The "bong" notification when I spell a word wrong. It is a little off putting, but I guess it will s necessary.

The Pros of Timeslips were the reports and time tracker, otherwise, I believe is time for Timeslips to either embrace a new era of technology or get left behind.

Sage Timeslips Review

Sage TimeSlips is not a product I would recommend to anyone. By not being user-friendly, it's difficult to train yourself and others on. We have had many issues with billing clients and onboarding process despite using the TimeSlips manual and sometimes help representatives. It's also frankly not worth the effort to learn all of the capabilities because it's an arduous and time-wasting process.

Antedated and Slow

Sage Timeslips enables me to record time daily and in moments to create a bill to send to the client through email.  In essence the software eliminates the need for paper, postage and labor.

I am a practicing cardiologist who uses Timeslips to track time and provide invoices for the time I spend as a medical-legal consultant. I database has been accumulated over 20 years. This is what I have not changed to a competing software product. The lack of integration with the web makes this product very outdated.

Functional but needs updating. 

Timeslips has definitely grown and become easier to use and access over the years.  Pretty happy right now.

We have been with Sage Timeslips for so long (over 15 years), it would be difficult to go to another provider.

Worth Figuring Out How to Use 

Billing and keeping track of payments is so easy with this program and I can easily go back to reprint bills if I need to. There are features I don't use, but I'm sure would be beneficial for others.

I chose timeslips because I started working with it early in my career in 1992. I stayed with it when I went out on my own.

I like it when I'm in the office.  But it is a hassle to use when I'm not.

Acceptable but unless you are an accountant, it was difficult to understand all of its functionality.

I have been using Sage Timeslips since 2008, and by and large the experience has been incredibly positive.

Best time and billing software, but not perfect

We have had Timeslips for a long time.  We recently went through a decision of continuing or discontinuing.  After review of many others, we decided to stay with Timeslips due to the cost for each "user".   We need to group together some of our clients (separate bills but they are grouped together).

Lately I have not had problems.  The program goes nuts every so often. But we just close and reopen.  I liked it better when we did have problems were able to talk to someone right then.  Now we have to wait for a call that we do not know when it will occur and ofter it is missed.

I finally got connected with [sensitive content hidden] and that did the trick. He was knowledgeable and kind, despite my frustration after trying to get this done for 4-5 days. Sheesh.  I’ve been billing via TIMESLIPS for 10+ years or I would switch to another program. 

Hope you never need to change your payment method. 

20 years ago, they were a decent company and put out a decent product.  Now they have built in glitches, designed to take your system down 12 months after you purchase their product so that your billing information is held hostage until you pay them the required amount.

Great time keeping software!

Paul:                                                  Hi, my name is Paul. I'm an attorney, a solo attorney in Los Angeles, California. I have been using Timeslips since 1992, and I would give it the highest rating possible, which is a five. Over the years, I have looked at virtually every law firm software, both just the timekeeping function software and the overall software that gets marketed to lawyers all the time. I don't think anything comes close to the functionality and the usability of Timeslips. I am loyal to Timeslips because obviously it's something I've been used to using my entire legal career, at least since computers. Before computers, you kept track of your time manually of course, and that's how I started back in the 1980s, but as soon as computers started to be used by lawyers, I jumped on board and got the almost first version of Timeslips and have been using it ever since.
                                                       Over the years, like I said, I've compared it to other products that are out there, and I don't think anything else comes close. Back in 1992, Timeslips was almost the only game in town. I remember evaluating a couple of other products, but again, even then, nothing came close and its ability to... Back then, there were various levels of Timeslips. There was a Timeslips for a solo lawyer like me, and then there was a Timeslips version for a small firm and larger firms, et cetera, which is one of the many things that I liked about it, because it was adaptable.
                                                       If I ever wanted to expand my law firm and take on or partner with other lawyers, I could do that, but it served my purpose very well, kept track of my clients. It was one, or it is one common database of client information, name, address, phone numbers, all the contact information, et cetera and of course, enables me to keep track of the time that I spend on each client's matter and also, yes, the ability to have various matters for a given client by using client name dot matter was something that I haven't seen elsewhere and that's great because I have lots of clients who have asked me to do various things over the years and sometimes even simultaneously and so the ability to keep track of each matter for a given client separately and then also combine all of those matters for the one client is unique to Timeslips as far as I know.
                                                       For a first time user of Timeslips, Timeslips makes it very easy. There are tutorials, there are user notes. The support for installing and setting it up is very, very good. You can get as sophisticated or as simple as you want. I often think of Timeslips as one of those old fashioned pigeonhole things. I'm not sure what they're called, little boxes on a wall where you put slips of paper in each of the boxes. Timeslips is a very elaborate version of that, but if you think of it that way, it makes Timeslips easy to use.
                                                       So for starting out lawyers, for lawyers who are dissatisfied with whatever timekeeping software they've been using, et cetera, again, Timeslips is easy to set up and use. Their resources both on the website and on the phone from support are extraordinarily good. There's also a Timeslips user group, et cetera. Virtually any issue that you encounter can be handled easily and like I said, the functionality and the way it's set up is very easy and user-friendly.
