With Hal9, business users can chat with data. They just ask questions, and Hal9 will answer by gathering and processing your own databases. In the background, Hal9 generates SQL and Python code that powers visualizations and interactive dashboards. Users can share the answers that were generated with the rest of their team. No coding or extensive training is required by the user, but the data team can audit, debug and extend the generated code. This means fast insights for decision-makers and a focused data team free from urgent (and boring) reporting tasks.

Hal9 was developed to facilitate it's integration in the enterprise cloud, with security in mind and taking in consideration of the new challenges created by the usage of new Large Language Models (LLMs).

One of the main features of Hal9 is that it can process data from databases, whether accessing them remotely or locally within the company’s cloud. Hal9 also supports static files such as CSVs.

About Hal9 Implementation Architectures

Fundamentally, Hal9 is cloud agnostic, but most of our installations run on AWS and Azure.

Hal9 Hosted

All of Hal9’s non-enterprise users use Hal9’s hosting running on AWS and leveraging Kubernetes. Data can be processed by uploading files to Hal9 or creating a connection with an external database. In this case, data does travel to Hal9’s servers whenever a question is processed or viewed.

Enterprise Installation

Most Enterprise users prefer to install Hal9 on their own cloud. We have a process that can be followed by your IT team or by our white-glove onboarding team to install Hal9 from a Docker image.

In this architecture, the company’s data (the contents of the database) never leave your cloud. The only data sent to Hal9’s servers is a transformation of the Prompt and the Data Schema of the databases being used.
