It made it easier to produce expense reports, but is still not perfect.

Pros

Expensify helps you scan your invoices and sort them by project in a single application. The UI is simple and intuitive.

Cons

It can mix currencies and have issue to identify what is tips or taxes.

We have used this software when it was just two owners and continue to with 15 employees and a dozen billable expense reports per month or more plus owners receipt tracking.

Also integration to quickbooks for sending billable items for creating invoices.

Ability to keep track of mileage /expenses and to automatically generate and submit reports.

Cons

The option to scan receipts by taking a picture of them is slow and takes too much time to upload and process. The results are not always accurate.

- Uploaded photos are automatically scanned to save having to enter any data - Send receipt pictures to email and have them automatically added you expense reports - Status showing where in the process of approval your expenses are - Notifications when expenses have been paid

Cons

Some times to auto scanned picture can read the receipt and data has to be manually entered or the wrong currency is detected.

Pros

It organizes expenses and reports well, and integrates directly with other payment platforms to process reimbursements.

Cons

The Uber integration is awesome, but if you add a tip, it logs a separate expense rather than combining the 2.

Easy expense reports!

Pros

It parses data from receipts very accurately and I usually don't have to make many corrections.

Cons

The only complaint I have is that if you accidentally create a report I haven't been able to figure out how to delete them so I sometimes end up with an empty report hanging around in my account.

I've also heard from colleagues that there are features to integrate with taxi/uber apps so that business travel is automatically raised as an expense but I have yet to try that out.

It helps me be proactive about my expenses and staying up to speed on my report so that when it is time to submit to accounting, I am ready and not dreading the backlog of data entry.

Pros

Allows you to have multiple reports active and open concurrently, Lets you easily re-open closed reports for editing. compiles receipts into an exportable pdf for report submission, user friendly help search (step by step directions), Smart Scan helps expedite data entry.

Cons

Has a few hiccups from time to time: automatically closing reports, not always intuitive how to initiate certain actions, Smart Scan not always able to correctly read receipts.

Anyone that has a basic understanding of technology can just load the app and use it to submit reports.

Cons

Also, the direct integration with QuickBooks Online is great and easy to use, but adding accounts in QuickBooks Online sometimes automatically adds accounts to certain expense policies in Expensify, but not all policies.

Pros

- Email Receipt Forwarder - Rules that you can configure to automatically handle different assignment automation - User Interface and Experience is very easy - Easy to use mobile application

Cons

OCR technology is not totally there. This isn't a dig on Expensify, but you still need to review your receipts and any that were detailed by the scanning tool.
