worst tech tools I have ever used, been continually ban for no good reason, they just can't figure our your account status, how do you even trust them to run your ads with your money??
Nothing, it is just a bad designed, bad algo under a big tech name which had fired tens of thousands people because they make this crap
they ban small business account arbitrary without legit reasons, they lack of product categories and they blame on you, they ban you for fun because they can.

In general is good. It helps our customers products to be found.
You get clicks for free (Google show your products even if you don't implement a paid campaign)
Support. Google support sucks. All Google products work fantastic as long as your situation do not deviate from whatever the designers consider it is the norm. Google should make it easier to contact and interact with support.

I started using the Google merchant center tool when creating advertising campaigns for Google adwords purchases. I found my way around the service environment quite quickly. It is a quite simple tool to understand even for an ordinary person who would like to connect his e-shop to adwords purchases.

For better and worst, it's a Google Product. So, great integration with Google's platforms and also a huge community of developers and software dedicated to Google Merchant Center.
Being a Google product means that the standarization it's one of the gaps if you want adhoc features.

It's a must for any e-commerce with products you want to get found in search.
It's free and quite easy to use once you have it setup.
Can be difficult to setup and support is limited. There are many parameters and it's hard to know what should be used for all your products.

This is easy to use once you understand it and have some level of experience. Disaprovals and suspensions can take a long time to get resolved and GMC often wont provide much info to help you get there.
The ability to optimize products can be limited. It really depends who you get from the support team whether they are helpful or not. Some will provide alot of info on issues where others wont.

Great integration with different Google services. Also, it is standarized as popular so it works with first layer and mid layer eContent syndication tools.
It's Google at their best and at their worst. Adhoc customization and particularties in different markets or product categories are not their best selling points.

Google offers many tools to advertise, manage and promote websites. For e-commerce websites like mine, Merchant Center is the most important as it connects to Google Shopping Ads AND in recent years, offered FREE listings and FREE sales opportunities via Buy on Google.
Free traffic and free sales listings. The only "catch" is you have to submit a properly formatted product feed and set up Buy on Google.
Google Merchant Center has annoying little quirks that cause it to reject specific products for incorrect or silly reasons. One big example is when the Washington Redskins abandoned their nickname due to political correctness, Google suddenly rejected not only all my Redskins products, but even non-Redskins products that happened to have the word Redskins printed on it.

The overall experience was very smooth and easily customizable as per my business needs.
I like that it provides so many features like uploading entire product listings, helping me to reach multiple customers across google, identifying insights about my ads, create and managing campaigns.
Like any other app, there is a learning curve for this. But, once mastered, Google merchant center can do wonders in growing the business.
