Expensive for full featured program

Used occasionally for 1-2 years

Review Source: Software Advice

Could be a useful tool if priced better. As a small business, we don't want to afford the costly price tag associated with this program. We used the Free Trial version and it has potential, just not at this price tag.

Pros
- Can do quick take-offs - Easy to upload PDF's

Cons
- Confusing to use / master - Layout seems too clustered - EXPENSIVE for full featured program (not small business friendly price)

Bluebeam give you more than you paid for

It compliments any other software you have.

Pros
This software is by far the "most for the least." I haven't found any other software that allows for such robust examination and sharing of plans for so cheap. Bluebeam allows us to decide who can alter plans, who can flatten them (make the changes permanent), and who can just view them (like sub-contractors). Paid subscriptions are super cheap compared to other softwares that make the same claims.

Cons
Sometimes the icons can get confusing, and having to use a password all the time is a pain, but a small price to pay for a cool shareable medium for plans.

Cons

Best pdf reviewing and editing software

Pros
This software is the most versatile pdf reviewer and editor software available in the market. The markup features, especially, are useful for reviewing and reading journal papers, shop drawings, and technical reports. The cheaper student version is a cherry on the top for graduate students like me who also take classes and need to take notes on laptops/tablets in the class.

Cons
Some features like text recognition from handwriting need a high-end processor that not all students can afford.

Pros
We've used several PDF viewers/editors over the years, and Bluebeam is the most feature packed program we've used. The ability to markup, edit, clip, stamp, sign, etc. our documents all in one interface is very useful.

Cons
It's not cheap. Bluebeam is the most costly PDF editor on the market that we've encountered, but if you can overcome the cost it will become a great asset in your company's toolbox.

I just started using Revu few days ago and loving it. Interface is designed nicely, all the tools are where they should be and didn't need to read manuals to figure it out. I've only used few markups and stamps on existing PDF files so far but I can see the value with team collaboration and using their Studio sessions.

Nothing comes close to Bluebeam!

Bluebeam has converted all of us from Adobe, and eliminates the need for physical shop drawing reviews.

Pros
In terms of features, Bluebeam has everything that the AEC industry needs for PDF editing, mark-ups, estimating, etc. that a lot of other editing programs don't have.

Cons
Nothing against the software, but there are so many features I know we're not using to the fullest extent, but the cost of training from Bluebeam is expensive. Given the cost of the software and maintenance packages, the training should be at a lower price point.

What I like about BlueBeam as a contractor myself, is that you can do wall layouts faster and you can access plans from any location you are in. You do not have to carry old heavy blueprint around anymore.

Cons
Honestly, the only thing I would like is the price to lower a bit. It is a great software, but I believe it should be more affordable.

Bluebeam Revu is easy to use once you get the hang of it

Review Source: Capterra

Pros
I like Bluebeam Revu for its wide range of features and possibilities. This software can be used for take offs, estimating, measurements, and other items that are helpful around the office, not just to one position. The step by step tutorials allow you to learn about the software and its features quickly, and make sense to the average learner. I also appreciate the free 30 day trial of its software and varieties so you can use the product and see which suite is best for you.

Cons
What I dislike about Bluebeam Revu is the price. As a small family owned business it is hard to pay for a larger cost up front. The Revu maintenance package is an optional yearly cost, but is highly recommended and increases the price further.

Regardless of the learning curve - for the price this is 10000000% the best product available and I feel like it is even more intuitive and user-friendly than many other more expensive options.

Pros
Where does the list end... markup summaries, easily scalable drawings and images, integration with almost every large construction programming available, etc. This product has almost removed the need for any architectural involvement. Also... the "Search" tool with vectors is revolutionary

Cons
I guess the only bad thing I can say is sometimes it can be very demanding on the computer and there is definitely a learning curve to fully understand and comprehend how all the tools work.

The brief time we used it, it seemed very user friendly and the functionality was great. It just had a few more options then we really needed so could not justify the cost at this time. It will probably be something we purchase down the road.

Pros
The measurement tools benefited me the most as I estimate projects. I thought it was easy to use and I would have liked to ended up using it.

Cons
I did not like the price. I would have used the software but competitors had products for less cost and since our division is newer for commercial purposes I could not justify the cost.

I have been using Bluebeam as a primary drawing and detail generation tool for close to 7 years. As a Senior Estimator for a large general construction firm it has been invaluable not only as quantities and takes off tool but as a construction sequence documentation tool. Bluebeam uses are so varied and seemingly limitless, it just takes your imagination to think beyond simple "software". I would, and have, highly recommend Bluebeam not only for the construction industry but also for beyond.

Pros
Ease of use. Low comparative cost. Seemingly endless uses for both professional and personal use. Great user support.

Cons
Only con for me is integration to 3D but this may be more of a "user" issue. File sizes can become large especially when using the Photo tool.

Pros
I was first introduced to Bluebeam through my place of employment. I was amazed, right from the start, at how powerful it was and how many features it had that I never knew I needed! After seeing it I could not believe how lame Adobe Acrobat seemed in comparison. The overlay comparison feature is one of the most used features here at work. I manipulate documents within it continuously. The OCR is very powerful. And text manipulation is nothing short of amazing! Great piece of software! I recommend it to everyone that can afford it! Luckily, I can use my corporate computer for personal use, otherwise I'd have to pay full price for it.

Cons
The cost is rather prohibitive for normal users. But the features are plenty and well developed.

Bluebeam Revu has been a software we us daily at our firm. We do all of our shop drawings digitally and Bluebeam helps with that allowing us to have custom stamps and good work flow. Overall we have been very happy with this software and will most likely continue to use it.

Pros
Ease of use and tools available to review drawings and make markups fast.

Cons
The new pricing for updates, until recently Bluebeam was reasonable cost and we had no problems just upgrading every year. But last year they changed the pricing structure and we elected to no upgrade. We still like the product and use it everyday. We will wait a few years and decide if we need to upgrade or not.
