I am a long long long time user/patron of their product and I have had the best time dealing with their team of account managers and techs.  The single best attribute of any company is their ability to take criticism and turn it into a change and a positive experience for the user/customer.  They've grown and evolved. Most companies don't, let's be honest.  I actually enjoy the interactions with them. I've grown to know some of the individuals that work there over the years and seen then not only excel but also be appreciated by the powers that be.  They take a team approach to their employees.  They also have fun with the sporting events like the Pond Hockey Tournament that they co-sponsor.  SportEngine is a community not just a supplier/provider.  
I will likely always be an advocate and customer of theirs as long as they continue to evolve and nurture their relationships as they go. 

When in doubt go for the GOLD standard!

Registration and player management has become much simpler and more streamlined since we switched to SportsEngine, with everything being 100% online. It has made our processes simpler and faster to work through, from rostering to invoicing and even processing refunds. As a Club Admin and parent, I also find the website to be very user friendly for both sides.

I've been with these guys from the beginning with multiple sports and clubs.  They keep improving, keep listening and are generally fun people to work with.  I think there's room for improvement in their product and they keep doing that, which is what I appreciate the most.  They're also far ahead of their competition in terms of support and engagement with their user community.

Or club is able to spend the time with the actual things that matter for any youth sports organization: the families....we know the business side is now solid with the use of SportsEngine.

It's doubled the size of our club in three year. The new site seems to project more confidence but it also appears very high in search engine results for our area, so we have more exposure. It's dramatically reduced the time we have to spend getting information to people or collecting information and fees.

The MN Selects were able to replace the manual registration process for approximately 700 players each year with an online solution that has built in reporting capabilities.  So, in addition to managing our Festival more effectively in terms of time and money, we are also able to leverage various functionality to allow our coaches to track their registrations, assign jersey numbers, etc., as well as allow our Directors to track their regions teams at a holistic level.  

I have been the webmaster of the MN Selects Festival for the past seven years.

Our overall experience with SportsEngine has been excellent. With use of this software we have converted our regular newsletter from an expensive printed format to an online format published on our website. This software has allowed us to streamline our new member enrollment and annual membership renewal by doing it all online and getting away from the endless inaccurate paper trails. All registrations for our club events and trips are more easily managed through this software, and we are able to keep track of our club membership more easily and accurately. Communicate with our club membership through mass or individual emails is made possible by the software.

Poor.  If I can find another company with some similar features, even it not as robust would change today.

If you can figure it all out yourself.  If you are OK reading and not getting support from a person, this would work.  

Very robust and a great site, they simply do not have the back office to support tit.

Used to be Great

It was easy to setup our team and the corresponding website that was created was great. After the first year, we kept getting nickled and dimed from SE. We were happy to use the app and website the way we were, but customer service wanted us to use more of their features that were available. We started getting charged MORE for not using online registration or online payments. Our customer service representative didn't like to return calls to work out the problems we faced. We also couldn't get copies of the contract that stated we had to use online registration and payments for players.

Great Product, Awful Customer Service

Eliminated our Accounts Receivables, Game Scheduler to go to desktop, IOS/Android Apps, data base generator, Game registrations flexibility and each team registration communications as well as being flexible to enable our live game iScorecast to be incorporated into SportsEngine software.  

We converted our complex custom operational sports web site  to Sports Engine platform. 

The organization this has provided, as well as the ease of scheduling, rostering and reports we are able to do with ease puts a smile on our face every time. Often hear "yes, done in record time".

Worth every penny!!

I have liked most of the functions on SE except the payment options that have no flexibility.  I like the recurring payments from parents but I couldn't add any credits or debits to any account.  Now I am being told I can't use my 3rd party merchant services.  So it's either break a contract with my merchant service provider who gives me GREAT rates and use SE high rates or find new software.  Very frustrating.

Sport Engine has been great for my league since the first day I changed over to their website. 

I like the website, I like what it can do and my customer like the way it looks. Now I wish it was easier to get a hold of Customer Service. Or if Customer Service emails back all I get is link on my question. Its very cold and un customer friendly.  There is probably so much more I could be doing with my 2 websites but no one will ever spend the time to really help you. You have to figure out everything on your own

7on7 Football with SE

We currently use the software for our website, a mobile app, tournament software, background screening and online registrations.

SportsEngine has been a great partner and provider for our organization for nearly a decade. 

Our experience has been terrific.  Great company to do business with,  Highly recommend. 

I use Sports Engine to run a year-round sports club, and it is an incredible tool. It is essentially a one-stop location for both the admin need, as well as the parent/player need. Team communication can also occur on location, and user assignments such as a team or coach permissions can be added. Most all the features have some customization, and with a few link shared to parents their onboarding is a smooth process. Sports Engine covers current issues such as the safety, and helps cover all the needed items in the registration process. It leaves more time to be on the field!  I actually visited with my organizations rep in their home office and we had a great Q&A.

It's been terrific.  We have a small team working with SportsEngine and our website and SE and the service and support team have been fantastic to work with.

Ease of use  is King!

Glenn:                                                 Hi, my name is Glenn, and I am a social media and sports management expert, and I give SportsEngine a three out of five stars rating.
                                                       Prior to using SportsEngine, we used probably their biggest competitor, TeamSnap, for all our organization's sports management requirements. We switched over temporarily to SportsEngine, because we wanted to implement some of the additional features such as website access, online services, potential tournament set up as well on the platform. There was a whole host of additional requirements and features that we wanted that SportsEngine could offer us that we weren't satisfied with the previous application, which was TeamSnap.
                                                       The overall interface of the app for smart devices seemed to be a little bit easier than TeamSnap. The ability to switch to the web platform that directly interfaces with the app was a huge plus for us, because it meant that whatever we did on one was immediately available on the other. It was potentially going to give us a much simpler and smoother transition from one to the other to better manage our athletes, as well as our overall website for our sports organization.
                                                       The onboarding part of it was pretty easy. We started setting up all the player profiles for our organization's teams, the players and/or their parents were claiming the profiles and setting them up. That part was pretty easy to do. Where it became a bit of a challenge was if there was a problem with somebody's access, whether they needed a different email address or something wasn't quite right. As soon as they claimed the profile as an administrator for our organization's teams, I didn't have the backend capability to make any changes to the important parts that they needed. A lot of parents had tried going to through tech support to get the help that they needed, and it wasn't as easy as it probably could have or should have been. I know that when I spoke to the tech support side of SportsEngine, they said that they intentionally took away some of those privileges from the admins, so that the players and their parents would take more ownership of the profiles, which I guess is not a bad idea in theory, but at the end of the day, it became more of a headache for everybody else.
                                                       As far as the website part of this whole equation that we did, they did a great job building our website based on our requirements and our guidance. Their onboarding, for me, as the administrator of the website, was pretty easy. Matter of fact, it was a lot easier than I expected it to be. Shortly after being onboarded, I was able to go in and make the changes to webpages, to add webpages, to add photos here and there, and to just generally make the website our own. So it was a pretty good experience in general.
                                                       Okay. This should be interesting, because my recommendation is, do not use SportsEngine, and I'll explain why. While the software of SportsEngine is pretty good, it's at least as good as its other competitors, such as TeamSnap. The website part of it, very good as well. Their customer service is absolutely horrible. Absolutely horrible. As an analogy for this, a lot of people in the world subscribe to cable television services, where you pick and choose what it is you want to pay for. If the provider has 300 channels and you only want to subscribe to 100 of them, you pay for 100 of them. Pretty simple. With SportsEngine, we paid for them to create the website and to administer the website on the backend for us for a year.
                                                       I don't remember what the cost for the website build was, and I'm not sure exactly how much we were paying per year for the service, but they kept hitting us with additional fees on top of it, despite saying, no, that's all you're going to pay for the year. They kept shutting our website down, saying that we owed them money for this fee and for that fee. And they were very difficult to get in touch with, to get a human being to answer my questions.
                                                       The first time I spoke to our supposed customer service rep, they said, "Oh, well, you're not using our online player registration tool." And I said, "Okay, but we don't need that." And they said, "No, you have to use it." I said, "Why do I have to use it, if I'm subscribing to your service? I'm not asking for anything that I'm not paying for. I'm just saying we don't want to use that function." And they said, "Well, if you're not going to use it, it's going to be another $300 per year." So I said, "All right, well, I'll see what we can do about getting our players to start registering online." So that went away. And then six months later, our website was disabled again. They didn't answer any of our emails or phone calls right away.
                                                       And when we finally did get ahold of somebody, they said, "Oh, well, you're not using our online services to use online payment. None of your players are paying for their fees and their registrations online through our services." And I said, "We don't want to do that. We have it already set up the way that we want it to be. Our players pay our organization, either by check or by Venmo or any other payment method they choose. They don't want to go through the SportsEngine website to do this."
                                                       And I was told, well, then it's going to be another few hundred dollars of fees for not using our technology. I asked, "What are you talking about?" They said, "Well, we spend a lot of time and energy creating these options for people through our technology. And if people aren't using what we create, then it costs us time and money on the back end of it." And I asked them, "Well, that's kind of silly, because I should be paying for what I'm using, not for what I'm not using. And if I don't want to use those elements of your service, I should not be getting charged extra for them for not using them." So long story short, we ended up canceling our subscription with SportsEngine and we went back to TeamSnap. And I highly don't recommend SportsEngine at all.

                                                       Prior to using SportsEngine, I used TeamSnap, which was certainly a consideration. However, with all the communication and the accessibility and the backend platform, we decided to go with SportsEngine.
                                                       The reasons we went with SportsEngine was simply because with our organization, we needed a platform that we could use while we were away from the hotel on a sports field. We needed a communication platform that we could communicate to all the parents and players at once, in any location. And I needed a backend platform that allowed me to register parents efficiently and smoothly and communicate the results to them.
                                                       Integrating SportsEngine into our business was a fairly straightforward process. What we needed to do first was communicate the information to our parents, providing a link, also providing instructions, which were easy enough to give to parents about how to utilize the app, how to communicate via the chat, and also how to access their team page while they were away at a tournament and items such as that.
                                                       For anyone who is running an organization in a sports league, I would highly recommend SportsEngine, because you have the ability to communicate to all of your parents. You have the ability to advertise your products and services, and the ability to work with your players through the website, through team pages. And there is a lot of different avenues to explore as far as a team store, email blasts and other key relationships that exist with SportsEngine that you can use.
