The product helps with obtaining all aspects of accounting regarding sales. It is in depth, clear to understand and help full for tax reports.
The help button could have more answers instead of using the manual.

Good system overall for what it does. Poor customer service.
Able to allow 24 hour access to our gym through the card software. Its easy to use most of the time, but there are some glitches. Easy process and new member entry. We like the SMS feature that sends text to notify of denied access or membership due.
Its expensive. The customer service is non-exsistant once you pass your initial trial unless you pay them an unreasonable customer service fee. They won't even respond back to you on small questions unless you pay them first. Every little option cost extra. In a small gym like ours this gets to be very expensive and digs into our overhead. Their system is very off and on again and sometimes freezes up and won't let people in, usually on weekends when the office staff isn't there. We would switch, but honestly there isn't another option for 24hr access systems.

Loved this software from the start and have continued to value it and the great customer support with each new year. It makes managing a gym with a vast array of retail and 24/7 access needs a snap. The access control works great and the integrated "Door Watcher" program has cut our surveillance hours in half. This is a great product and even greater people associated with it!!!
I loved the simplify of the software from the beginning. We needed something with access control and POS and this offered it all without needed a lengthy training course to use it. The ability to customize membership settings to match our unique plans was essential.
I believe we came into this company quite early and thus have been able to walk through some of the growing pains associated with growth and added features over the last 12 years. The reports had some glitches early on that had me concerned, but have been cleaned up nicely.

An organized filing system for our staff with all of our members, past and present is very helpful. It really helps our CPA and has even come in handy when applying for loans. I really wish we had someone locally that could spend some time with me so that I could get full benefit of the product as I feel I'm only utilizing a small fraction of its function.
I've never had any other software, so it's hard for me to compare to others. For all of the years that we've used the software, I'm still learning everyday. It's really helpful when someone walks you thru the process step by step. I'm a hands on type learner.
I would like video demonstrations of how to use the product better. I'm not computer literate, so reading a booklet is like starting a Greek language from scratch. As I said, I'm more of a hands on learner. I understand a fee should be involved for assistance and for technical difficulties the $350.00 annual fee is reasonable, but I feel some leeway should be given for loyal customers who have been with the company for years and have given many referrals for the product? A simple fix shouldn't warrant a $350.00 charge? IMO

We bought our first gym in 2016 and chose Gym Assistant because of it's value and simplicity. We have since added a second location with over 1,000 members along with a retail shop. Gym Assistant has been robust enough to grow with us. They continue to expand the product and the support has been outstanding.
I love the value that you get. From starting your first location with 100 members to expanding to multiple locations with 1,000+ members, Gym Assistant is robust enough to handle it. Easy to train new employees to add new members, ability for multiple membership packages, flexibility with monthly or daily billings. Point of sale add on for snack bars or retail merchandise is a great interface.
Could use a class scheduling module. Also, ability to have dual entry for the controllers, a fob and a 4 digit code for the keypad.

I wish I had this one 15 years ago when I started, I had time back then and I would have been able to figure out all the awesome functions to this program. I see them, but I still need to find the time to explore and call the company for help doing an accurate set up. As far as getting members signed up and be able to get them in the door and paying fees to keep the facility doing through this pandemic is priceless!
I liked it because with the help of my son, the set up was easy and the company was very helpful with taking him through the process. I like the fact that for a $100/year, I can have the company at my disposal to talk me through any questions I may have in setting it up. The 24/7 access is wonderful. Even if the electricity takes down the computer, the unit allows current members to still check in and keeps the information for me to put on the computer when I can get the program running again.
Taking time to use it to it's fullest is not something I have found yet. This is not the software's fault, it is mine.

Very disappointed with the customer service. We could have gone with any system, and we chose the little guy with a great system... now we're wishing we chose otherwise.
The system is easy to use and has good functionalities.
Better personal training tracking system is needed. Secondly -- We opened a second location and the [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] himself sold us on the fact that we could link the 2 locations together. Just shy of 1 year later, the 2 gyms were linked, and we have had nothing but problems. We have called and emailed with no reply back. On numerous occasions we have called and emailed them and [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] said that [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] would need to answer that question... and sometimes weeks would go by with no response. Sometimes 2 and 3 follow ups would be required before we received a response. To date our 2 gyms aren't linked properly (since January 2019). Truly disappointed!

Gym Assistant takes your feedback and makes the program better.
You can run so many different types of reports in gym assistant, it makes it easy to pull the data you need. It's also easy to change information or update member information in their profiles.
Issuing refunds is near impossible in the system, it doesn't track accurately. We need more options for adding other items that have variable costs other than needing to have each cost listed, such as our catering equipment that we rent out, and the backcountry cabin that we manage.

We are very pleased with Gym Assistant. We have found it to be a very supportive system that is accommodating and flexible with our ever evolving and growing programs.
I really love the fact that I can work Gym Assist around our business model instead of having to run our business around the abilities of Gym Assist. We are punch card and add-on services heavy, rather than long term membership heavy and Gym Assist is flexible enough to manage these services well. In addition, we can customize reports to show exactly what we need to see to keep our business on track.
When taking a payment to renew a punch card the software shoots up an alert saying how many visits are now available but they visit number cannot be edited from that screen. We have to go back in and edit the member to change the number of visits. Not a big deal, but it's an extra step.

Overall, great experience.
Gym Assistant does not charge monthly fees, it is easy to navigate, has a small learning curve, and has awesome customer support.
If they had an admin website/portal and/or admin app developed - absentee facility owners or managers who are away longer than normal time periods could manage membership changes and/or FOB issues. Using a software program that mirrors the desktop has not always worked well for us.

Overall I have been pleased with Gym Assistant as well as the support when needed. When I came into my current job Gym Assistant was not being used anywhere near its capabilities. I was pleased with the things we could do with the system once I sat down with and worked on cleaning up our membership.
Without requiring a monthly subscription Gym Assistant is a nice program for maintaining & monitoring membership at your gym. It has enough features to do most of the things we want to do. I would highly recommend getting the network version so you can have one dedicated to check-ins and use other computers for inputting & updating information.
There are some features that can be hard to understand and that the manual doesn't give clear information on their use. Like the difference between; Inactive, Terminated, Freeze, Hold, Archive, Deleted. But if you are looking for a cost effective program it is a good value for the money.

Overall, we are pleased for all the reasons previously stated.
Being able to use GA, GateKeeper, and ProShop altogether is extremely convenient. It is fairly easy to train new employees with all programs. The auto payment batches are easy to run, keeping track of member info is easy, and use of the new portal is convenient to us and members.
The time zone difference when needing assistance is probably the least convenient thing.

Payment processing and member tracking are both super easy. Anyone of my staff can use this software without messing things up too bad.
Only allows 2 doors otherwise you have to buy an entirely new upgrade that costs thousands so I'd you have tanning beds or sauna rooms, you have to pay a crazy amount of $$ to add them to system. Vizpin is not the best either when it comes to keyless app access. Not a fan of Vizpin

Gym Assistant has made tracking business and membership much easier. I use a remote access program as well, and our business has greatly improved.
I loved the new upgrade with sms for membership renewal.
We had some software issues initially, but the tech support team knocked it out of the park and kept me up-to-date on every step.

Benefits using gym assistant controls what members are coming in and out and how many members per day so we can get an average on when people most likely are working out each day. We also have insurance reimbursement programs that we offer our members and having gym assistant helps us achieve the number of check ins for each client utilizing this process. This product has been amazing to use for out start up business, We have not had any issues at all using the product and when needed; the customer support is top notch outstanding. They call you back within 30 minutes so you never have to worry about things not working properly or just general questions.

We just updated our controller to the proximity reader and controller. This will be fantastic if a storm knocks our power out and we are unavailable to restart the programs right away. Customer service is usually easy to get ahold of as well.
The software is easy to use and maneuver. When we purchased the fitness center, this software was already being utilized and it was simple to jump into the program and learn how to use it.
We are happy with the software at this point and cannot think of anything that we are not happy with.

Quick and easy sign ins. Efficient and accurate billing. Keeping down expenses.
It gave me the option of doing things independently unlike other gym software that also charge for additional services. It has been easy to use and adjust to as I increase it's uses such as Insurance tracking and reporting.
It only allows for one credit card provider to integrate billing with. Not all entered transactions show up on the the journal history.

It has suited our small fitness center very well.
This program is very easy to use. It has a lot of features that we do not need or use because we’re a very small center but I’m guessing larger gyms would utilize more of the features.
We had to purchase a whole new program when we hit 1000 members. We couldn’t just upgrade because our program was so old and the program was not designed to enroll people after 12-31-2019.

Overall the system works well, and is stable , it’s also stand alone and doesn’t have a monthly fee ( but does have a yearly service contract)
The customer service is great , I’ve never had a problem getting help , honestly if it wasn’t for how great the customer service is , I would have changed to a new system with more functionality.
It’s An old interface, it doesn’t have any mobile support , and to get multiple computers to access the system is a pain.
