Pros

For this price level, the tools available are fantastic. One of my favourite tools is the ability to solve maths equations and provide step by step hints on how the whole thing is done.
So if I do not have my laptop on me because I am out of the office I can use my cellphone. My team also likes that we can share our notes with each other for progress updates and team notes.
In summary, it is an excellent application that fulfills what it promises.

Pros

Zoho Notebook is a absolute gorgeous note-taking app, just one of the best out there. Zoho has an affordable price and beautiful design.
If you don't need all the bells and whistles of Word or Notes, this is the perfect solution for notes and it integrates with Evernote. Want a fun way to take notes or liven up a to do list.
The free plan is excellent, nothing is required, and the cloud storage option works great.

Cons

One of the most frustrating aspects of this program was the loss of information. Annual program updates would lose data from the prior version to the updated version.
The level of familiarity with the app by my team had some people ineffective at using it in the beginning.
I'm confused why it's not possible to integrate it with Outlook.

Cons

Zoho Notebook is missing a lot of extremely basic functionalities, many of which are related to its severely limited WYSIWYG editor.
That is perhaps a major lacking feature. Also, lack of shortcuts, which is frustrating when I am working on multiple tabs and have to extract just tiny bits of info from each.
Notes are presented as cards, there is no possibility to have a list view which takes less space.

Extremely user friendly! Best tool for screenshots of PC

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

Love how easy it is to use. And how you can collaborate with it. It is the best tool by far for screenshots from your PC. I have used it for everything from project documentation to training in Power Point presentations. You can screenshot each step as it will be seen on the PC screen, which makes it so useful.

Cons

The notebook must be organized and if you are not paying attention, you can send it to the wrong notebook or the wrong page of a notebook.

OneNote Review

Reviewed 7 months ago

It has been a godsend as I need a way to preserve and organize hundreds of documents that were previously maintained by a coworker who was retiring. I stepped in as the new knowledge keeper of the department but needed a better way to make sense of years' worth of information. OneNote allowed me to hyper organize all of the documentation while taking things to an even more detailed approach.

Pros

This is an amazing way to maintain a knowledge base for my department in one convenient location instead of trying to keep track of countless documents.

Cons

There are several ways to own a notebook (cloud, local storage, etc.) so it can be confusing to end users when trying to identify where they notebook "lives".

Pros

A pro about using OneNote is being able to directly print documents, emails, etc. into a notebook. This has helped organize communication for specific projects. And if I wanted to share that notebook of my project, I can do so easily.

Cons

A con about using OneNote is not being able to save something if I need to create a new notebook. The notebook already needs to be created.

One Note Forever!

Reviewed 2 years ago

It’s my go to place to store everything. Love that it easily integrates with other applications like excel and outlook, and that it supports so many different functions. It’s like the best of everything in one place.

Pros

I love most everything about one note, it’s the equivalent of a virtual notebook; and I much prefer using a notebook and pen so this has made all the difference.

Cons

That I can’t view more than one notebook at a time.

I like that I don't have to carry around a notebook, that I can use this on my tablet, phone, computer, and separate separate meetings/topics in a digital notebook.

Cons

In order to really get the best use out of this product, you need to subscribe to Office 365, not a big deal for me, but I know thats a drawback for others.

Overall notebook helped me keep my notes organized in one location

Pros

Integration between Outlook and notebook works well together as when there's a meeting you can easily take notes and populate the list of attendance within the meeting. You can open different notebooks, and create pages and sections... This also get saved into the cloud so you can access it from any location.

Cons

The left to write and right to left language changes mess up the pages. Also, it's sometimes hard to control the text boxes.

Very positive but I would be open to other tools

Pros

I liked that I could keep everything contained within Microsoft. I was a student and liked to keep everything together in a nice succinct notebook. My friends all used a variety of Google docs but I liked this better so I continued using it at my next job.

Cons

I didn't quite understand how the notebook structure worked. At some point, I ended up with two versions of the notebook and never could figure out the difference and it lost some of its elegance.

I've enjoyed my OneNote experience so far. It's user friendly, easy to include others and share information through it, and customizable.

Pros

I like the concept of OneNote and it's a great substitute for a traditional notebook. There are a ton of options for customizing pages and making it your own and it can easily be shared with others either for collaboration or just for viewing.

Cons

I wish there were more layouts options for the notebooks/pages within each notebook. The tabs for each page and list view on the side for each allow each page within each notebook to be seen but, more choices for how that view is set up would be nice.

I love Zoho Notebook and recommend that you try it if you are using Evernote. They have a migration tool to make the switch easy.

Pros

I like the accessibility through the web plugin and Zoho Mail Integration. The web plugin allows for image editing of screen shots aiding one's notes further. The familiar system of notebooks makes the app easy to use. Color coding of notes is also useful. The notes Zoho had previously did not touch Evernote or Microsoft OneNote. Zoho is really catching up - enough that I am not sure if they have caught up or not. Certainly as a free alternative the its a no brainer.

Cons

Until it has been around longer to be able to extend its list of integrations Zoho Notebook is still going to lag behind the leaders.

Zoho Notebook

Extremely basic, even for a free option

Reviewed 3 years ago

If you're looking for something simple, no-frills, and very stripped down, this may be a good option for you, but don't look for particularly sophisticated or advanced features like you might expect from Evernote or OneNote.

Pros

There are a few nice features offered by Zoho Notebook that are nevertheless not particularly functional or useful. You can, for example, choose your own picture to adorn the covers of your various notebook icons instead of simply picking a color. There is also available two-factor authentication, which is great for keeping things extra secure, and the interface is so pared down that it is almost impossible not to immediately figure out how the software works. It does also have good cross-platform support.

Cons

Zoho Notebook is missing a lot of extremely basic functionalities, many of which are related to its severely limited WYSIWYG editor. The font cannot be changed, there are extremely few formatting options, and the bits of formatting that you are allowed to use oftentimes change if you close and then reopen a note. Line breaks vs. paragraphs are extremely problematic (the software doesn't seem to recognize the difference between the two). It also lacks robust tagging or organizational features.

Zoho Notebook

A simple cross platform notes taking application

Reviewed 2 years ago

my experience with Zoho Notebook is not good. I would this software 2.5 out of 5 stars. It needs major improvements. If they provide the necessary features then it could be powerful software as notes are stored and backed up online. I did not extensively use the Zoho notebook as it did not meet my expectation. Hopefully, they will listen to my feedback and will do the needful.

Pros

The first thing I like about Zoho software(s) is Security. They provide MFA(multi-factor authentication), and device management features for added security. My note-taking experience in Zoho Notebook is average. This software has the potential to replace OneNote but somehow the user experience is not so rich and other important features like templates, formatting, etc are missing. However, while taking notes you can see full notes of previous activity history which I think is pretty amazing.

Cons

In my opinion, the user experience needs to be improved. Also, the background of the notes is a bit boring. The background should make the user focus on the content. There are no copy formatting (etc) features which makes working with Zoho Notebook hard. While using this application, I felt that It should have global search features to search required information within all notebooks. So, the global search is missing. Also, You can export your notes in limited file types like .pdf and Zoho-specific format. There is no integration available with other software as per knowledge hence you can it with other productivity apps.

Zoho Notebook

The #1 partner for administrative and documentation tasks

Reviewed a year ago

I have been very useful to have Zoho Notebook, this tool facilitates the work and administrative tasks in a great way, it is also kind to the environment as it eliminates the use of paper in all its processes; otherwise encourages the collaboration of the entire team, integrates seamlessly with other administrative and commercial tools both Zoho suite and third party Microsoft and Google, this expands the possibilities of adaptation in other environments that are also part of our organization, in conclusion a great product to get the most out of it.

Pros

In my daily work I have to take a considerable number of notes (payment of suppliers, creation of accounts, requests for labor certifications) and assign or escalate tasks that will be developed throughout the day with a specific time for their response; With Zoho Notebook I have been able to eliminate the stickers that invaded my workplace but at the time were of great help to remember the tasks of the day, Notebook allows me to organize by notebooks all the notes associated with the same topic which facilitates the search on subsequent occasions in order to extract valuable information, also allows me with the team to assign tasks and label the members responsible for it and get the answer within the stipulated time, for all this collaboration is crucial.

Cons

Some of the functions such as the search by tag has been of great help especially in notes that take a long time, of course, as long as its content is correctly associated there will be no problems in the search as the tool provides options to facilitate this process, for everything else meets my expectations and those of the working group.
