. The system is maintained and constantly improving.
I like that it has a very robust base to what you can do and how you can do it. I think aspire has done it's best to create a system that can be be used by many companies.
Love having everything on the cloud to access all information from anywhere I have wifi. Love the ease in scheduling projects and love seeing the progress on the job.
Inability to put system controls in place to minimize mistakes, particularly related to mishandling tickets and selecting services within an estimate tied to the wrong division.
Sometime the material or the drop box opens on the bottom of the screen where you can't see it. Also when posting material to inventory its puts it for some reason in the wrong inventory account.
We went from one software to this software and it was extremely difficult to transition.

Our Forever System

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

We were drawn to Aspire for its robust features and integrations with other systems we were already using, such as Quickbooks, Go iLawn, and others. With Aspire we've been able to streamline some of our processes and eliminate the need to copy information from one system to another. When looking at other systems, we couldn't find anything else that had all the features and capabilities of Aspire - CRM with email integration, estimating, scheduling, invoicing, job costing, timekeeping, payroll, and more. With all these features already built-in, we knew Aspire was going to be our forever software. It had the features we needed now to help us grow, and the built-in processes that will be crucial to maintaining efficiency with higher sales and more crews.

Cons

A major disadvantage to Aspire is their app - it kinda sucks. The features within the app are very limited. However, we understand that Aspire is working on developing a new and improved app that will hopefully be rolling out within the next year. Also, the implementation process is tough, especially for a small company that doesn't have a person, or team of people, who can devote themselves to learning...

Vendor response

Brenna, thank you for such a detailed review. Really, it helps everyone when you leave such helpful comments. We are humbled and full of gratitude that you and the team would refer to Aspire as your "Forever System". Makes us very proud. And, we are forever looking for ways to improve and grow our solution as well! Love to see that you are taking advantage of the full breadth of features and...

Aspire Landscape Software

Reviewed 4 months ago

I love Aspire, overall, it's a great platform and they are continuing to develop the features. I am excited to see what's new updates are coming out each month. It's expensive and if we have made sure we are using our investment to its fullest. We still have a long way to go to be using all the features in aspire and it takes a person dedicated to overseeing it to ensure everything is flowing and utilized.

Pros

Aspire is nice because it brings all of the aspects of work to one platform. Prior to aspire we had multiple different software platforms specific to divisions.

Cons

It takes the right person to set up and implement. When we implemented, we had team members who were not on the same page and not having a clear concise plan going into implementation it caused us to have to go back and correct things that were not working as we expected.

Pros

Hi Tim, Thank you for providing a review. So sorry to hear of your challenges with Aspire. We would be interested in hearing more details and our Client Success team is here to help you and your team along the way. While not having all the insights into your particular implementation or issues, we have a large base of customers using Quickbooks with success. Perhaps an opportunity listening to your challenges would help us better understand how we can serve you. I'm confident we can turn things around for you! Aspire Review from Redwood Landscape

Reviewed 3 months ago

We are happy we made the change. The pros have defiantly out wayed the cons. It is just a beast of a program and a lot to learn. We still need a lot of training.

Pros

Job Costing Running Multiple Branches Easier Estimating-easier to train sales Communication between field and operations

Cons

CRM! It is horrible to write general notes! It took us a long time to receive a CSM.....I expected the customer service to above and beyond and it felt like we were rushed to graduate and then we had to bag for a CSM.

Vendor response

Joy - Thank your for taking the time review Aspire and provide some details on your experience. Love your positive experience during your first year on the platform as we know it can be a bit of a learning curve for some organizations. We are continually reviewing the exact process from implementation to CSM and how we can support customers during the first year. Thank you!

Ignite User Conference

Reviewed 3 months ago

Overall, we were very pleased with the conference, great job by everyone who put in the monumental effort to pull it off! We'll be attending the next one.

Pros

Interaction with other Aspire Users and the variety of breakout sessions and workshops. We're a new user and still learning a lot about the product, but very pleased with what we learned about where the product is going and different ways we our company ca benefit from it.

Cons

I would point out three negative comments about the conference, to try and improve it for next time: Power point has it's purpose, but there was not enough hands-on/live demo of the product in the breakout sessions. We would suggest that at the next conference, there are areas set up, similar to the sponsor booths, where we can interact in person at our leisure with Aspire personnel. It's not practical...

Vendor response

Dave - Thank you for taking the time provide such details about your experience. We love hearing about your time at Ignite, as well as with the Aspire platform. This was our 5th Ignite conference and it continues to get bigger. We did offer a range of activities and areas where customers could interact with our team members, from the Product Hub area and AspireCare desk area. We are in the early stages of planning our '24 Ignite conference, so we will work to incorporate more opportunities! Thank you for the info on Boss and LMN!

Software Solutions for the Modern Age

Reviewed 3 months ago

It's involved a complete culture shift at our company, and it has not been an easy transition. Getting everyone 100% on board is still a challenge after 2 years. Aspire has many checks and balances, but there are certainly workarounds. With the help of some outside consultants and a wonderful CSM, we are finally on the right track. The rapid growth of Aspire offers many benefits such as an ever-expanding list of company partnerships for GPS integration, payroll integration and more.

Pros

All encompassing software that limits the amount of work you have to do in other programs. The rapid expansion means there are constant improvements made, and the community is very helpful. I enjoy the amount of control I have over different aspects of our business, from creating custom layouts for proposals and invoices, to managing required fields. It's not perfect, but it is certainly getting there. After changing software numerous times over the years, it is comforting to know we are sticking with Aspire for the long term.

Cons

Little things that are thankfully being improved upon. The mobile application feels antiquated and makes the lives of the crews difficult at times. I also really dislike how T&M pricing hierarchy is calculated. Why would it pull from the catalog pricing even though you change the amount on the purchase receipt? That's like if it just took the estimated hours and charged for them instead of the actual hours on site. It is counterintuitive and illogical for a time and material invoice type.

Best software for money in this space

Reviewed 3 months ago

Excellent. The staff are very supportive and helpful and seem to actually care about their work and getting answers. The system is maintained and constantly improving. This is clearly a smart company that cares about what they're doing.

Pros

It's intuitive and understands my specific needs. It also covers the whole lifecycle of the company, from sale through operations to billing.

Cons

I like Aspire a lot, but I would like a bit more of a QA component to work with so we could use it entirely across the company.

Better, Faster, Stronger

Reviewed 3 years ago

Our experience has been a very positive one. Customer support during implementation was very good. Ongoing support for users is excellent with very fast response times and knowledgeable representatives. Aspire is constantly making improvements to the system based on user recommendations and so far, each new version release has improved our user experience.

Pros

Intuitive user interface. Logical data query format makes finding granular data very easy. Reports are easily customized and shared with other users. Customer support during implementation was very good. Ongoing support for users is excellent with very fast response times and knowledgeable representatives.

Cons

Initial concern was pricing. Aspire appears expensive when compared to similar systems but it actually saves our organization money through better management of the sales and production process, resulting in better gross margin and revenue per employee.

Vendor response

Theodore, thank you for your feedback! We're pleased to hear you would recommend Aspire to others and that our software has saved you money and improved your profit margin. We are always honored to be a part of our client's success. Stay tuned for future updates, we will continue to improve Aspire to meet the needs of our users!

Great at what we need it for

Reviewed 8 months ago

Aspire is innovative and best in class for the critical functions. I am confident they will continue to provide updates to the product.

Pros

Job costing, estimating/pricing, systemizing sales and production. Great data. It is scalable and a true enterprise solution.

Cons

All of the accounting functions are cumbersome, yet powerful. There is a sharp learning curve. Only part of the software is available on mobile. Site audits and client communication are somewhat limited.

Great software for the landscape maintenance business

Reviewed 3 months ago

Everything has been really great. Any concerns get cleared up quickly and if it is something that we need the system to do that it currently cannot it gets put on a list and all users get to vote on how soon it gets added. Great community as well of like minded individuals and lots to learn from each other.

Pros

Allows you to track, job cost, plan and almost everything else you need to run a landscape maintenance company.

Cons

I don't know everything that it can do and feel like there is easier ways to do things than we are currently doing them.

Best Landscaping Software

Reviewed 5 months ago

Personally in the accounting arena, I have loved the ease of invoicing. Tracking time and running payroll is much easier than the old system we had been using.

Pros

We were always struggling to do job costing using Excel and QuickBooks and now the information is all contained in the opportunity. The invoicing saved so much time and has significantly improved our cash flow.

Cons

The integration and switch over were intense but the Aspire team was there to help with any questions and their training was great. I think there are little gripes with all software but the benefits far out way any issues we have encountered. If you don't hire people with strong computer skills, they may struggle a little.

It's been great. Honestly, the partnership with our CSMs (or CSMs interim) back to implementation and the support we get from everyone at Aspire is amazing. We value relationships here at PGI, but didn't realize we were buying more than just a software.

Pros

Being able to have easy access to see how much money we are making or losing on jobs. This is important to be able to know if we are bidding correctly or not. The goal is to grow, not sink.

Cons

Honestly, as more and more releases and updates are done, the system just keeps getting better and better.

Milosi - Finance Manager

Reviewed 2 years ago

Implementation was about 6 months before I came on board. It is my understanding that this experience was short and did not provide enough training for the staff. We have had challenges due to misunderstandings through the implementation, but seem to finally be making progress on our Aspire processes. We are looking forward to getting into the YOJ classes!

Pros

Industry specific alignment and integration with phone apps for field use.

Cons

Inability to get real time entries in to QB. Would like to see a daily update via the connector, very similar to what a restaurant POS system can provide. I understand there will be challenges with Earned Revenue, but also believe there to be a viable solution.

Vendor response

Sheila, thank you for the detailed review and honesty! We know that the first year can be a little challenge, from implementation to adoption. Easy for the day to day user.

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

Aspire requires "power" users to understand and fully implement the system for the team. If has a lot of possibility and getting it to all work for you or modifying your processes to fir with Aspire take real time and effort. But for the average user who is putting this to work on a day to day basis the software is fairly easy to use.

Cons

Aspire's greatest weakness is the client facing side. The lack of easily changeable email templates is really a disappointing part of the software and certainly an area that they need to work on.

Vendor response

Hello Nathan - thank you for taking the time to leave a detailed review and insights on your experience. Aspire is definitely a "full" offering and there will be a transitional period, but as you say, there's real value in using the whole solution. I'll share your feedback on email templates with the product team, as we're always looking for areas to optimize. Thank you so much!

Should be better for the price!

Reviewed a year ago

As the person responsible for the financial reporting of the company, Aspire sucks. It is TOO expensive for the kind of reporting we are getting.

Pros

Estimating, scheduling and invoicing are much improved over our old system. On the landscaping management side, Aspire has provided much needed help.

Cons

The drawbacks are numerous. There is little onsite training, as a matter of fact, we have had to pay an outside source to give us the training needed to use Aspire efficiently. Accounting integration is poor. The inventory system is non-existent from an accounting perspective and requires a lot of manual journal entries to reconcile. Aspire requires a lot of additional time to get financial reporting accurately into Quickbooks. The pivot tables within Aspire are not real time but include info up to the prior day. . DO NOT believe that you will be able to get this running in less than a year. It is very disappointing!

Vendor response

Janet, thank you for the review and open feedback. So sorry to hear your experience is less than our standard of excellence. We pride ourselves on having the leading end-to-end platform for the industry. We provide a range of training options and continuing services as we build partnerships with each customer. Aspire Review 2023

Reviewed 3 months ago

Decent. Like the software but I wish the training was better. Before I recommend it I usually ask them if they have a staff that is great on computers. If they don't I probably would not recommend it.

Pros

The product seems very advanced. With the right training it is very useful.

Cons

It's not very user friendly, especially for software that does not have an extensive training program. The training would be my biggest issue with the software. The knowledge base helps but if you need anything in a hurry be prepared to wait for an answer. If you happen to get someone to help more often than not they have to ask someone above them for answers. I chalk it up to growing pains.

Vendor response

Neal - Thank you for taking the time to review Aspire. We know the first year can be a challenge for some teams, especially if they are coming from a more basic system. We offer a robust implementation process with training, as well as an open Year One Journey with weekly and monthly training sessions available all the time. In addition, there are opportunities to work with our Education team and Pro Services team. We are here for your long-term success, so please be sure to reach out and let us know how we can serve you. Thanks!

Pros

Scheduling has been a huge help for production and keeping track of budget hours. The ability to track these in real time is a major asset with growing labor costs.

Cons

Some functions could be a little more user friendly but generally its easy to use. Sometime clicking from work tickets to schedule back to work tickets or to the next property seems a but cumbersome
