What users say

This is a great program, very user friendly (works like any Windows-based program with similar menus and functions) and well worth the cost. I highly recommend you consider it.
The built-in coding algorithm, combined with improved documentation, has allowed for an improvement in revenue. I like the fact that the wizards and templates are fully customizable and editable.

I have a multi-clinic urgent care/occupational medicine practice in Nashville, TN. Because we handle both urgent care and occupational medicine cases, it was impossible for many years to find a single-solution program for what we do. There are so many differences between those two types of practices in terms of protocol, handling of information, and billing that, if we wanted to do it all well, we...

We have had this product since 2006-2007 and love.

Pros

The features are easy to use and it interfaces with our other programs. The price point is great for a small private practice.

Cons

It does not do my paperwork for me. But it does provide templates that are easy to use.

Poor implementation, lack of support and poor features. Tissue analytics does not work well!

Reviewed 8 months ago

No positive words, our journey has been difficult, and we have had to keep our old EMR for the essential functions and this adds to our expense.

Pros

We enjoy the features that allow for easy billing.

Cons

We regret being talked into the purchase of this EMR. We thought we were upgrading. Instead we have no ability to fax documents out of the system, no ability to assign a task to a staff member, where the patient's chart opens up . Tissue analytics is not healful in measuring the wound, every measurement has to be manually corrected. We have reached out to support to the point that they are sick of us. Especially when our providers needed precription abilities, this took 2.5 months. We were advised to write about all of our concerns into the "communities" section and we have done so, but we are still waiting for basic features in even the older and cheaper EMRs that allow us to fax out referrals, e-prescribe with no problems, and use applications that actually work for tissue imaging.

Optima Rocks!

Reviewed 5 years ago

I love the fact that the product owners, and clinical director, are so eager to speak to the customers, to gain insight in the needs of the customer, in order to meet their needs.

Pros

I love the support that is provided to my team, in regards to issues, that arise in day to day operations. The soft ware encourages/facilitates skilled and medically necessary documentation, to support the services provided to the elders we serve. Optima provides us with tools, that increase efficiency and effectiveness to provide more opportunities for patient care, the ultimate reason we do what we do.

Cons

Honestly, nickel and dime. there is always something extra... with an additional cost. we are all in business, and i respect that, however, i feel like every time i turn around, there is something else that costs an additional fee.

Optima

Reviewed 4 years ago

Very good. The program itself is good and easy to use. Customer service generally responds quickly to resolve any issues.

Pros

This product is easy to navigate. It does not require a huge learning curve. I am able to quickly and effectively train staff on the use of this program.

Cons

To customize features it cost additional money. It also requires one to take time to plan out what would need customized. I wish that building to building Optima would just come with all the features needed and be the same for every facility.

We have been very happy with the functionality of this software and customer support.

Reviewed 5 years ago

I believe Optima is a good value for our using in our Skilled Rehab Unit. The price is fair and we get great customer service.

Pros

It is very comprehensive for both clinical and business applications. They upgrade to keep up with compliance and CMS regulations.

Cons

The only challenge we have is that it does not interface with EPIC in the Inova Health System. It will interface with Matrix, the new LTC, EMR, being implemented this year.

Optima Software - feedback

Reviewed 7 years ago

Overall, always have been a fan of Optima over any other rehab post acute software.

Pros

I appreciate that Optima Therapy stays up with the latest healthcare changes and offers a solution to needed tracking and/or reporting.

Cons

I do not care for the way Optima introduces enhancements but, then slips in later once you want to activate the service that this would be at an additional cost.

I highly recommend Optima HCS. the administration, functionality and customer service cannot be matched.

Pros

Product is easy to use for the user and administration. software stays current with all industry changes

Cons

'A la carte' pricing policy. Often hard to 'explain' to accountants. include modules or packages rather than line by line charges per facility

Cons

The billing aspect had a lot of manual processes and the customer support was terrible. It would take hours on hold to reach an agent and they would not respond to messages.

I would NOT recommend this software

Pros

It is an Occupational medical clinic oriented software and is able to utilize our clearing house for billing.

Cons

The worst support I have ever experienced, it is practically non-existent, the update charges are outrageously expensive, the reports are very difficult to withdraw the needed information for practice management

Vendor response

We’re sorry we have let you down, Bryce. We strive to keep our customers as satisfied as possible and are disappointed to hear about your experience. Our team is reaching out to learn more about your feedback. Thank you!

ReDoc review

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

Very thorough degree of documentation with specific areas to document most any condition. It gives good value to any documentation with great final documents created that are easy to read and understand

Cons

Requires a large degree of redundancy when performing evaluations, re-evaluations, discharge summaries. You have to basically create 3 separate notes when performing a more exhaustive evaluation instead of it all being on one form. Does add time and burden to documentation.

Optima for therapy documentation

Reviewed 5 years ago

Optima has added business intelligence reporting however there is a cost associated with this product. Would be nice to see them make frequently used reports available to all users who are paying a monthly service fee.

Pros

Optima stays up to date with changes in healthcare and adjusts software accordingly. They are prepared in a timely manner for CMS changes.

Cons

It is Costly to make customized changes, long lag time to make customized changes, can take months.

The single biggest impact that Agility EHR has had for our urgent care and occupational health business is that we’ve realized an average revenue increase of $16 per patient visit in the first four months of use. This increased revenue quickly adds up to a big impact when you realize that we will see about 55,000 patients in just this year alone. When we started our software search, our occupational...

Transition and use of Optima

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

Drop down items are easy to use. System was fairly easy to learn and navigate with very limited training.

Cons

Lacking some useful reports for operational use. Lacking good dropdown items but would come with a cost to add them. During the transition of using Optima, the manner in which to view what the libraries consisted of took a tremendous amount of work. The transition was not made easy. Unable to view past documentation is not easy and requires additional steps which then makes documentation inefficient. No specific evaluations/clinical pathways like promised, it would come with a cost which was after the fact stated.

OT and director of OTA training program: I rate this software very low as an evaluating therapist

Reviewed 9 years ago

I have used this software with four different rehab companies (each has a slightly different version), as an evaluating therapist. I find Casamba to be clumsy, obstructive, clinically inappropriate for OT and designed much more for physical therapists than for occupational therapists. Surely, there could be some adjustments to make it so the OT evaluation looks more like OT as defined by the Occupational Therapy Framework that guides our profession. I would happy to give more details on how it could be improved, if you care to contact me. Thanks.
