Lightspeed365 overview

What is Lightspeed365?

Lightspeed365 is an add-on layer for SharePoint Online. Rather than a separate intranet platform, it deploys into the Microsoft 365 tenant you already own and extends native SharePoint with the components a working intranet needs.

Functions. The library covers more than 30 web parts. Findability comes from AI-powered search across intranet content, a structured people directory with filterable profiles, and an app launcher for everyday tools that users can personalize and administrators can mandate. Communications is served by news web parts and full-page news components, alerts, noticeboards, a personalized welcome bar, social media feeds and page tours for onboarding. Self-service is handled by the handbook web part, a configurable searchable interface that pulls documents and pages from designated sources into a single topic-focused view. Governance components include site provisioning with approval workflow for creating SharePoint sites, Teams spaces or Viva Engage groups, and an admin dashboard for configuring and provisioning every Lightspeed365 component from inside the intranet.

Templates. Site templates provide complete multi-page structures with navigation and design for areas such as homepages, onboarding, benefits hubs, department landing pages, policy libraries and location pages. Page templates cover single pages including news, campaigns and directories. A branding customizer applies your identity across pages and web parts.

Integrations. SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams and Viva Connections for in-Teams access, Entra ID for identity, group membership and audience targeting, Outlook, and Microsoft Clarity for engagement analytics covering content performance, user journeys and adoption trends. Lightspeed365 coexists with Microsoft Copilot: its AI search operates over intranet content while editors continue using Copilot to draft pages and news in SharePoint.

Architecture and security. Everything executes inside your tenant. There is no external platform, no third-party data processing and no Azure infrastructure to provision or maintain. Content stays in SharePoint, so your existing data residency, retention and compliance configuration applies unchanged. Access follows native SharePoint and Entra permissions rather than a parallel permission model, so there is no separate user administration or extra attack surface. With no external dependency there is no lock-in: remove the licence and your content stays in SharePoint.

Administration. Multilingual intranets are supported through SharePoint's native translation framework, which all components are compatible with. An accessibility web part improves navigability and usability for employees with diverse needs. Audience targeting by Entra group controls what each user sees by role, location or division, alongside elective personalization chosen by the employee.

Deployment. Licence-only deployment goes live in around a week: install, swap native web parts for Lightspeed365 components, apply branding. A full implementation delivered by our consultants typically runs eight to twelve weeks, covering discovery, information architecture, design, content migration and launch support. Every licence includes installation, configuration documentation and a customer success call, with ongoing support by email and phone plus a knowledge base, video library and live online training.

Licensing. Available as a one-time perpetual licence or an annual subscription, in Core and Premium bands. Purchasable direct, through Microsoft Marketplace, or via the UK government G-Cloud framework. A 14-day trial runs in your own tenant.

Lightspeed365 is built by Content Formula, a Microsoft 365 consultancy designing intranets since 2005. Users include Severn Trent, Baringa and Dixons Academies Trust. Rated 4.8 on G2.
