Value for money rating:
Of 287 reviews that provide robust commentary on Amazon S3's price and value, 73% mention it in a positive light.
Most reviewers indicate that Amazon S3 offers strong value for money, especially due to its pay-as-you-go pricing model, which allows users to purchase storage without long-term commitments or large upfront investments. They appreciate the availability of a free tier for new users, flexible storage classes that help optimize costs, and the ability to scale storage needs affordably for both small and large projects. Reviewers find the service cost-effective for archiving, static website hosting, and integrating with other AWS services, noting that the pricing is reasonable given the features, reliability, and scalability provided. They also mention that the ability to choose different storage classes and manage costs with billing alerts is beneficial for budget control.
Some reviewers report that Amazon S3’s pricing structure can be confusing, with unpredictable monthly bills and additional charges for data transfers, downloads, or cross-region usage. They feel that the complexity of billing and the need to monitor usage closely can lead to unexpected costs, especially for large-scale operations or frequent data retrieval. Some users say that support fees and higher costs compared to competitors can be a drawback, particularly for small businesses or those unfamiliar with AWS’s pricing model.

Amazon S3 integrations (301)
Integrations rated by users
We looked at 1,109 user reviews to identify which products are mentioned as Amazon S3 integrations and how users feel about them.
Integration rating: 4.8 (5)
“Specifically, first, the local server service was reconfigured using Docker, etc., the application part was operated on EC2 and the storage part was operated via containers using S3. In a fairly short period of time, we created a mechanism to synchronize and compare internal data. Since S3 (like EC2) can be easily controlled by the user, including starting and stopping service usage, almost no costs were wasted in development and operation.”
“Our main application resides on the ec2 instance to talk to S3. Most of the files stored on S3 comes from our main application, including backups. Without EC2, there will be no way to generate the files for S3 to store.”
“Scalability in both EC2 and S3 sides are important, for that reason it is a critical integration.”
