Pros

I've had a very positive experience. The help desk was able to respond to some of my questions pretty quickly, I like the functionality and my emails look good.
Mailchimp is very great software. I like how it's easy to interface, and how you can clean the data.
I like how Mailchimp keeps track of my audience and helps me categorize them for different types of emails. I also like being able to create appealing and interactive emails for my viewers.

Pros

The interface is clean and easy to use. On first impressions it looked like the re-brand from InfusionSoft was a move good to keep things more simple.
I love this product, it is the best when you get advanced marketing experience and a big mail list, you can really do magic with it with the advanced action based segmentation.
I had some great help with getting everything set up and I find the email automation system quite easy to use and understand, which is great as it has gotten me to do a lot more with automation.

Cons

I have had instances where the emails sometimes end up in the spam folder or promotions folder, which can be annoying and needs to be figured out.
Mailchimp is used by many which means that spam filters are more likely to tag your emails as spam. I did not have any other problems with Mailchimp.
For a company that's been around as long as Mailchimp has, it's crazy to me how bad the UX/UI is. It's just hard to use so much of the time.

Cons

When you leave it idle, rather than timing out gracefully, you lose any unsaved info. I know that's more of a "my workflow, why the hell aren't you saving your work" issue, but it's still annoying.
Sick and tired of paying money for something no one can make function and do what I need.
Infusionsoft refuses to make simple fixes. Terrible for business to business.

Overall it's a great tool. Beginners are going to love it. At some point you may find yourself migrating to a more robust tool like HubSpot opr Keap.

Pros

Mailchimp makes it super easy to get in and get started. Even if you've never been exposed to marketing software, the interface is very friendly for beginners. Also, you can get started with a very small list and Mailchimp gives you the tools, like forms and landing pages, to help grow your marketing list. Also, if you just want to use it to create a great looking HTML template and then download the code to use in another app you can do that very smoothly.

Cons

For more advanced needs, list and data sorting could be better. I've found that in order to get the analytics I want I typically have to download it and then shift through it in Excel.

Overall, it's a really great autoresponder that stays up to date and current and the pricing is incredibly competitive.

Pros

It is very user friendly. I set up Mailchimp for many of our clients and it is the most user friendly that we have found while also constantly updating to stay current with the market. The inclusion of Journeys was a very solid move for Mailchimp and made them more in line with Keap and others.

Cons

Customer service is lacking and only available if you pay for it.

Overall, Mailchimp is a great "my first email campaign management" tool. You'll be capturing emails and sending out marketing campaigns in no time. Simple to use, but lacking some features from more complex tools. That's not a bad thing, but you may decide to move onto something like Keap or Active Campaign if you're looking to fine tune your automations.

Pros

The nice part about this service is that it's super easy to get up and running. Easy to set up, easy to embed into your website and/or create a link to a Mailchimp landing page for the form you want to you. It's my first suggestion for folks looking to start capturing email addresses to use in email campaigns.

Cons

Unfortunately, Mailchimp doesn't have the level of automation which you can see in other tools. It's easier to use, but lacks the complex tools you can find elsewhere.

Pros

I have many clients who use MC and I understand the free plan is very enticing for a small business starting out.

Cons

I've tried MC over many years and still I find the navigation, interface and usability to be really difficult to do things quickly. Everything feels slow, finding things like how to setup an automation is really a pain to find. The navigation is not intuitive at all and it hasn't really changed over the years to be any friendlier. I've used platforms like Infusionsoft (Keap) and ActiveCampaign and others and while no platform is perfect, the usability of other platforms is much easier to navigate and just complete tasks.

I found that everything I needed could be provided to me through MailChimp for free instead of paying Infusionsoft. MailChimp was much easier to use and I could easily train my staff to use it as well.

Pros

It seems like it can do almost anything required from getting leads to keeping clients.

Cons

It was incredibly difficult to use and didn't make sense for those who aren't automation pros.

Cons

Email broadcast could have more features. Not as robust as Mailchimp or Constant Contact, but they're working on it.

More streamlined email marketing because it is now in one product with our CRM.

Pros

The customer service - you can chat online or call at almost any time and the team is so responsive and helpful. They've helped me learn new features and tricks and solve all issues I've come across in a timely manner.

Cons

The email design isn't as customizable as Mailchimp and there isn't the best reporting options. Some emails also go to spam.

I like that this software includes mailchimp integration which is what we like to use for our email marketing at the yoga studio.

Cons

The price point is higher than I would like it to be. That is the main thing that i like least about this software. Being a small yoga studio, with many clients, budget is a consideration.

Allowed me to mail out end of year updates, but not as easy to use as Mailchimp for this. Not much good.

Pros

Reasonably light and easy to use, but not as comprehensive as some other desktop installed programs like LeGrand

Cons

Seems to be focused around doing mass mailshots which i regard as a bit old fashioned. And it has very high security around privacy etc, making it difficult to mail customers an important update without ticking boxes like 'i have everyone's permission' when you don't - it seems geared up to spammy eshot type people, and therefore has a load of legal bits designed for people like them, doesn't work well for an SME who only occasionally sends out important updates and more uses it as a record keeping information hub.

It's a decent CRM that's helped accomplish communication goals for my organization. I've spent a lot of time on the phone with customer support and although they don't always have the answer I want, they do take the time to talk to me.

Pros

If you're comparing CRMs to cars, InfusionSoft isn't the fanciest one out there, but the price is right, and it gets you from point a to point b. And it has really helped streamline our contact management and accomplish some of our communication goals.

Cons

You can't create an HTML of your email messages. This is my biggest frustration, and a feature that I had in my free MailChimp account.

The ability to segment your customers is a basic must for any CRM tool and Infusionsoft takes it to another level. The ability to integrate bids, proposals and invoices have been very helpful in my business so far.

Cons

Customer support is not that great and this is an area that needs improvement. The ability to integrate with other apps such as MailChimp is also quite weak.

Overall it is a really good system. Offers plenty of customizable actions and journeys you can create for your users/leads etc. The only downside is the cost.

Pros

I really liked the fact that this tool really does offer a seamless action-triggered integration that is flexible. Some tools you are limited by what type of action is being taken by the end user but KEAP allows you to choose from a large variety of actions and even create/select your own type of action which is great!

Cons

From what I understood, this tool was expensive compared to ActiveCampaign which is what we had originally used before we switched. For the price, might as well have gotten mailchimp.

The all in one Marketing Tool

Pros

Is by far the best marketing tool that I ever used, combines CRM, Email Marketing, Online Store, Payments in a single dashboard. In my case, I had merged Mailchimp, Unbounce, and Shopify with great results.

Cons

Infusionsoft is definitely not for newbies, require a lot of time to implement if you don't know what are you doing. Once you have the "know how" is pretty easier. The other thing is the support, they have a great support, but if you want some advanced training or have some specific question you have 2 options, pay for the training or hire a specialist, because read the manual is not an option.

Infusionsoft is so good I'm telling all my friends and clients

expansion of my business through follow up

Pros

I can see how this is next level follow up service. I've only just started learning the program but it is way ahead of Mailchimp and the ability to charge clients, label clients and do ad campaigns is excellent. I'm a small business working like the big boys with this program.

Cons

There's nothing not to like. I'm learning and will hand over to an infusionsoft expert to run my lists at some point but it is idiotproof.

Best of breed for this type of eCommerce + Marketing + CRM tool

Pros

I like their campaign builder. The GUI is outstanding at setting up "if this, then that" sequences, such as: "if the customer buys, then send this survey" or "if the survey isn't good, then assign a task to support to follow up; otherwise, send a thank you gift."

Cons

It's a tough problem to solve, but I'd like to get an idea of overall email opens and clicks from within the campaign builder. For those shopping, you can send broadcast emails like MailChimp, and you get all the data, but what makes InfusionSoft more powerful is its campaign builder.

Great platform for users.

Pros

Infusionsoft's automation possibilities are amazing. It goes way past simple platforms like aweber, mailchimp, constant contact and even activecampaign. You can take a contact all the way from option forms to fully tagged and segmented marketing campaigns and finish the job with an order form waiting for their credit card all in one piece of software for a reasonable cost.

Cons

I don't like how I have to change my password every90 days. however, I totally understand that. I wish it worked better on Safari as well (the email campaign feature). I cannot create the emails in Safari, but I can do so on Google Chrome.

A fabulous CRM for professionals, consultants, and small business owners

I've had a few tech issues with the software over the years. Often I can get the help I need via online chat but when there is a bigger problem I'll call in and a support tech will walk me through it. Very pleased with Keap Support.

Pros

I've been using the software since 2008 and absolutely love it. We've leveraged the software to grow several businesses including 10Xing one of them in just 39 months.

Cons

The software is EXTREMELY powerful but the trade-off is that there is some complexity and a bit of a learning curve. There are simple programs like ContantContact and Mailchimp and they're ok but if you really want a powerful way to grow your business those lightweight options are not going to get you there - you need something more robust.

Pros

Integrated sales & marketing: you have a complete record of what your customer bought, so you know exactly what to promote to him/her. Infusionsoft integrates with Zendesk, our Help desk app, which makes for great customer service. The monthly subscription is about what Mailchimp would cost, so you get real value for your money: CRM and email campaigns. Fantastic customer support. They speak English too!

Cons

It's too easy for a customer to click the "Spam" button instead of unsubscribing. Also, I wish I could spread a campaign over several days.

Feature rich & complex

I have used Infusionsoft mainly for clients who manage email campaigns, e-commerce, and affiliate programs. I, personally, did not find that it was my favorite program to use for these purposes but it was certainly the most all encompassing software that literally does it all. I also appreciate their customer support and available tutorials to help out when you need some help.

Pros

I love ALL the many, many features ad functionalities that Infusionsoft has to offer. From creating and managing email campaigns, to affiliate partnerships, sales, etc. There's really nothing that this software doesn't or can't do. I especially like how landing pages and emails can be designed in HTML/CSS or in a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor, similar to Mailchimp or Aweber.

Cons

Infusionsoft is SO complex, that there is an enormous learning curve. They literally have classes and seminars on this stuff because there's so much to learn. But once learned, it's highly beneficial and not that hard to understand.

Easy to hit the ground running

Pros

Not having used other CRMs, I'm not the best person to compare functionality, but I've been really impressed with the level of support offered by Infusionsoft, whether through the basic training, Infusionsoft university, the Kickstarter program, or the number available on the site. This makes it really easy to get a little ambitious and see results right away. Also, creating beautiful email templates is so much easier than with other campaign tools like MailChimp.

Cons

I don't find the site navigation and menu options all that intuitive, and I would prefer to see more popup info balloons (or something like that) to explain what some of the form fields mean as you are configuring some of the settings, especially as it's not likely to be something you are doing often and it's annoying to have to bounce back and forth as you re-learning what needs to go where.

Not as Intuitive as a Marketer Needs it To Be

Overall, the platform may be good for larger teams who are deeply familiar with the functionality and using it on a regular basis. However, if you're a small business looking to grow, find another platform that's more intuitive, friendly and saves the settings that you'll use repeatedly. Fast-moving marketers will find it challenging to complete standard tasks efficiently within the platform.

Pros

Infusionsoft is known to be one of the best platforms for mid-size businesses, with tons of functionality, built-in eCommerce options and lots of bonuses and extras.

Cons

Unfortunately, Infusionsoft has an old-school interface that can be challenging to navigate. I'm currently utilizing the platform for two separate consulting clients, and I'm constantly having to go back to (very limited and out-of-date) training videos to recall how to perform simple actions, such as setting up a campaign. Options that are saved and automatic and only a few clicks in a platform such as MailChimp are involved and require multiple steps within Infusionsoft.

Way better and easier than expected!

I hesitated with infusionsoft for years because of the term cycling "confusionsoft", so we started with HubSpot and MailChimp and other tools until we decided it was time for the upgrade. The kickstart program had me running in less than a month and fully functional and then infusionsoft university made me fully proficient. This company is dedicated to their users and their platform and it is an amazing tool that works when you work it. Absolutely love it.

Pros

The "if this, then that" capability and the fact that it's a visualization process, if you can think it up, you can build it.

Cons

The reporting I find could be better, but there are many integrations.

Pros

What I love about Infusionsoft is the integration and the level of sophistication you can build with this product. It has all the things you need in just one app, so you don't need to be running around and try to find other products. My favorite thing is the tag system. Normally in Mailchimp or other auto-responders, you create lists depending who you want to target. Infusionsoft is very dynamic and you don't need lists, instead of that, you have tags that you assign to people depending on their actions or opt-in options. In that way, you can know how people are behaving on your marketing strategy. Also, you get a dedicated one-one training to teach you how to use the product.

Cons

The learning curve to use the product. It isn't complicated to use, as many people mentioned but it takes time to get custom to all the functions and options that the product can offer. We are a digital marketing business, so it was easy to learn it. Once the program is set up, it runs by itself.

A Strong CRM / Email Marketing Solution / Not Trivial to Set Up

Infusionsoft is a CRM solution designed for small businesses. It's not the tool for enterprise or medium sized businesses needing more than 15 to 20 seats. Think of it as a MailChimp / Saleforce with an emailing workflow engine. It allow you to build email sequences that adjust the content you send based on what each contact does. Pros

The tool has a lot of power. It enables you to automate email campaigns targeting each contact based on what you know about them. If they answer a question on a form, you can sent them one thing. If you learn they live in one state versus another, you can customize content to them. If they visit specific pages of your site and login many times into your membership site, you can change what they see. It has a huge amount of power.

Cons

It's not a do-it-yourself tool. Lot's of people complain saying it's too hard to use and too expensive. Infusionsoft is a complex piece of software. If a complete newbee could make it work perfectly on their own, it wouldn't be able to provide you with all the feature it includes. I have seen Infusionsoft sold from the stage with promises that it's a self-serve, DIY solution. Honestly, it is not. That's why you have a very healthy Infusionsoft consultants and partners community servicing it. These consultants and partner focus on all aspects of the solution working to help business owners put the tool to good use.
