What is Astah Professional?

Astah Professional is a desktop UML and data modeling tool developed by Change Vision, Inc.

Diagrams: UML 2.x (class, use case, sequence, activity, state machine, and more), ER diagrams, data flow diagrams, flowcharts, CRUD, requirement diagrams, and mind maps.

AI: AI Chat Copilot, AI Code Reverse, and a local MCP server. All AI features require your own API key from a supported AI service (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint).

Integrations: Microsoft Word and Excel (Office Integration plug-in), Miro, PlantUML, Mermaid, Subversion, and Redmine through free plug-ins. A Java API and plug-in SDK are available for custom extensions.

Code: free plug-ins add C# and C++ source import, PHP and C code generation, and template-based code generation for other languages.

Platform and security: runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux with a bundled Java runtime. Models are saved as local files, so no cloud storage is required.

Licensing: monthly, annual, and perpetual licenses, plus floating and organizational licenses for teams. A 20-day free trial is available.
