Pros and cons

There are premade templates that are great, and provides awesome insight on how powerful the software really is. I frequently use their social media calendar, and the project list.
I like to see a whole month's worth of content at one time. It is also super helpful that one team member can upload content and another can download from a different location.
I love the low price-point and the amazing customer service they have, by far one f the most powerful low-cost database/spreadsheet tool out there.
What I dislike most about this software is that I cannot type extended sentences in one box. Whenever I try to paste a long sentence or paragraph the words go into the rows beneath.
Some features around forms are notably missing and it is hard to integrate work-arounds.
It was a mess trying to get it set up. Initially it was set up with separate paid spaces and then trying to get everything onto an enterprise plan was a huge headache.

Once I started using it, any other table option makes me turn off

Reviewed 9 months ago

It absolutely gives me the edge in planning my work.

Pros

Just the variaties of ways to show data - table, kanban, gallery, calendar, timeline, form! Its incredibly versatile and means you can craft it to many different types of people from CEO, to Marketing, to Finance.

Cons

The only downside I can see is that the per-seat amount can get high for multiple team members, I wish this could be lower or to only include core team members in that amount while having 'visitors' that have less access in the document.

Versatile Tool for Data Organization

Reviewed a month ago

Airtable has been a game-changer for me in terms of data organization and collaboration. While the cost and learning curve may be a concern for some users, the benefits of using Airtable far outweigh the drawbacks.

Pros

Airtable's user-friendly interface, customizable fields, and record linking capabilities make it a versatile and powerful tool for organizing data. Its integrations with other tools also help automate workflows and streamline processes.

Cons

Airtable's pricing can be steep, especially for larger teams, and the learning curve may be steep for some users.

Flexible and User-Friendly.

Reviewed a month ago

It has been positive. The platform has allowed me to create customized and efficient tools for managing projects and data.

Pros

Its flexibility and user-friendliness. The platform offers a range of templates and customization options to create unique databases, spreadsheets, and project management tools. I appreciated the ability to easily collaborate with team members and share data across different projects.

Cons

Was the limited storage capacity for the free version. While the platform is affordable, it can become expensive for larger teams or projects that require more storage. Additionally, the platform's advanced features may require some technical knowledge or training to fully utilize.

Great tool, saves me a lot of time every day.

Reviewed 4 months ago

One of my clients was facing a growing problem with their data management system. They were using disorganized spreadsheets and files, making it difficult to keep track of important data and monitor the progress of projects. Additionally, the team was frequently losing information or spending a lot of time trying to find it.Airtable allowed the company to keep all of the important information in one place, making it easier to monitor the progress of projects and make data-based decisions. Additionally, the automation options allowed the team to spend less time on repetitive tasks and more time focusing on critical issues.

Pros

Airtable is the perfect blend of a spreadsheet, database, and project management tool. Its flexibility in organizing and visualizing data is unmatched, making it a breeze to keep track of all the moving parts in my projects. It has become an essential tool in my daily work routine keeping track of leads, managing a content calendar

Cons

t would be great if it had the ability to connect directly to other databases and APIs, allowing for even greater data integration. Another feature that could be added is the ability to build custom reports and dashboards, giving users even more insight into their data. And finally, adding more robust automation options, such as the ability to trigger actions based on data changes.

Data life changer

Reviewed 23 days ago

Knowing about Airtable and start using it changes, completely the way we manage our company data

Pros

For the first time, we started, at our business, to break through all this data silos. That make our efficiency very low. Having all data flowing between our departments was an incredible improvement.

Cons

Ther is a slow development of new functions. And sometimes, instead of facilitating us to develop our needs inside Airtable, they, in someway, force customers to use third party solutions

Great product, but too expensive for small-midsize business

Reviewed 18 days ago

Great product, but we would have stuck with them if they had better pricing options, especially for small teams. They seem to want to focus all their efforts on Enterprise level users which eliminates options for the rest of us.

Pros

This is a very well developed product that is easy to use and manage and store data, collaborate, and use automations to track progress on projects.

Cons

Price! We are a small team that works with outside contractors to collaborate. But it is unfortunate that they charge the same per seat even if they only have minimal access/permissions. Once we ran out of room in our database we had to find another solution.

My review about Airtable

Reviewed a month ago

Overall, my experience with Airtable has been very positive. The software is easy to use and offers a wide variety of data management tools. I enjoyed the ability to create relationships between tables and the very powerful filtering functionality. Although the customization of table views is limited, it did not negatively affect my overall experience.

Pros

What I like the most about Airtable is its ability to connect tables together. This allows for creating relationships between data and seeing how they interact with each other. Additionally, the filtering functionality is very powerful and allows for precise and quick data sorting.

Cons

What I like the least about Airtable is the lack of customization in the table views. Although there are several table views available, it's not possible to fully customize the columns displayed in each view. This can make it difficult to adapt the view to a specific purpose.

Airtable is a best tool for database management

Reviewed 2 months ago

A very good experience in all the terms as it provides options to filter, save the database and manage or share with the team.

Pros

It has many options to filter, save the database and delete if anything is wrongly updated.

Cons

If people haven't used it before it's a bit complicated to understand how it works so practice will definitely help.

Pros

We use Airtable as almost anything. If you are familiar with Airtable, you know that it can be anything. Cons

Airtable's some of the premium features are not very clear. So sometimes you have to stuck in some free features without knowing that you are already over capacity. However, using this product with free option for about 2-3 years in 2 different company so far. It's great! I also use Airtable for personal stuff like school applications, job hunting, and document/resource listing.

AirTable is an Advanced Form of Excel

Reviewed 4 years ago

My work team uses airtable as opposed to Excel or Google Sheets to keep shared records, and this has been very helpful to us especially in keeping lots of complex information in one place that we can easily sort through. Because it has more features than a traditional excel sheet, like attaching documents or pictures, it is an easier way to keep track of documents than a traditional Cloud Storage system like Dropbox or Google Drive. It also gives us lots of special "blocks" that we can use (but are still exploring) so we can continue to improve our workflow and data spread.

Pros

I love that this works as an Excel document, but you can also do so much more with it - attach documents, check boxes, drop down options, and so many more things. It has great integrations with other platforms, and is easy to set up for various different functions that Excel could never offer. I also love the extra blocks you can use that give you more options for functions, such as creating pivot tables, sending texts, keeping an organizational chart, and even setting a countdown! It makes me want to explore more ways I can use this to help make our workflow better within my work team.

Cons

It does take a little getting used to at first if you are used to excel. It's not quite a replacement for Excel if you are trying to make a traditional sheet with borders, and it also isn't as easy to highlight select cells and copy/paste them in other places like in an Excel sheet. It also doesn't really support traditional Microsoft formatting which is kind of annoying when you try to copy information in. But seeing as how this is a better system for containing information, its pros outweigh the cons and you can easily use Excel and Airtable at the same time to support your various needs.

The Backbone Of Our Inventory And Recurring IT Expense Tracking

Reviewed 7 months ago

The problem of tracking our computer assets and which user is using the device has been solved. We change hands for our devices very frequently so this has helped us to easily change an assigned user for a device at a moment's notice. Also we are able to improve on our inventory being able to easily capture serial numbers by scanning hardware and taking photos to correctly identify devices.

Pros

The flexibility to add data from multiple devices and also multiple persons at the the same time.We used AirTable mainly for our Inventory tracking which is very dynamic as most of our assets change hands frequently so we can easily update who is assigned what device and for our recurring IT expenses we are able to easily track every recurring expense and see at any time the total expense for the month.

Cons

We have been using Airtable for over two years and to date we do not have any feature missing. Our experience has been very favorable.

Once You Start Using Airtable, You'll never use Excel Again!

Reviewed 2 years ago

My experience has been amazing. I don't see myself ever switching to another type of software again and I for sure am going to upgrade it to use it even more.

Pros

Where to even begin! I love how it's the 21st century excel spreadsheet. I can collaborate and keep track of clients and projects all under one document. I also, love how it live updates and the amount of features that airtable could give my company keeps growing. Because it's such a broad type of software I can customize it to exactly my needs and exactly my preferences.

Cons

There are some limitations with the advanced features, but that is understandable because the free version (which I use) is already so powerful that I can't believe they are offering it for free.

Airtable enables to keep track of the entire project management process

Reviewed 2 years ago

Airtable is my favourite project management platform that provide extensive features about project management and covers all our needs during development process.

Pros

Airtable connects our team to each other during the project development process and makes it possible to work in syncronization. Project manager can define the roles and the permission of each particular team member in a very flexible way.

Cons

Customer support is late to respond to the cases that we have created in support center and pricing plans are not flexible, 4 static pricing plans are not sufficient for this kind of a feature rich platform. User should be able to select the limits in a more flexible way.

Airtable

Reviewed a year ago

I love Airtable. I can't leave it for any other alternative out there, free and whatnot. Our data is easily accessible, trackable and so much easier to manage and manipulate with real-time impact. Airtable functions smoothly within our workflows, it's easy to manage, and is highly scalable. We love it.

Pros

Automations! Automating workflows is very important for my business because we are very few and manage a huge customer base. This takes a lot off our plates and we can focus more on the tasks we can't automate. Workflows such as weekly digests, where we send a different message to customers in different views, with specific data respective to each group. For us, automation is the real deal!

Cons

I can't really complain about Airtable's shortcomings to be really honest. But I guess that's just me. However, one problem I assume new users face though is the realization that they still need a lot of their Excel and spreadsheet skills here with Airtable formulas. It is not as friendly in that department to inexperienced users. I suppose that could be a con for new users not proficient with Excel sheets or spreadsheets in general.

A robust, flexible tool for organizing just about anything

Reviewed 2 years ago

I have built web-based apps to manage content for membership sites in the past, and first explored Airtable as a way to shorten and simplify the development process. This was a real success. I found it easy and quick to set up equivalent databases, storing content that could be customized on the fly for individual users, and controlling availability of assets by subscription level, by embedding views of an Airtable base on my own site. I have also used Airtable to build apps for managing simple manufacturing and order fulfillment workflows, and for agricultural herd and asset management. Airtable makes it far simpler and faster to set up a productive app than by building and coding a custom solution.

Pros

I found it very easy to get started building useful bases. There are a lot of features and the possibilities are almost limitless, but the basics are fairly easy to understand, and very flexible, so once you get used to the way the tools work you can modify things and build out your bases quickly. A key feature is the library of example bases. You can install a clone of any of them into your own...

Cons

I haven't find much to dislike. Early on I did hit the limits for the number of records available in a free account, but since it's free it's not really a complaint, just a limitation to be aware of. I have found it a bit challenging to set up some more complex field relationships, for example calculations based on summaries of grouped records, but the newer add on functionalities allowing scripted manipulation of data in fields and conditional operations make it possible to do just about anything you can think of, so if you're ready for a paid account you can find a way to do most anything.

Most powerful and flexible project management tool ever

Reviewed 7 months ago

Airtable became my one stop shop for managing data / projetcs / processes - no more spreadsheets.

Pros

Most pleople start Google Sheets or Excel when they need to "control" something (a projetct, to-do list, CRM, content calender, inventory, etc). Airtable is a perfect tool to replace this: it has the "spreadsheet" feel, making it so easy to start, but it can go much further than a spreadsheet, both in terms of the amount of dimensions you are able to control and reports you can easily generate. You can scale it to a full ERP and CRM system, step by step, customized exacly the way you want.

Cons

The inability to link data from multiple bases . So you either have to build a giant base or you have to duplicate data in different bases. There has been some positive developments on this front, though.

Helped us understand complex projects

Reviewed 6 years ago

I can now build the tool I need. And since my (and my teams) needs changes with time I can modify my Airtable bases to match that. When you build your own tool with Airtable you will need to ask good questions about your need and goals and if you're in a team this can start a very good conversation. It's much easier for me now to get not lost track of a big and complex project because I can split it into smaller parts that more understandable. With features like formula and roll-up, I can setup my base to quickly show me some important information. Like how many urgent task within an acitivity.

Pros

The fact that you can build the tool you need and that in that process the conversation your team will have is very valuable. Airtable is not an out-of-the-box just but more like Lego bricks and the (almost) only your own imaging that set the boundaries. So you need to ask the right questions about what is it you want to do and know? Which information do you need and what do you want to be able to...

Cons

I will say that hardest part about Airtable is understanding the logic behind it and that it is something else than a spreadsheet. I took me some time, and it has been hard explaining it to my colleagues.

Airtable is the Spreadsheet (and more) Application Everyone Needs

Reviewed 5 years ago

As I mentioned before, I am now using the application for QA and bug tracking, but have also used it for task tracking on collaborative projects I work on, which I've found to be really effective. I run my own business and am the only employee, so I don't need a full fledged project management solution and found this to be a great alternative when working with other companies that don't use one for web development, either. Since Airtable also provides different ways to view data (Grid, Form, Gallery, Calendar, Kanban) the ways in which this product can be used are infinite. There's even a mobile app!

Pros

As an early adopter of Airtable, I've seen the program grow from a more functional and intuitive version of Excel to a full fledged application that can do anything from spreadsheet management to producing a CRM or project workflow. Initially, I used the application for QA and bug tracking, but now I use it for inventory for art I collect (I can even include photos for visual reference), lead tracking and generation, and a few other practical things. The more I use Airtable, the more I'm impressed with how much potential the application has to positively impact any business, organization, or individual.

Cons

For first time users, it can be a bit intimidating, especially if checking out the application, casually. One great resource that Airtable introduced is Airtable Universe, which highlights and demonstrates working and real examples of how companies and industries are using Airtable to track deadlines, scheduling, and a slew of other use cases. I would recommend that as the starting point for any novice of the application or anyone interested in giving it a try.

Professional Services Company use Airtable for "Smarketing" (Smart Marketing)

Reviewed 3 years ago

Our Marketing Team decided to move our overall planning from Excel to Airtable in early 2020. Our main issue with Excel was that it made collaboration difficult and clumsy. We wanted a solution that provided an easy way for our team to plan both our Marketing Calendar as a whole and individual events. Airtable has streamlined both. For our overall Marketing Calendar, Airtable has provided a solution...

Pros

Airtable has made our Marketing planning efforts smarter. We love how easy it is to collaborate using this software. Each member of our team is able to easily add, update and expand on events and content they are working and everyone has a view of the team's goals as a whole. We also love now expanding and linking records gives us the ability to dive deeper into any one event / piece of content and learn more about the status. Finally, we love how easy it is to report on our activities from a bird's eye view or on a deeper level by exporting any of our tables and sharing with our executive team.

Cons

The only con of this software is that we had a bit of learning curve when we got started. We had a few customizations on our old Excel model that we lacked, but we've since been able to get all our functionality back and more. We also struggled a bit with linking records and getting our tables to sort in a way that made the most since for us. Again, we've since solved all these issues and don't miss our old Excel model at all!
