I'm a huge supporter of LucidLink, I've got a global team using it and we've been able to work more efficient than ever before. If you've got multiple users that need to access hot storage, lucidlink is a no brainer.
The peace of mind is the greatest strength of using LucidLink. No longer having to worry about whether you've got a file on your drive or having to work out what project file is the latest version. Having a central hub for all collaborators to work from is a game changer. Mistakes or inefficiencies noticeably reduced since swapping to it.
I think LucidLink could really benefit from monitoring tools. Being able to see who uploaded what files. It'll be great from an admin side to be able to track user usage within a filespace.

That it is simple and works the way you want

Nearly flawless. It just works. The team has been great with the onboarding and support.
What was previously an impossible, or very time consuming and quite the headache, LucidLink has made so simple. We have a large set of data that is now right at our fingertips.
The price is a bit of a jump when you’re coming from something like Dropbox.

What I like most about LucidLink is the seamless ability to manage projects and work with diverse collaborators remotely. One of the main drawbacks I've encountered with LucidLink is the issue with updating the application on the day new updates are released. This has caused some disruptions to my workflow. Additionally, I frequently face network problems that require more technical knowledge than an average end-user might possess. These issues include PIN problems and intermittent connection losses. Despite these challenges, I must commend the support team, as they are always quick and efficient in resolving any issues I encounter.

Overall it's been great. The outage was very unfortunate and costly for our indie production, but Lucid's functionality when it's up and running can't be beat and I'll probably use it on all productions moving forward.
The ability to work from almost anywhere without having to haul drives around.
We were onboarding editors using Lucid for the first time right when the system went down and we lost a lot of their work and their trust.

Overall good, but the cons make us keep other software to get the full range done
Having people from all over the US being able to access their folder and upload footage or employees having full access to their projects or another department being able to have access to fulfill their job.
3 things that could make LL better: -it is very slow uploading large files with great internet -being able to give access by sharing a link -sending files from LL to someone

Been loving it so far! Setup is a little confusing, probably because it's new to me. But once I got the hang of it, smooth sailings from there!
I was in the market for a NAS b/c I wanted a way to send footage easily and fast to my editor in the philippines. But I didn't want to spend more money on hardware. I found Lucid Link and watched a ton of their content to see if it was a good fit and then I believe there was a free trial. And then after the trial, it made sense to just pay for it. I love it for working with remote workers.
It's a little cumbersome to set it all up. The videos are extremely helpful but I also wish it was a less confusing. Specifically, the login stuff. I still don't really understand Root and all of that. lol Oh yeah and I would rather pay an annual fee for a discounted rate.

FANTASTIC overall experience. Their support is top notch on the rare occassions we have had to use support,
The remote editing workflow simply works. It's been the Holy Grail of editing for a decade to be able to truly edit from content in the cloud. There have been many failures by other companies and LucidLink finally cracked the code even with very low bandwidth for very remote users.
There isn't much not to like here. If there was one thing, and this isn't even on LucidLink themselves, it is finding a suitable cloud provider to host content. Lucid offers a few and you have to REALLY ask some tough questions to determine if the Tier 1 or Tier 2 storage is right for your needs.

Lucid has been a great thing for speeding up our client deliverables.
The ability to share and collaborate remotely, quicker than any other platform has ever allowed us to is the initial thing that drew us to LucidLInk. To be able t begin to edit a video clip in Premier even before the full file is uploaded by the capture team is a key differentiator in our business. Simplicity of setup was also a factor.
There have been many updates as the product matures and having to do an update each time you load the Lucid drive can be annoying.

We call it dropbox on steriods. So fast and hardly any issues ever. seemless.

I want to love and use Lucidlink but continue to run into the same issues whenever I try it out (again and again). I appreciate the concept and hope to see things continue to improve. Great product, but not compatible with our needs and use cases. Same goes for competitive products like Suite Storage.
I love the idea of having a single source of truth for a "cloud NAS" that is easily accessible to anyone with an internet connection. The user management and product setup are very clean and well done.
Marketing "without ever downloading" is completely misleading and false - data has to upload and download to be viewed and "streaming" is not practical in many workflows. When working with professional media files (RAW, R3D, ARRI, etc) that are very large (80 - 400 GB per file), it's very convenient to have the files in one place, but they will need to get downloaded at some point. The "streaming"...

The possibility to have a could storage optimized for video projects is exactly what I was looking for my team. Living and working in this time where the team can be dislocated around the world everybody has the possibility to work in a collaborative way on the same projects without the need to waiting hours to download files and always to remember to upload an updated version

Lucid is one of the most useful products that I've ever used for media production and especially in this era of hybrid work. Lucid makes it possible for in-office and remote employees to collaborate seamlessly and eliminates the crutch of shuttling hard drives from place to place. Win-win-win.
Lucid is great for video editorial collaboration work, as editors, assistants, and producers can have one location to access all media production and project files whenever they need. Lucid works great when there is strong internet connection, which will make or break an editorial session. Lucid also makes for a great file transfer portal when needed and can also be used as a cloud archival option.
The major downside to Lucid is its heavy dependence on strong internet connection, so make sure to upgrade or test your connection on Lucid before their free trial ends. Other than that, Lucid is quite phenomenal.

Our business last year and this year was to help schools across the nation produce their virtual graduation ceremonies. To do this we needed to collect assets and organize thousands of students pictures /videos and names. Using lucid link increased our organization process and allowed our 60 contracted workers to get the assets they needed to edit with ease. A life saver for our graduation clients.
The best part about this software is the ease of use. The fact that we can put everything in a folder and organize it to our specific needs ,and everyone on the team can access that and work of that is perfect for us. Using premiere pro with this software helped us edit our clients videos remotely and with speed.
Luidlink does everything we need it to. We will continue to use them over box and dropbox.

Overall the experience has been great and we have pushed LL to it's limits, transfering and streaming terabytes of data. Yes the product is in it's early stages of development, but the feattures that are present do work reliably, which is all that I coudl ever ask for.
It works. It really works. The ridiculous thing is that LucidLink make a bold claim and they really deliver. I knew about LL for a few years, but have always been sceptical of it. It was almost shocking to find out when we tested it out that it worked exactly as advertised! What I like the most about it is that it allows to use creative tools designed for LAN collaboration over the internet. For example,...
Because the LL teams is small, some quality of life featture are still missing and will probably take a while to implement. Asking end users to dabble around in CLI to perform simple actions such as clearing cache or mounting multiple filespaces is not something that I wish I had to do as understandibly many users get intimidated by CLI. But I hope these functions will be added to the GUI in the future.

It has helped taken us to another level of productivity. We were able to remove all of our dated storage devices and work directly off cloud storage which has sped up access to staff to work from anywhere. We have been thrilled with being able to take all of our siloed data and consolidate it all into one place allowing us to unify our storage and have everyone work off the same true set of data.
The ability to run this on multiple OS options and have it interface well with a number of server based software applications. We replaced our on premise storage in all offices and now have direct cloud based file shares accessible from anywhere. I have been looking for a solution for migrating local data to the cloud for a long time. Normal s3 object storage does not offer such security in the form of file encryption and such quick access to files. Lucidlink enabled me to migrate business files to the cloud.
LucidLink enables the use of s3 object storage as a cloud file storage. Simple to install. Very simple in administering users and access shares. For starters, it's difficult to understand how to make the most of LucidLink. It seems that you can use many different file spaces simultaneously, but in practice it has not worked. It's best to use one file space on one device.
