Nintex overview

What is Nintex?

Nintex is a process management and workflow automation platform that connects people, systems, and AI on a single governed platform. Available as a multi-tenant cloud deployment (Nintex CE) and a self-hosted on-premises deployment (Nintex Automation K2) for organizations with strict data sovereignty, privacy, and compliance requirements, the platform serves enterprises, mid-market companies, government agencies, and defense contractors across financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, government, pharmaceuticals, retail, education, and technology sectors. Core capabilities include a drag-and-drop, low-code workflow builder with step-by-step and orchestration modes, process mapping and real-time tracking with ISO compliance support, document generation in Word and PDF formats across multiple languages, Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) for automated data extraction from inbound forms and invoices, electronic signature collection, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), customizable digital forms with mobile support, dynamic case management, and low-code custom application development. Pre-built connectors to Salesforce, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Teams, alongside a custom connector framework, consolidate disparate systems into unified automated workflows. Role-based access controls, audit trails, and environment protection are built into the platform to support governance and regulatory compliance at scale.

AI capabilities are integrated throughout the platform. The Agent Designer enables custom AI agents to be built and deployed into processes, operating autonomously or under human supervision. Generative AI powers workflow generation from natural language descriptions and process maps, form generation from natural language prompts, and form translation into 130-plus languages. Built-in AI actions support document and image understanding, including extraction, translation, summarization, and sentiment analysis of inbound content. AI-powered process capture automates the creation of process maps from text prompts and user activity recordings, while the Intelligent PDF Forms Converter uses computer vision to digitize static PDF files into editable digital forms. A machine learning-based Visio import converts static diagrams into dynamic BPMN process models. On-premises AI capabilities are available for regulated environments via Nintex Automation K2. The platform is used by over 7,000 organizations across 100-plus countries, with applicability across IT, HR, finance, legal, sales, marketing, and operations teams, as well as software developers and implementation partners.
