Overall, the program has been easy to use and implement within our team. It isn't a steep learning curve and there are many resources to use to be able to learn as you go.
TPS is easy to input workflow items and tasks which is what we primarily use the program for.
The 'due dates' in TPS are difficult to use because we would rather be able to input multiple dates including start dates along with due dates. I would like to be able to track a workflow item similar to a project, rather than a one-off, because there are often many stages requiring multiple dates.

Overall I would highly recommend TPS Cloud Axis for time and billing software for a CPA firm.
TPS works great for my small CPA firm. The time tracking is very easy to use. Invoicing is easy once invoice templates are established. The invoices look very professional. Accounts Receivable is easy and there are numerous useful reports for reviewing performance, A/R, WIP, etc.
Setting up invoice templates takes some work. Manually adjusting invoices in MS Word can be challenging, although this may be more of a Word issue than a TPS issue.

The transition from the desktop version to the Cloud Axis version was very easy and quick. The automatic updates are also nice as it saves us time not worrying about updating everyone's desktop program. The search engines while completing time entries are also very useful.
Does require internet access (which one time our internet went down) which was a headache but the option of using your phone's data plan to log in time is a nice backup. Sometimes the website takes a while to log in (not sure why).

In general, the tech representatives that I have worked with are VERY helpful to me. I especially like and appreciate their patience with me as I am so non-savvy when it comes to computer/app competence. Today I worked with [sensitive content hidden]. She was patient, competent and gave me GREAT instructions on how to make my TPS work and life so much easier. That is appreciated!!
Though it's not a "con" per se, when I have an issue and do not have an "instant" fix/person to help me resolve the issue, it causes me work issues.

Overall the experience is very good - much more convenient than the desktop version, with a few items that are impossible to change (like if you accidentally upload the wrong invoice, impossible to upload a corrected one).
Allows all of our staff to enter their time in real time even if they are working remotely
Adding new client addresses it always asks for 'State' and 'Zip Code' - this is supposed to be a Canadian product, in a Canadian market - how hard would it be to include 'Province' and 'Postal Code' - even the saddest, most pathetic American websites know enough to ask a Canadian for their province. This annoys me considerably every I enter a new client address

Overall I am very happy with TPS cloud Axis
I like the way it is easy to enter time.
We often forget to mark a job as complete. To me it seems it should be possible to connect invoicing a job to the workflow so that when I do an invoice it would give me an option, if there are any jobs open, to mark them as complete automatically.

Our firm selected TPS Cloud Axis because it had all of the features of our previous system, but also included two new features: it was cloud-based, and it had a functional workflow platform. All of this, for a much more reasonable price. Tiered options for features also gives us the possibility of having TPS expand to grow with our firm, if needed. There is a large initial time investment required to get TPS set up, however once it is set-up, it works smoothly.
Fair pricing with tiered options, so you are only paying for what you truly need; tailored for accounting firms, and is based around clients rather than engagements; includes customizable workflow platform; cloud-based; timecard entry includes start/stop times, rather than having to use a timer.
TPS overall is not intuitive, sometimes you have to click around a lot to find what you are looking for; the report tree is also not intuitive or easy to navigate (although being able to save and re-name your favourite reports helps with this); the data conversion service required a lot of work on our part (both before and after).

Cloud functionality Good support Fairly Easy to use
Some options selected do not remain the same the next time you go to that section. For instance, in billings if you select options and selected other to "show Totals On Columns", you have to do that every time you come back to billings. Same if you select a specific partner under filter.

I love TPS Cloud Axis because the information is there and updated in real time, I am able to track my work day and activities spent on each client.
I like the ability to see what my work flow is over the period of time and be able to move things around on a day to day basis and keep things that are important on the radar. I have the workflow tab as my default tab and I like it because it shows what needs to be done over the next few weeks and I can schedule my time accordingly.
TPS has a lot of different activities which are spread out around different areas on the site. I don't like it that there is no "dashboard" that shows an overall summary - profitability, Billable time vs non billable time, which files are not worked on, files in progress, tasks to do this week, tasks that need documents, tasks waiting for signature and payment. I need to go in to specifically look for each item which is somewhat time consuming if I need to do this every day. It would be nice to have a customizable dashboard.

It suits my needs an as accountant.
I have used both the desktop and cloud version, and using the cloud is more convenient, and there are less problems with lag and slow down than with the desktop version.
The cloud version is missing some of the easy tabbing and quality of life features I remember from the desktop version.Also being dependent on the internet connection to use the cloud version is a downside.

Tax return tracking and billing.
Recording and categorizing work in TPS allows us to have close to real-time tracking of client work, progress, and planning.
Would like to set up the invoicing so that I could import the bill that Prosystem fx can generate without typing it. Different data points for each client.

We regularly use the workflow management, invoicing and collection module. We have also started using sending emails via TPS
TPS is still a young company a young product so there are always small glitches that requires you to call and get answers for, overall, it works well. Great tool for any CPA firm.

the cloud is the best feature. there are features in the workstation version that made it easier to navigate
billing, have to search for client after a client is billed.

We are very basic users. Time input by employees. Invoices input by me and payments input by me. The transition to TPS Cloud was very user friendly.
There are so many features that do not pertain to us. It would be helpful if I could just put as many e-mails and contacts within the Address tab of the client and not use contacts. I do not contact clients through TPS so this is not really a feature that is convenient for me.

Spelling - can't figure out how to enter words. Don't like that you can't have more than one time open at once.

In the 10 years we've been using, I have only had to call maybe two times for customer service help. This week was the second time. [sensitive content hidden] was fantastic to work with. I am not a techy person by any means & she was very polite, helpful, and explained to me what our situation was; which we will be updating in the near future.
I've been using for so long, daily tasks have become second nature.

Our overall experience has been great, we've been really happy with the product and the various functions.

We used the TPS Desktop/On Premise software on a file server for 3-4 years and converted to TPS Axis in January 2021. Our staff members think Axis is much easier to use than the Desktop version of TPS was. It has been a wonderful change and I recommend TPS all the time.
We are primarily using TPS Axis for tracking employee time for payroll and to track client billable hours for invoicing. Our employees love that Axis is cloud-based, so staff can enter their time remotely. We also really like that the client work time sorts by different types of work and that each employee can have multiple billing rates for different types for their work. The reports that I use are easy to read. The conversion from the old version of TPS toTPS Axis was seamless and all of our old data was migrated into Axis in about 2 weeks. It's a great value for the price. I would love it if TPS becomes full-bodied practice management software.
The report names are confusing because they are all so similar. I have a hard time getting the reports I want, so just use a few that I understand. Giving each of the reports a more unique name would add a huge amount of value for me because I could use the software at a much greater level.
